This study aims to reveal the occurrence and origin of typical groundwater with high arsenic and fluoride concentrations in the loess area of the Guanzhong Basin—a Neogene faulted basin.Key findings are as follows:(1...This study aims to reveal the occurrence and origin of typical groundwater with high arsenic and fluoride concentrations in the loess area of the Guanzhong Basin—a Neogene faulted basin.Key findings are as follows:(1)Groundwater samples with high arsenic and fluoride concentrations collected from the loess area and the terraces of the Weihe River accounted for 26%and 30%,respectively,of the total samples,with primary hydrochemical type identified as HCO_(3)-Na.The karst and sand areas exhibit relatively high groundwater quality,serving as preferred sources for water supply.It is recommended that local governments fully harness groundwater in these areas;(2)groundwater with high arsenic and fluoride concentrations in the loess area and the alluvial plain of rivers in Dali County is primarily distributed within the Guanzhong Basin,which represents the drainage zone of groundwater;(3)arsenic and fluoride in groundwater originate principally from natural and anthropogenic sources;(4)the human health risk assessments reveal that long-term intake of groundwater with high arsenic and fluoride concentrations pose cancer or non-cancer risks,which are more serious to kids compared to adults.This study provides a theoretical basis for the prevention and treatment of groundwater with high arsenic and fluoride concentrations in loess areas.展开更多

Compared with patients who showed a preoperative NLR < 2.81 and postoperative increase, patients who showed preoperative NLR ≥ 2.81 and postoperative decrease had worse survival(DFS, P < 0.001; OS, P < 0.001). Among patients with preoperative NLR ≥ 2.81, survival was significantly higher among those showing a postoperative decrease in NLR than among those showing an increase(DFS, P < 0.001; OS, P < 0.001). When elevated, alpha-fetoprotein(AFP) provided no prognostic information, and so preoperative NLR ≥ 2.81 may be a good complementary indicator of poor OS whenever AFP levels are low or high.CONCLUSION: Preoperative NLR ≥ 2.81 may be an indicator of poor DFS and OS in patients with HCC undergoing surgery. Expression of COX-2 and EP1 receptor was examined by immunohistochemistry of formalin-fixed, paraffinembedded tissues using polyclonal antibodies. Possible associations between immunohistochemical scores and survival were determined.RESULTS Factors associated with poor overall survival(OS) were alpha-fetoprotein > 400 ng/m L, tumor size ≥ 5 cm, and high EP1 receptor expression, but not high COX-2 expression. Disease-free survival was not significantly different between patients with low or high levels of COX-2 or EP1. COX-2 immunoreactivity was significantly higher in well-differentiated HCC tissues(Edmondson grade Ⅰ-Ⅱ) than in poorly differentiated tissues(Edmondson grade Ⅲ-Ⅳ)(P = 0.003). Previous descriptions...Odorant-binding proteins (OBPs) and chemosensory proteins (CSPs) of insects are thought to play roles in olfactory recognition affecting host choice, copulation, reproduction and other behaviors. Previous descriptions of OBPs and CSPs in the whitefly Bemisia tabaci often provided no or incomplete genetic information. In this study, we present a genome-wide and transcriptome-wide investigation of the OBPs and CSPs in B. tabaci MEAMl (Middle East-Asia Minorl species). Eight OBP and 19 CSP genes were identified that covered all previous sequences. Phylogenetic analyses showed that the CSP genes had a lineage-specific expansion (BtabBCSP人 BtabBCSP3, BtabBCSPl3, BtabBCSPl 7, BtabBCSP18 and BtabBCSP 19). Expression profiling of OBPs and CSPs by transcriptome sequencing and quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) revealed that expression patterns differed among developmental stages of B. tabaci MEAM 1. Five OBP genes and 11 CSP genes significantly differed between males and females;four of the 19 CSP genes were highly expressed in adults, while two were highly expressed in nymphs. The expression profiles of the OBP and CSP genes in different tissues of B. tabaci MEAM1 adults were analyzed by qPCR. Four OBP genes found in B. tabaci MEAM 1 were highly expressed in the head. Conversely, only two CSPs were enriched in the head, while the other six CSPs were specifically expressed in other tissues. In machine translation(MT) practice,there is an urgent need for constructing a set of Chinese-to-English aspect transferring rules to define the transferring conditions.The integrated feature set was used to generaliz...In machine translation(MT) practice,there is an urgent need for constructing a set of Chinese-to-English aspect transferring rules to define the transferring conditions.The integrated feature set was used to generalize and justify the Chinese-to-English transferring rule of the 'ZHE' aspect(ZHE Rule).A ZHE classification model was built in this study.The impacts of each set of temporal,lexical aspectual,and syntactic features,and their integrated impacts,on the accuracy of the ZHE Rule were tested.Over 600 misclassified corpus sentences were manually examined.A 10-fold cross-validation was used with a decision tree algorithm.The main results are:(1) The ZHE Rule was generalized and justified to have a higher accuracy under the two metrics:the precision rate and the areas under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC).(2) The temporal,lexical aspectual,and syntactic feature sets have an integrated contribution to the accuracy of the ZHE Rule.The syntactic and temporal features have an impact on ZHE aspect derivations,while the lexical aspectual features are not predictive of ZHE aspect derivation.(3) While associated with active verbs,the ZHE aspect can denote a perfective situation.This study suggests that the temporal and syntactic features are the predictive ZHE aspect classification features and that the ZHE Rule with an overall precision rate of 80.1% is accurate enough to be further explored in MT practice.The machine learning method,decision tree,can be applied to the automatic aspect transferring in MT research and aspectual interpretations in linguistic research.展开更多
