We divided these mice into two groups: A 30% partial hepatectomy(PH) of NASH liver group and a 70% PH of NASH liver group. In addition, a 70% PH of normal liver group served as the control. Each group was evaluated for survival rate, regeneration, apoptosis, necrosis and DNA expression after PH.RESULTS In the 70% PH of NASH group, the survival rate was significantly decreased compared with that in the control and 30% PH of NASH groups(P < 0.01). 10 of 32 mice in the NASH 70% PH group died within 48 h after PH. Serum aspartate aminotransferase(AST) levels and total bilirubin(T-Bil) in the NASH 70% PH group were significantly higher than the levels in the other two groups(AST: P < 0.05, T-Bil: P < 0.01). In both PH of NASH groups, signaling proteins involved in regeneration were expressed at lower levels than those in the control group(P < 0.01). The 70% PH of NASH group also exhibited a lower number of Ki-67-positive cells and higher rates of apoptosis and necrosis than the NASH 30% PH group(P < 0.01). In addition, DNA microarray assays showed differences in gene expression associated with cell cycle arrest and apoptosis.CONCLUSION The function of the residual liver is impaired in fatty liver compared to normal liver. A larger residual volume is required to maintain liver functions in mice with NASH.展开更多

The objective of the present study was to determine the number of podocytes and the degree of albuminuria in diabetic KK-Ay/Ta (KK-Ay) mice which had been reported as diabetic nephropathy model. Diabetic KK-Ay mice, diabetic KK/Ta mice and non-diabetic BALB/cA Jcl (BALB/cA) mice were studied. We analyzed glomerular lesions in all mice by morphometric analysis and immunofluorescence to determine the number of podocytes. Level of urinary albumin was also measured. Glomerular enlargement and mesangial expansion were observed in KK-Ay mice. Mean number of podocytes per glomerulus (NG pod) in diabetic KK-Ay mice was significantly lower than that in non-diabetic BALB/cA mice. Mean NG pod/glomerular area (GA) per glomerulus was also significantly decreased in diabetic KK-Ay mice. The level of urinary albumin/creatinine ratio (ACR) in diabetic KK-Ay mice was significantly higher than that in non-diabetic BALB/cA mice. These data suggest that podocyte loss might induce albuminuria in KK-Ay mice. This finding confirmed our previous report that KK-Ay mice, especially in terms of histological findings, are a suitable animal model for glomerular injury in type 2 diabetic nephropathy.展开更多

The subjective evaluation was carried bythe SD method. Factor analyses were processed to study the good feel with skin andcomfortableness on weaning.Generally the handle of silk and Sin-gosen fabrics was evaluatedbo be soft, pliable, smooth, slippery, thin and light, conclusively to give a good touch with handReferring to blouses,it was evaluated to be easy in motion, and nice in touch with skin and com-fortable upon weaning.Based on the result of thefactor analyses,it can be said that a blouse ingood touch with skin is pliable, soft, smooth, slippery, and easy to move. In addition,it has beenknown that "comfortableness" of a blouse upon weaning is largely influenced by the touch withskin. Further, the touch with skin was defined by the factors of softness, pliability, and smooth-ness on surface, and the factors of thickness, coolness and weight.展开更多

The collar shape was modeled by three-dimensional Bezier patch. Changing the position of consol points of the patch can interactively control the collar shape. Using triangular surface developing method, patterns of various styles of stand collar and separating collar were drafted. As the subsystem of 3D apparel design system, an interactive collar design system is constructed. To inspect the practical usage, we reproduced the collars using these patterns drafted by the interactive collar design system.Comparing with simulated collars, the system demonstrated well and we found it is more reliable and accurate than the method of handwork.展开更多
