A novel experimental method is proposed for observing plasma dynamics subjected to magnetic fields based on a newly developed cylindrical theta-pinch device.By measuring simultaneously the temporal profiles of multiple parameters including the drive current,luminosity,plasma density,and plasma temperature,it provides a basis for observing the plasma dynamics of the theta pinch,such as shock transport and magnetohydrodynamic instability.We show that the plasma evolution can be distinguished as three phases.First,in the radial implosion phase,the trajectories of the current sheath and shock wave are ascertained by combining experimental data with a snowplow model(Lee model)in a self-consistent way.Second,in the axial flow phase,we demonstrate that m=0(sausage)instability associated with the plasma axial flow suppresses the plasma end-loss.Third,in the newly observed anomalous heating phase,the lower-hybrid-drift instability may develop near the current sheath,which induces anomalous resistivity and enhanced plasma heating.The present experimental data and novel method offer better understanding of plasma dynamics in the presence of magnetic fields,thereby providing important support for relevant research in magneto-inertial fusion. 展开更多

Healthy aging is the ultimate goal of all life science research and the most ideal state of a human being. There are many factors that affect aging, including genetic background, the environment, mental state and living habits and so on, which affect the body’s internal environment and its steady state. The ultimate starting point of the body’s aging all comes down to cellular aging. At the cellular level, aging is an irreversible block in the cell cycle, and the P53 gene plays a pivotal role in regulating the cell cycle. Aging is not only regulated by genes but also influenced by epigenetics affecting gene expression. DNA methylation, a novel biomarker of aging, plays a major role in epigenetics. This paper’s mini-review briefly summarizes P53 and DNA methylation in aging. 展开更多

Connectivity of fish assemblages along the mangrove-seagrasscoral reef continuum in Wenchang, China 被引量:1

Understanding the connectivity of fish among different typical habitats is important for conducting ecosystembased management, particularly when designing marine protected areas(MPA) or setting MPA networks. To clarify of connectivity among mangrove, seagrass beds, and coral reef habitats in Wenchang, Hainan Province,China, the fish community structure was studied in wet and dry seasons of 2018. Gill nets were placed across the three habitat types, and the number of species, individuals, and body size of individual fish were recorded. In total, 3 815 individuals belonging to 154 species of 57 families were collected. The highest number of individuals and species was documented in mangroves(117 species, 2 623 individuals), followed by coral reefs(61 species,438 individuals) and seagrass beds(46 species, 754 individuals). The similarity tests revealed highly significant differences among the three habitats. Approximately 23.4% species used two habitats and 11.0% species used three habitats. A significant difference(p<0.05) in habitat use among eight species(Mugil cephalus, Gerres oblongus, Siganus fuscescens, Terapon jarbua, Sillago maculata, Upeneus tragula, Lutjanus russellii, and Monacanthus chinensis) was detected, with a clear ontogenetic shift in habitat use from mangrove or seagrass beds to coral reefs. The similarity indices suggested that fish assemblages can be divided into three large groups namely coral, seagrass, and mangrove habitat types. This study demonstrated that connectivity exists between mangrove–seagrass–coral reef continuum in Wenchang area;therefore, we recommend that fish connectivity should be considered when designing MPAs or MPA network where possible. 展开更多

By combining satellite tracking,land-cover extracted from Landsite 8 images,and the traditional stable isotope analysis,we studied the habitat selection and food preference of a vulnerable migratory waterbird,the Whitenaped Crane(Grus vipio),in one of its key stagging sites,the Shandian River Basin in the semi-arid northern China,to provide knowledge that is critical for its conservation in the Anthropocene.Our results showed that the White-naped Cranes used both uplands and natural wetlands in the stopover site.While the cranes used farmland and natural land cover equally as night-time roosting grounds,they spent most daytime foraging at farmlands.Despite the extensive usage of croplands as their foraging ground,the Bayesian mixing models based on stable isotopic analysis revealed that crop residues after harvesting,such as Maize(Zea mays)and Naked Oat(Avena chinensis),were only a small fraction of the White-naped Cranes’diet(~19%),and their diet composited mainly natural plants,such as Allium ledebourianum,Potentilla anserina,and P.tanacetifoli.Moreover,more than 20%of the total wetlands in the region were modelled as home range of the cranes.On contrast,less than 10%of croplands and about 1%of the unused uplands were identified as home range.In addition,the entire core habitats were located in natural wetlands.Our findings demonstrated the importance of natural wetlands for the survival of the threatened crane.However,the satellite-derived land cover data showed that croplands increased rapidly in the last decade in this area,at the expense of natural wetlands.With the sharp decrease of White-naped Crane population in China,the conservation of stopover sites becomes imperative.Based on our analysis,we recommend the following management actions:conserving adequate natural wetland area,regulating anthropogenic pressures such as the use of herbicides,expanding the duration and extent of current conservation regulations,establishing a comprehensive monitoring program,and initiating basin-scale ecological restoration,for effective conservation of this threatened species.These integrated conservation strategies for migratory waterbirds are necessary,considering the rapid land-cover changes and agricultural expansion that have been occurring in East Asian-Australasian Flyway,especially in the semi-arid temperate zone. 展开更多

目的:旨在探讨电针联合芪倍合剂治疗IBSD的短期和远期疗效。方法:2012年7月至2016年6月新乡医学院第一附属医院消化科门诊和住院的644例确诊为肠易激综合征的病人,采用随机方法分为4组:电针组、芪倍合剂组、联合治疗组及西药组,每组161... 目的:旨在探讨电针联合芪倍合剂治疗IBSD的短期和远期疗效。方法:2012年7月至2016年6月新乡医学院第一附属医院消化科门诊和住院的644例确诊为肠易激综合征的病人,采用随机方法分为4组:电针组、芪倍合剂组、联合治疗组及西药组,每组161例。电针组针刺足三里、肝俞、脾俞、太冲及脐中四边穴,每日1次,共4周;芪倍合剂组予芪倍合剂50 mL口服,每日2次;联合治疗组则予上述电针针刺及芪倍合剂治疗;西药组口服复方地芬诺酯1片,每日2次,蒙脱石散3 g,每日3次,阿米替林25 mg,每日两次。评价4组患者治疗前、治疗结束时及治疗结束后60周排便次数、大便性状、伴随症状评分、生活质量评分及不良反应。结果:与治疗前比较,治疗结束时各组排便次数、大便性状和伴随症状评分均明显下降(P<0.01),生活质量评分明显上升(P<0.01),联合治疗组上述指标优于其他组(均P<0.05)。与治疗结束时比较,治疗后6周上述指标在电针组和联合治疗组无明显反复(P>0.05),在芪倍合剂组和对照组则明显反复(均P<0.05),联合治疗组短期和远期总有效率均显著高于其他组的总有效率(P<0.05,P<0.01),各组均无严重不良反应发生。结论:电针和芪倍合剂均能显著减少IBSD患者排便次数,改善大便性状,缓解伴随症状,提高生活质量,但联合使用效果更好,并具有较好的安全性和近远期疗效。 展开更多

A highly sensitive fluorescent sensor ZnDN was designed,synthesized and used for tracking intracellular zinc ions in various living cells and direct imaging of prostatic tissue in mice.ZnDN was prepared from the heterocyclic-fused naphthalimide fluorophore,and the zinc receptor,N,N-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)ethylenediamine(BPEN).Upon addition of Zn2+to the solutions of ZnDN,a remarkable fluorescence enhancement was observed,which could be attributed to the photo-induced electron transfer(PET)mechanism.Since ZnDN exhibited high sensitivity toward Zn2+in phosphate buffer solution,with a limit of detection of 4.0 x 10-9 mol/L,it was further applied for the imaging of exogenous and endogenous Zn21 in different living cells.Living cells imaging experiments suggested that ZnDN could image the changes of intracellular free zinc ions,and could be used for two-photon imaging.Moreover,flow cytometry suggested that ZnDN could distinguish cancerous prostate cells from normal cells.Animal experiments indicated that ZnDN had the potential in imaging prostate tissue in vivo. 展开更多
