Composite Li metal anodes based on three-dimensional(3D) porous frameworks have been considered as an effective material for achieving stable Li metal batteries with high energy density.However,uneven Li deposition be...Composite Li metal anodes based on three-dimensional(3D) porous frameworks have been considered as an effective material for achieving stable Li metal batteries with high energy density.However,uneven Li deposition behavior still occurs at the top of 3D frameworks owing to the local accumulation of Li ions.To promote uniform Li deposition without top dendrite growth,herein,a layered multifunctional framework based on oxidation-treated polyacrylonitrile(OPAN) and metal-organic framework(MOF) derivatives was proposed for rationally regulating the distribution of Li ions flux,nucleation sites,and electrical conductivity.Profiting from these merits,the OPAN/carbon nano fiber-MOF(CMOF) composite framework demonstrated a reversible Li plating/stripping behavior for 500 cycles with a stable Coulombic efficiency of around 99.0% at the current density of 2 mA/cm~2.Besides,such a Li composite anode exhibited a superior cycle lifespan of over 1300 h under a low polarized voltage of 18 mV in symmetrical cells.When the Li composite anode was paired with LiFePO_(4)(LFP) cathode,the obtained full cell exhibited a stable cycling over 500 cycles.Moreover,the COMSOL Multiphysics simulation was conducted to reveal the effects on homogeneous Li ions distribution derived from the above-mentioned OPAN/CMOF framework and electrical insulation/conduction design.These electrochemical and simulated results shed light on the difficulties of designing stable and safe Li metal anode via optimizing the 3D frameworks.展开更多

It is therefore highly important to study the mechanisms of soil erosion caused by jets after pipeline leaka...Jets caused by burst tubes erode the surrounding soil, eventually leading to issues such as ground collapse. It is therefore highly important to study the mechanisms of soil erosion caused by jets after pipeline leakage. To investigate the water-soil interaction mechanisms of pipe leakage, this study used transparent soil and developed a three-dimensional experimental device to observe the fluidization process. Changes in the boundary of the fluidization transition area were investigated, and a formula for calculating the soil damage area was derived. The results showed three different shapes of the fluidized cavity appearing in the fluidization process. The particles initially moved upward and then gradually transitioned into a state of backflow. The effects of particle size, upper load, and porosity on fluidization were also analyzed. It was found that soil with a large particle size and a lower porosity under a heavy upper load can effectively restrain fluidization. Therefore, large-diameter and dense soil can be used as pipe-covering material.展开更多

Hot compression deformation experiments were c...The hot deformation behaviors of a 9 Cr oxide dispersion-strengthened(9 Cr-ODS) steel fabricated by mechanical alloying and hot isostatic pressing(HIP) were investigated. Hot compression deformation experiments were conducted on a Gleeble 3500 simulator in a temperature range of 950–1100°C and strain rate range of 0.001–1 s^(-1). The constitutive equation that can accurately describe the relationship between the rheological stress and the strain rate of the 9 Cr-ODS steel was established, and the deformation activation energy was calculated as 780.817 kJ/mol according to the data obtained. The processing maps of 9 Cr-ODS in the strain range of 0.1–0.6 were also developed. The results show that the region with high power dissipation efficiency corresponds to a completely recrystallized structure. The optimal processing conditions were determined as a temperature range of 1000–1050°C with strain rate between 0.003 and 0.01 s^(-1).展开更多

A series of novel pyridine-containing polyimides were prepared v/a the polycondensation of BABP with various aromatic dianhydrides through poly(amic acid) precursors, and thermal or chemical imidization of the precursors. The polyimides exhibit desirable properties, e.g., good solubility in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone and m-cresol, excellent thermal stability and film-forming capability, as well as high inherent viscosity, indicating high molecular weight.展开更多

Schizophrenia is a common and serious mental illness characterized by severe impairments in thinking,emotions,and behaviors.Usually,the cognitive deficits of schizophrenia are closely associated with abnormal neurogen...Schizophrenia is a common and serious mental illness characterized by severe impairments in thinking,emotions,and behaviors.Usually,the cognitive deficits of schizophrenia are closely associated with abnormal neurogenesis due to the hypofunction of certain neural receptors such as N-methyl-D-aspartate receptors(NMDARs),which mediates neurotransmission.However,little is known about the involvement of NMDAR1 in regulating hippocampal neurogenesis in schizophrenia.In the current study,we present evidence suggesting that NMDAR1 regulates hippocampal neurogenesis as lentivirus-mediated shRNA silencing NMDAR1 gene or blocking with MK-801 results in abnormal neurogenesis consistently found in schizophrenia.The important finding was clearly demonstrated by the multiparametric assessments,including morphology,immunofluorescence,western blotting,and flow cytometry.Simultaneously,our results indicated that knockdown and blockade of NMDAR1 significantly attenuated the proliferation of hippocampal neural stem cells(hNSCs)and decreased the differentiation to neurons.More importantly,the blockade of NMDAR1 with MK-801 aggravated the apoptosis of hNSCs.Thus,it is likely that NMDAR1 functions as a new target for the treatment of schizophrenia.Our present study may provide a novel insight for further investigation of the pathogenesis of schizophrenia.展开更多
BACKGROUND PD-1 inhibitors in combination with fruquintinib have not previously been reported as neoadjuvant therapy for patients with colorectal cancer.In this case report,the combination of a PD-1 inhibitor and fruq...BACKGROUND PD-1 inhibitors in combination with fruquintinib have not previously been reported as neoadjuvant therapy for patients with colorectal cancer.In this case report,the combination of a PD-1 inhibitor and fruquintinib demonstrated good efficacy in patients with MSI-H colorectal cancer.CASE SUMMARY The patient was a young man in his 30s who had MSI-H type colon cancer.The patient underwent four cycles of neoadjuvant therapy with a PD-1 inhibitor combined with fruquintinib before surgery,resulting in regression of the mass and a successful surgery.CONCLUSION Some patients with colorectal cancer have the MSI-H type,and the first-line chemotherapy regimen is not effective.However,PD-1 monoclonal antibody immunotherapy has a good therapeutic effect,which can be improved by combination therapy with fruquintinib.We recommend that patients with a history of colon or rectal cancer receive universal MSI testing;then,neoadjuvant therapy should be used.展开更多

The expansion of protein topological diversity requires new and efficient synthetic tools.Herein,we report the second and third generations of the SpyStapler-mediated SpyTag/BDTag ligation system for the efficient syn...The expansion of protein topological diversity requires new and efficient synthetic tools.Herein,we report the second and third generations of the SpyStapler-mediated SpyTag/BDTag ligation system for the efficient synthesis of 4-arm star proteins and the repurposing of the third generation as an active template to enable the synthesis of higher-order protein[n]catenanes(n=3,4,and 5).SpyStapler003 has a higher affinity to its cognate SpyTag and BDTag reactive pairs relative to the original SpyStapler.Hence,it can overcome much more profound steric hindrance in protein ligation and improve the efficiency of the resulting active template tool to facilitate the construction of radial protein[n]catenanes.Various proteins of interest,such as dihydrofolate reductase and the nanobody KN035,can be modularly incorporated into the[n]catenanes with intact activity.Combination of passive and active template strategies gives rise to linear protein[4]catenanes,which further expands the current topological diversity.Moreover,higher-order protein catenation not only leads to enhanced thermal stability and proteolytic resistance but also higher affinity of the nanobody via multivalent effects.Our study provides tools useful for bioconjugation and new topological protein scaffolds for the multivalent display of enzymes and antibodies.展开更多
This review summarizes the self-assembly of block molecules forming unconventional two-dimensional(2D)periodic nanopatterns.Especially,we emphasize the structural evolution from simple columnar phases to complex 2D ti...This review summarizes the self-assembly of block molecules forming unconventional two-dimensional(2D)periodic nanopatterns.Especially,we emphasize the structural evolution from simple columnar phases to complex 2D tiling morphologies in soft materials including block copolymers,liquid crystals,giant molecules,etc.Then,the state-of-the-art nanofabrication technologies for making sophisticated nanostructures with specific functions via combining both bottom-up assembly and top-down lithography-based methods are discussed,highlighting the use of directed self-assembly processes.Finally,we provide our perspective on this area.By further increasing the complexity of block molecules and the designability of lithography,low-dimensional ordered morphologies will be particularly promising for further application in nanotechnology.展开更多
