The applications of supramolecular metal-peptide assemblies as catalyst or catalyst precursor have recent attracted increasing attentions. In this work,a fragment of the amyloid β-peptide,NH_(2)-KLVFF-COOH,was assembled into nanofilms with encapsulated Pd,Pt and Au nanoparticles(NPs)via a one-step room temperature electron induction method. The effects of building block, intermolecular interaction, driving force and side-chain on the assembly were investigated. The assembly mechanism was thereby proposed. The crosslinking of peptide monomers results in mainly random and unordered structures. The obtained metal-peptide assemblies are extremely stable in water at neutral pH for long term. However, the metal NPs are able to be responsively released under basic and reductive conditions. The released NPs show a high activity to catalyze the reduction of 4-nitrophenol.The present studies on assembly mechanism and responsive release will be helpful for the design of organic skeletons and also for the future development of peptide stabilized metallic NPs with applications beyond catalysts. 展开更多

Graphene-based terahertz(THz)metasurfaces combined with metallic antennas have the advantages of ultrasmall thickness, electrical tunability, and fast tuning speed. However, their tuning ability is limited by nonindependently tunable pixels and low modulation depth due to the ultra-small thickness of graphene. Here,we demonstrate a reconfigurable THz phase modulator with 5×5 independently tunable units enabled by switching the voltages applied on 10 graphene ribbons prepared by laser cutting. In addition,by introducing quasibound states in the continuum resonance through a designed double C-shaped antenna, the efficiency of the device is enhanced by 2.7–3.6 times under different graphene chemical potentials.Experimental results demonstrate that a focus can be formed, and the focal length is changed from 14.3 mm to 22.6 mm.This work provides potential for compact THz spatial light modulators that may be applied in THz communication, detection, and imaging. 展开更多

Simultaneously boosting acetylene hydrochlorination activity and avoiding formation of explosive copper acetylide over Cu-based catalyst, which represented a promising alternative to Hg-based and noble metal catalysts, remained challenging.Herein,we fabricated a frustrated single-atom Cu/O Lewis pair catalyst(Cu/O-FLP)by coupling epoxide group(C-O-C)with atomdispersed Cu-cis-N_(2)C_(2)Cl center to address this challenge. The basic epoxy site modulated the electron-deficient state of Lewisacidic Cu center and paired with the Cu-cis-N_(2)C_(2)Cl moiety to preferentially break HCl into different electronegative Cu-Clδ-and C-O-H^(δ+)intermediates,which further induced both an extra localized electric field to polarize acetylene and a upshift of the dband center of catalyst, thereby promoting adsorption and enrichment of acetylene by enhancing the dipolar interaction between acetylene and active intermediates. Moreover, the generated Cu-Clδ-and C-O-H^(δ+)drastically reduced the energy barrier of ratelimiting step and made vinyl chloride easier to desorb from the Lewis-basic oxygen-atom site rather than traditional Lewis-acidic Cu center. These superiorities ensured a higher activity of Cu/O-FLP compared with its counterparts.Meanwhile, preferential dissociation of HCl endowed single-atom Cu with the coordination-saturated configuration, which impeded formation of explosive copper acetylide by avoiding the direct interaction between Cu and acetylene, ensuring the intrinsic safety during catalysis. 展开更多

During the 2016-17 and 2018-19 running periods, the BESIII experiment collected 7.5 fb of e^(+)e^(-)collision data at center-of-mass energies ranging from 4.13 to 4.44 GeV.These data samples are primarily used for the study of excited charmonium and charmoniumlike states.By analyzing the di-muon process e^(+)e^(-)→(γISR=FSR)μ^(+)μ^(-),we measure the center-of-mass energies of the data samples with a precision of 0.6 MeV.Through a run-by-run study,we find that the center-of-mass energies were stable throughout most of the data-collection period. 展开更多

There has recently been a dramatic renewal of interest in hadron spectroscopy and charm physics. This renaissance has been driven in part by the discovery of a plethora of charmonium-like XYZ states at BESⅢ and B factories, and the observation of an intriguing proton-antiproton threshold enhancement and the possibly related X(1835) meson state at BESⅢ, as well as the threshold measurements of charm mesons and charm baryons. We present a detailed survey of the important topics in tau-charm physics and hadron physics that can be further explored at BESⅢ during the remaining operation period of BEPCⅡ. This survey will help in the optimization of the data-taking plan over the coming years, and provides physics motivation for the possible upgrade of BEPCⅡ to higher luminosity. 展开更多

Using a dedicated data sample taken in 2018 on the J/ψpeak,we perform a detailed study of the trigger efficiencies of the BESIII detector. The efficiencies are determined from three representative physics processes, namely Bhabha scattering, dimuon production and generic hadronic events with charged particles. The combined efficiency of all active triggers approaches 100%in most cases, with uncertainties small enough not to affect most physics analyses. 展开更多

In recent years, surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) has developed rapidly and is used for the detection of molecules and biomolecules in liquids. However, few studies have focused on SERS using a water surface as the substrate. A floating metal film on water is desirable for an enhanced SERS performance. In this work, silver nanopartides (Ag NPs) encased in poly(vinylpyrrolidone) films (Ag-PVP films) were synthesized on the surface of an aqueous solution by room temperature electron reduction. A floating silver film on a water surface was thereby achieved and is reported for the first time. The synthesized Ag-PVP film is an excellent flexible substrate for SERS and has other potential appli- cations. Using the floating silver film as a flexible SERS substrate, 10-11 M of 4-aminothiophenol, 10^-6 M of riboflavin, 10^-9 M of 4-mercaptobenzoic acid, 10^-7 M of 4-mercaptophenol, and 10^-7 M of 4-aminobenzoic acid are identified, demonstrating potential use for the floating substrate in the liquid-phase detection of molecules. 展开更多

Using inclusive decays of J/ψ aprecise determination of the number of J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector was performed. For the two data sets taken in 2009 and 2012,the numbers of J/ψ events were recalculated to be(224.0±1.3)×10^(6) and(1088.5±4.4)×10^(6),respectively;these numbers are in good agreement with the previous measurements. For the J/ψ sample taken in 2017-2019,the number of events was determined to be(8774.0±39.4)×10^(6).The total number of J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector was determined to be(10087±44)×10^(6),where the uncertainty is dominated by systematic effects, and the statistical uncertainty is negligible. 展开更多

Studies of e^+e~→D_s^+■^((*)0)K^-and the P-wave charmed-strange mesons are performed based on an e^+e^-collision data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 567 pb^(-1) collected with the BESIII detector at s^(1/2)=4.600 GeV. The processes of e^+e^-→D_s^+■^(*0)K^- and D_s^+■~0K^- are observed for the first time and are found to be dominated by the modes D_s^+D_(s1)(2536)^-and D_s^+D_(s2)~*(2573)^-, respectively. The Born cross sections are measured to be σ~B(e^+e^-→D_s^+■^(*0)K^-) =(10.1±2.3±0.8) pb and σ~B(e^+e^-→D_s^+■~0K^-) =(19.4±2.3± 1.6) pb, and the products of Born cross section and the decay branching fraction are measured to be σ~B(e^+e^-→D_s^+D_(s1)(2536)^-+c.c.)·B(D_(s1)(2536)^-→■^(*0)K^-)=(7.5±1.8±0.7) pb and σ~B(e^+e^-→D_s^+D_(s2)~*(2573)^-+ c.c.)·B(D_(s2)~*(2573)^-→■~0 K^-)=(19.7 ± 2.9 ±2.0) pb. For the D_(s1)(2536)^-and D_(s2)~*(2573)^-mesons, the masses and widths are measured to be M(D_(s1)(2536)^-)=(2537.7±0.5 ±3.1) MeV/c2, Γ(D_(s1)(2536)^-) =(1.7 ±1.2 ±0.6)MeV, and M(D_(s2)~*(2573)^-)=(2570.7±2.0 ±1.7) MeV/c^2, Γ(D_(s2)~*(2573)^-)=(17.2 ±3.6 ±1.1) MeV. The spin-parity of the D_(s2)~*(2573)^-meson is determined to be J^p= 2^+. In addition, the processes e^+e^-→D_s^+■^((*)0)K^-are searched for using the data samples taken at four(two) center-of-mass energies between 4.416(4.527) and 4.575 GeV, and upper limits at the 90% confidence level on the cross sections are determined. 展开更多

To investigate the nature of the Ψ(3770) resonance and to measure the cross section for e^+e^-→DD, a cross-section scan data sample, distributed among 41 center-of-mass energy points from 3.73 to 3.89 GeV, was taken with the BESIII detector operated at the BEPCII collider in the year 2010. By analyzing the large angle Bhabha scattering events, we measure the integrated luminosity of the data sample at each center-of-mass energy point. The total integrated luminosity of the data sample is 76.16±0.04±0.61 pb^-1, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. 展开更多
