In this paper, the intermolecular and intramolecular reductive coupling reactions of ketones with esters mediated by metallic samarium (Sm) and a catalytic amount of titanium tetrachloride (TiCl4) were successfully de- veloped. A series of substituted ketones and cyclic β-keto-esters were prepared in moderate to good yields under reflux and neutral conditions.展开更多

Presumably, the diselenides are cleaved by Sm/TMSCl system to form selenide anions, which then undergo SN2′ substitution of Baylis-Hillman adducts to produce the (Z)-allyl selenides.展开更多

文摘Amides can be obtained in good to excellent yield by Sm/TiCl4 mediated reductive cleavage of N=N bond in azo compounds and successive acylation in one pot. It offers an alternative method for the synthesis of amides from very simple starting materials directly.
