The objective of this study was to retrieve daily composite soil moisture by jointly using brightness temperature observations from multiple operating satellites for near real-time application with better coverage and higher accuracy.Our approach was to first apply the single-channel brightness radiometric algorithm to estimate soil moisture from the respective brightness temperature observations of the SMAP,SMOS,AMSR2,FY3B,and FY3C satellites on the same day and then produce a daily composite dataset by averaging the individual satellite-retrieved soil moisture.We further evaluated our product,the official soil moisture products of the five satellites,and the ensemble mean (i.e.,arithmetic mean) of the five official satellite soil moisture products against ground observations from two networks in Central Tibet and Anhui Province,China.The results show that our product outperforms the individual released products of the five satellites and their ensemble means in the two validation areas.The root mean square error (RMSE ) values of our product were 0.06 and 0.09 m3/m3 in Central Tibet and Anhui Province,respectively.Relative to the ensemble mean of the five satellite products,our product improves the accuracy by 9.1% and 57.7% in Central Tibet and Anhui Province,respectively.This demonstrates that jointly using brightness temperature observations from multiple satellites to retrieve soil moisture not only improves the spatial coverage of daily observations but also produces better daily composite products. 展开更多

[Objectives]To explore the antibacterial effects of essential oils from pomegranate on two kinds of postharvest pathogenic fungi,and to provide reference for the exploration of new plant-derived preservatives for pomegranate.[Methods]The inhibitory effects of 15 kinds of plant essential oils on 2 kinds of pomegranate postharvest pathogenic fungi were studied.[Results]Tea tree oil and eucalyptus oil have good inhibitory effects on the mycelium growth of Coniella granati and Botrytis cinerea,and the fumigation treatment of pomegranate can inhibit the rot of fruit during storage to a certain extent.[Conclusions]Tea tree oil and eucalyptus oil can effectively inhibit the mycelium growth of two kinds of pathogenic fungi,and can better control the rot of pomegranate during storage.It is necessary to further study the fresh-keeping effect and antibacterial mechanism of plant essential oils on pomegranate. 展开更多

Migration behavior of solid fuel particles during granulation process and its influence on combustion property

Iron ore sintering process is the main CO_(2) emission source throughout the integrate steelworks,which primarily comes from the combustion of solid fuels.Improving the combustion efficiency and reducing the solid fuel consumption are important ways to reduce the CO_(2) emission in the sintering process.Around the efficient combustion of fuel,the migration behavior and combustion characteristics of solid fuel in the granulation process were investigated.The results indicated that during the granulation process,fuel particles with size less than 0.5 mm mainly migrated into the granules with grain size of 1-3,3-5 and 5-8 mm;fuel particles with size of 0.5^(-1)mm mainly migrated into granules of 1-3 mm;fuel particles with size of 1-3,3-5 and 5-8 mm mainly entered the granules with the same grain size.With the increase in fuel particles grain size from-0.5 to+8 mm,the combustion efficiency exhibited a firstly-increasing and then decreasing tendency,while the NO_(x) exhibited a decreasing tendency.Potential reason can be described that finer fuel particles(-1 mm)easily distributed in the outer layer of the granules,which combusted fiercely due to its larger specific surface area,leading to the development of incomplete combustion and the conversion of fuel nitrogen;the combustion efficiency of larger fuel particles was restricted by the inner diffusion of O_(2),which then contributed to the reduction of NO_(x) under the inadequate combustion atmosphere. 展开更多
