China’s past economic growth has substantially relied on fossil fuels,causing serious air pollution issues.Decoupling economic growth and pollution has become the focus in developing ecological civilization in China....China’s past economic growth has substantially relied on fossil fuels,causing serious air pollution issues.Decoupling economic growth and pollution has become the focus in developing ecological civilization in China.We have analyzed the three-decade progress of air pollution controls in China,highlighting a strategic transformation from emission control toward air quality management.Emission control of sulfur dioxide(SO2)resolved the deteriorating acid rain issue in China in 2007.Since 2013,control actions on multiple precursors and sectors have targeted the reduction of the concentration of fine particulate matter(PM2.5),marking a transition to an air-quality-oriented strategy.Increasing ozone(O3)pollution further requires O3 and PM2.5 integrated control strategies with an emphasis on their complex photochemical interactions.Fundamental improvement of air quality in China,as a key indicator for the success of ecological civilization construction,demands the deep de-carbonization of China’s energy system as well as more synergistic pathways to address air pollution and global climate change simultaneously.展开更多
In this study, we investigated whether a single nucleotide polymorphism (rs42524 G 〉 C) in the type I alpha 2 collagen gene was associated with sporadic ruptured intracranial aneurysm or its clinical characteristic...In this study, we investigated whether a single nucleotide polymorphism (rs42524 G 〉 C) in the type I alpha 2 collagen gene was associated with sporadic ruptured intracranial aneurysm or its clinical characteristics in patients from Northeast China. Genotyping of the rs42524 G 〉 C polymorphism was carried out using a polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism assay. The data showed that the frequency of the rs42524 GC + CC genotype was significantly higher than the GG genotype among intracranial aneurysm patients whose Hunt and Hess grading scale was 〉 3. In addition, the rs42524 G 〉 C genotype was found to have a statistically significant association with intracranial aneurysm risk. These findings indicate that the type I alpha 2 collagen gene gene may be involved in a predisposition to intracranial aneurysm in the Northeast Chinese population. Crucially, the rs42524 C allele may be an important risk factor for increased severity of the condition in patients with ruptured intracranial aneurysms.展开更多

A total of 15,697 Differentially Expressed Genes (DEGs) with pathway annotation were discovered in RNA-Seq of the faba bean seeds. A total of 75 significant KEGG pathways abundance were discovered and 9 pathways were conserved within all genotypes. 41 significant pathways were found to be partially conserved within comparisons of 2 to 6 pairs of genotypes and 25 significant pathways were unique to single pairs of genotypes. There were 8 specific significant pathways discovered related to the faba bean seed Hydration Capacity trait and 9 specific significant pathways discovered related to the PSbMV seeds staining trait. The DEGs demonstrated the genetic distance between these varieties was confirmed by the breeding pedigree selection information and a PCA graph clearly illustrated the genetic distance within these genotypes.展开更多
Background To investigate the classification and microsurgical treatment of foramen magnum meningioma(FMM).Methods We retrospectively analyzed 76 patients with FMM and classified them into two classifications,classifi...Background To investigate the classification and microsurgical treatment of foramen magnum meningioma(FMM).Methods We retrospectively analyzed 76 patients with FMM and classified them into two classifications,classification ABS according to the relationship between the FMM and the brainstem and classification SIM according to the relationship between the FMM and the vertebral artery(VA).All patients underwent either the far lateral approach(54 cases)or the suboccipital midline approach(22 cases).Results Of the 76 cases,47 cases were located ahead of the brainstem(A),16 cases at the back of the brainstem(B),and 13 cases were located laterally to the brainstem(S).There were 15 cases located superior to the VA(S),49 cases were inferior(I),and 12 cases were mixed type(M).Among 76 cases,71 cases were resected with Simpson grade 2(93.42%),3 with Simpson grade 3(3.95%),and 2 with Simpson grade 4(2.63%).We summarized four anatomical triangles:triangles SOT,VOT,JVV,and TVV.The mean postoperative Karnofsky performance score was improved in all patients(p<0.05).However,several complications occurred,including hoarseness and CSF leak.Conclusion ABS and SIM classifications are objective indices for choosing the surgical approach and predicting the difficulty of FMMs,and it is of great importance to master the content,position relationship with the tumor,and variable anatomical structures in the four"triangles"for the success of the operation.展开更多

This paper describes requirements and design principles of an electric motor drive and variable pitch tail rotor system. A particular spoke-type architecture of the motor is designed, and the performance of blades is analyzed by the CFD method. The demand for simplicity of moving parts and strict constraints on the weight of a helicopter makes the design of electrical and mechanical components challenging. Different solutions have been investigated to propose an effective alternative to the mechanical actuation system. A test platform is constructed which can collect the dynamic response of the thrust control. The enhancement of the response speed due to an individual motor speed control and variable-pitch system is validated.展开更多
Bloodebrain barrier(BBB)damage after ischemia significantly influences stroke outcome.Compound LFHP-1 c was previously discovered with neuroprotective role in stroke model,but its mechanism of action on protection of ...Bloodebrain barrier(BBB)damage after ischemia significantly influences stroke outcome.Compound LFHP-1 c was previously discovered with neuroprotective role in stroke model,but its mechanism of action on protection of BBB disruption after stroke remains unknown.Here,we show that LFHP-1 c,as a direct PGAM5 inhibitor,prevented BBB disruption after transient middle cerebral artery occlusion(tMCAO)in rats.Mechanistically,LFHP-1 c binding with endothelial PGAM5 not only inhibited the PGAM5 phosphatase activity,but also reduced the interaction of PGAM5 with NRF2,which facilitated nuclear translocation of NRF2 to prevent BBB disruption from ischemia.Furthermore,LFHP-1 c administration by targeting PGAM5 shows a trend toward reduced infarct volume,brain edema and neurological deficits in nonhuman primate Macaca fascicularis model with t MCAO.Thus,our study identifies compound LFHP-1 c as a firstly direct PGAM5 inhibitor showing amelioration of ischemia-induced BBB disruption in vitro and in vivo,and provides a potentially therapeutics for brain ischemic stroke.展开更多

The most timeconsuming step is the evaluation of the induced velocity. Supposing that the number of bound and wake lattices is N and the computational cost is O (N2), we present an OeNT Dipole Panel Fast Multipole Method(DPFMM) for the rapid evaluation of the induced velocity in UVLM. The multipole expansion coefficients of a quadrilateral dipole panel have been derived in spherical coordinates, whose accuracy is the same as that of the Biot-Savart kernel at the same truncation degree P.Two methods(the loosening method and the shrinking method) are proposed and tested for space partitioning volumetric panels. Compared with FMM for vortex filaments(with three harmonics),DPFMM is approximately two times faster for N2 [103,106]. The simulation time of a multirotor(N~104) is reduced from 100 min(with unaccelerated direct solver) to 2 min(with DPFMM).展开更多
