Thermodynamic simulation was conducted to design a new process of stepwise precipitating NH_4VO_(3)and NaHCO_(3)from regulating the CO_(2)carbonation of Na_(3)VO_(4)solution.Firstly,a new V(V)speciation model for the ...Thermodynamic simulation was conducted to design a new process of stepwise precipitating NH_4VO_(3)and NaHCO_(3)from regulating the CO_(2)carbonation of Na_(3)VO_(4)solution.Firstly,a new V(V)speciation model for the aqueous solution containing vanadate and carbonate is established by using the Bromley-Zemaitis activity coefficient model.Subsequently,thermodynamic equilibrium calculations are conducted to clarify the behavior of vanadium,carbon,sodium,and impurity species in atmospheric or high-pressure carbonation.To ensure the purity and recovery of vanadium products,Na_(3)VO_(4)solution is initially carbonated to the pH of 9.3-9.4,followed by precipitating NH_4VO_(3)by adding(NH_4)_(2)CO_(3).After vanadium precipitation,the solution is deeply carbonated to the final pH of 7.3-7.5 to precipitate NaHCO_(3),and the remaining solution is recycled to dissolve Na_(3)VO_(4)crystals.Finally,verification experiments demonstrate that 99.1%of vanadium and 91.4%of sodium in the solution are recovered in the form of NH_4VO_(3)and NaHCO_(3),respectively.展开更多

Objective: This study explored the rejuvenation mechanisms of Thai polyherbal medicines using different approaches, including in vitro methods, as well as a well-defined nematode model, Caenorhabditis elegans.Methods:...Objective: This study explored the rejuvenation mechanisms of Thai polyherbal medicines using different approaches, including in vitro methods, as well as a well-defined nematode model, Caenorhabditis elegans.Methods: THP-R-SR012 decoction was selected from 23 polyherbal medicines, based on metal-chelating and chain-breaking antioxidant capacities. The influences of this extract on the survival and some stress biomarkers of C. elegans under paraquat-induced oxidative stress were evaluated. Furthermore, lifespan analysis and levels of lipofuscin accumulation were examined in senescent nematodes. The phytochemical profile of THP-R-SR012 was analyzed.Results: Supplementation with THP-R-SR012 decoction significantly increased the mean lifespan and reduced the oxidative damage to C. elegans under oxidative stress conditions. Further, THP-R-SR012 supplementation slightly influenced the lifespan and the level of lipofuscin accumulation during adulthood.Antioxidant-related phytochemical constituents of THP-R-SR012 decoction were rutin, naringenin, 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid, gallic acid, glycyrrhizic acid, demethoxycurcumin and 18 a-glycyrrhetinic acid.Conclusion: The antioxidant potential of THP-R-SR012 was due to its scavenging properties, its enhancement of antioxidant-related enzyme activities, and the presence of the antioxidant-related compound.These results support the traditional use of THP-R-SR012 decoction as a tonic for nourishing and strengthening the whole body.展开更多
Lanthipeptides are one of the largest groups of ribosomally synthesized and post-translationally modified peptides(RiPPs)and are characterized by the presence of lanthionine(Lan)or methyllanthionine residues(MeLan).On...Lanthipeptides are one of the largest groups of ribosomally synthesized and post-translationally modified peptides(RiPPs)and are characterized by the presence of lanthionine(Lan)or methyllanthionine residues(MeLan).Only very few lanthipeptides contain a C-terminal 2-aminovinyl-cysteine(AviCys)motif,but all of them show potent antibacterial activities.Recent advances of genome sequencing led to the rapid accumulation of new biosynthetic gene clusters(BGCs)for lanthipeptides.In this study,through our genome mining strategy,we found the AviCys containing lanthipeptides are widespread in the bacterial kingdom.A lanthipeptide-type biosynthetic gene cluster was identified from public bacterial genome database.Two new lanthipeptides,daspyromycins A and B(1 and 2)containing AviCys motif,along with two degraded products,daspyromycins C and D(3 and 4),were obtained after heterologous expression of the gene cluster in Streptomyces albus J1074.Daspyromycins A and B showed potent antimicrobial activity against a spectrum of Gram-positive and-negative bacteria including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA)and vancomycin-resistant Enterococci(VRE).展开更多
