A submerged bottom-sta...In this paper, wave-body interactions under the effects of complex topography are investigated numerically by a two-phase incompressible Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS) solver in OpenFOAM. A submerged bottom-standing structure is distributed below the floating body, and the effects of the water depth and top width of the submerged structure on wave-body interactions are studied. The results show that the submerged structure can affect wave loads and roll motion. The vertical force can be amplified on the fixed body when the water depth of the submerged structure is smaller than half of the water depth of the body. The top width significantly affects the vertical force when the top width is smaller than the incident wave length and larger than the body width. For the free-rolling body, roll amplitude can be increased when the ratio of the incident wave length to the water depth of the submerged structure is large enough. On the resonance condition, roll amplitude is slightly reduced by the submerged structure. The effects of the top width on roll amplitude are remarkable when special conditions are fulfilled.展开更多
Many discrete systems have more distinctive dynamical behaviors compared to continuous ones,which has led lots of researchers to investigate them.The discrete predatorprey model with two different functional responses...Many discrete systems have more distinctive dynamical behaviors compared to continuous ones,which has led lots of researchers to investigate them.The discrete predatorprey model with two different functional responses(Holling type I and II functional responses)is discussed in this paper,which depicts a complex population relationship.The local dynamical behaviors of the interior fixed point of this system are studied.The detailed analysis reveals this system undergoes flip bifurcation and Neimark-Sacker bifurcation.Especially,we prove the existence of Marotto's chaos by analytical method.In addition,the hybrid control method is applied to control the chaos of this system.Numerical simulations are presented to support our research and demonstrate new dynamical behaviors,such as period-10,19,29,39,48 orbits and chaos in the sense of Li-Yorke.展开更多
C-repeat binding factors(CBFs)are well-known transcription factors(TFs)that regulate plant cold acclimation.RNA sequencing(RNA-seq)data from diverse plant species provide opportunities to identify other TFs involved i...C-repeat binding factors(CBFs)are well-known transcription factors(TFs)that regulate plant cold acclimation.RNA sequencing(RNA-seq)data from diverse plant species provide opportunities to identify other TFs involved in the cold response.However,this task is challenging because gene gain and loss has led to an intertwined community of co-orthologs and in-paralogs between and within species.Using orthogroup(closely related homologs)analysis,we identified 10,549 orthogroups in five representative eudicots.A phylotranscriptomic analysis of cold-treated seedlings from eudicots identified 35 high-confidence conserved cold-responsive transcription factor orthogroups(CoCoFos).These 35 CoCoFos included the well-known cold-responsive regulators CBFs,HSFC1,ZAT6/10,and CZF1 among others.We used Arabidopsis BBX29 for experimental validation.Expression and genetic analyses showed that cold-induction of BBX29 is CBF-and abscisic acid-independent,and BBX29 is a negative regulator of cold tolerance.Integrative RNA-seq and Cleavage Under Targets and Tagmentation followed by sequencing analyses revealed that BBX29 represses a set of cold-induced TFs(ZAT12,PRR9,RVE1,MYB96,etc.).Altogether,our analysis yielded a library of eudicot CoCoFos and demonstrated that BBX29 is a negative regulator of cold tolerance in Arabidopsis.展开更多
