A new immersed boundary method is presented, and this method employs the adaptive Cartesian grid to improve the adaptability to complex shapes and the immersed boundary to increase computational e ciency. The new immersed boundary method employs different boundary cells(the physical cell and ghost cell) to impose the boundary condition and the reconstruction algorithm of the ghost cell is the key for this method. The classical model elliptic equation is used to test the method. This method is tested and analyzed from the viewpoints of boundary cell type, error distribution and accuracy. The numerical result shows that the presented method has low error and a good rate of the convergence and works well in complex geometries. The method has good prospect for practical application research of the numerical calculation research.展开更多
Using the particle swarm optimization algorithm on structural search methods, we focus our crystal structures search on boron-rich alkali metal compounds of MB_(12)(M = Be, Mg, Ca, Sr) with simulation cell sizes of 1...Using the particle swarm optimization algorithm on structural search methods, we focus our crystal structures search on boron-rich alkali metal compounds of MB_(12)(M = Be, Mg, Ca, Sr) with simulation cell sizes of 1–2 formula units(f.u.)at 0 GPa. The structure, electronic, and mechanical properties of MB_(12) are obtained from the density functional theory using the plane-wave pseudopotential method within the generalized gradient approximations. The formation enthalpies of MB_(12) regarding to solid metal M and solid alpha-boron suggested the predicted structures can be synthesized except for BeB12. The calculated band structures show MB_(12)(M = Be, Mg, Ca, Sr) are all indirect semiconductors. All the calculated elastic constants of MB_(12) satisfy the the mechanical stable conditions. The mechanical parameters(i.e., bulk modulus,shear modulus, and Young’s modulus) are derived using the Voigt–Reuss–Hill method. The G/B ratios indicated that the MB_(12) should exhibit brittle behavior. In addition, the hardness, Debye temperature, universal anisotropic index, and the percentage of anisotropy in compression and shear are also discussed in detail. We hope our results can inspire further experimental study on these boron-rich alkali-metal compounds.展开更多
Objective: To observe the effect of traditional Chinese medicine "Fuzheng Qingre Tonglin"prescription on rats with complicated urinary tract infection caused by extended-spectrumβ-lactamases (ESBLs)-produci...Objective: To observe the effect of traditional Chinese medicine "Fuzheng Qingre Tonglin"prescription on rats with complicated urinary tract infection caused by extended-spectrumβ-lactamases (ESBLs)-producing Escherichia coli and its possible mechanism. Methods:Specific-pathogen-free female SD rats with 7-9 weeks old were randomly divided into model group, levofloxacin group, low-dose Fuzheng Qingre Tonglin group, high-dose Fuzheng Qingre Tonglin group, levofloxacin+Fuzheng Qingre Tonglin group (n=8 in each above group), and also there was a control group with 5 rats. Each group was administered intragastrically 2 days after model establishment for 14 consecutive days. The general condition of the rats was observed. Renal pathological changes were observed by light microscopy under hematoxylin-eosin staining. The number of white blood cells and the percentage of neutral particles (NEUT%) were detected. ELISA was used for the determination of C-reactive protein (CRP), CD4+, CD8+ in the blood, and secretory immunoglobulin A (SIgA), N-acetyl-β-D-glucosidase (NAG) molecules in urine. Results: There were a large number of inflammatory cells in the kidney of the model group and the levofloxacin group. The inflammatory cells in the treatment group were significantly reduced. The NEUT% and CRP in the blood of each treatment group and the NAG in the urine were significantly lower than those in the model group (P<0.05), except levofloxacin group. Compared with the model group, except for the levofloxacin group, serum CD4 concentration and CD4/CD8 ratio in the other treatment groups were significantly decreased, and CD8 molecules were significantly increased (P<0.05). Conclusion: "Fuzheng Qingre Tonglin" can alleviate systemic and local inflammation of complicated urinary tract infections in rats. It may also have the effect of re-sensing the insensitive antibacterial drug to bacteria and may have the function of regulating immune function and protecting kidney function in rats.展开更多
