Recent theory and experiments show that artificial magnetic skyrmions can be stabilized at room temperature without the need for the external magnetic field,casting strong potentials for the device applications.In this work,we study the electric field manipulation of artificial magnetic skyrmions imprinted by Co disks on CoPt multilayers utilizing the micromagnetic simulations.We find that the reversible annihilation and creation of skyrmions can be realized with the electric field via the strain mediated magnetoelastic coupling.In addition,we also demonstrate controllable manipulation of individual skyrmion,which opens a new platform for constructing magnetic field-free and low-energy dissipation skyrmion based media. 展开更多

This paper presents a cloud-based data-driven design optimization system,named DADOS,to help engineers and researchers improve a design or product easily and efficiently.DADOS has nearly 30 key algorithms,including the design of experiments,surrogate models,model validation and selection,prediction,optimization,and sensitivity analysis.Moreover,it also includes an exclusive ensemble surrogate modeling technique,the extended hybrid adaptive function,which can make use of the advantages of each surrogate and eliminate the effort of selecting the appropriate individual surrogate.To improve ease of use,DADOS provides a user-friendly graphical user interface and employed flow-based programming so that users can conduct design optimization just by dragging,dropping,and connecting algorithm blocks into a workflow instead of writing massive code.In addition,DADOS allows users to visualize the results to gain more insights into the design problems,allows multi-person collaborating on a project at the same time,and supports multi-disciplinary optimization.This paper also details the architecture and the user interface of DADOS.Two examples were employed to demonstrate how to use DADOS to conduct data-driven design optimization.Since DADOS is a cloud-based system,anyone can access DADOS at www.dados.com.cn using their web browser without the need for installation or powerful hardware. 展开更多

Compensated ferrimagnetic insulators are particularly interesting for enabling functional spintronic,optical,and microwave devices.Among many different garnets,Gd_(3)Fe_(5)O_(12)(GdIG)is a representative compensated ferrimagnetic insulator.In this paper,we will study the evolution of the surface morphology,the magnetic properties,and the magnetization compensation through changing the following parameters:the annealing temperature,the growth temperature,the annealing duration,and the choice of different single crystalline garnet substrates.Our objective is to find the optimized growth condition of the GdIG films,for the purpose of achieving a strong perpendicular magnetic anisotropy(PMA)and a flat surface,together with a small effective damping parameter.Through our experiments,we have found that the surface roughness approaching 0.15 nm can be obtained by choosing the growth temperature around 700℃,together with an enhanced PMA.We have also found the modulation of magnetic anisotropy by choosing different single crystalline garnet substrates which change the tensile strain to the compressive strain.A measure of the effective magnetic damping parameter(α_(eff)=0.04±0.01)through a spin pumping experiment in a GdIG/Pt bilayer is also made.Through optimizing the growth dynamics of GdIG films,our results could be useful for synthesizing garnet films with a PMA,which could be beneficial for the future development of ferrimagnetic spintronics. 展开更多

The evolution of the rust layers on carbon steel and weathering steel in high humidity and heat marine atmospheric environment was investigated by wet/dry cyclic acceleration corrosion tests in this study.The corrosion process of carbon steel and weathering steel was divided into two stages and the reasons for the changes in the corrosion rates of two steels were different.The composition phase of the inner rust layer of weathering steel was mainly goethite,whereas that of carbon steel was mainly akaganeite.Rust resistance(Rr)performed better than charge transfer resistance(Rt)in evaluating the protection performance of rust layer.As the corrosion proceeded,the evolution of the cathodic process of weathering steel was not obvious,whereas that of carbon steel was irregular. 展开更多

Appropriate mechanical support and excellent osteogenic capability are two essential prerequisites of customized implants for regenerating large-sized cranial bone defect.Although porous bone scaffolds have been widely proven to promote bone regeneration,their weak mechanical properties limit the clinical applications in cranioplasty.Herein,we applied two previously developed mineralized collagen-based bone scaffolds(MC),porous MC(pMC)and compact MC(cMC)to construct a biphasic MC composite bone scaffold(bMC)to repair the large-sized cranial bone defect in developing sheep.A supporting frame composed of cMC phase in the shape of tic–tac–toe structure was fabricated first and then embedded in pMC phase.The two phases had good interfacial bond,attributing to the formation of an interfacial zone.The in vivo performance of the bMC scaffold was evaluated by using a cranial bone defect model in 1-month-old sheep.The computed tomography imaging,X-ray scanning and histological evaluation showed that the pMC phase in the bMC scaffold,similar to the pMC scaffold,was gradually replaced by the regenerative bone tissues with comprehensively increased bone mineral density and complete connection of bone bridge in the whole region.The cMC frame promoted new bone formation beneath the frame without obvious degradation,thus providing appropriate mechanical protection and ensuring the structural integrity of the implant.In general,the sheep with bMC implantation exhibited the best status of survival,growth and the repair effect.The biphasic structural design may be a prospective strategy for developing new generation of cranioplasty materials to regenerate cranial bone defect in clinic. 展开更多
