Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus(PRRSV) has been mutating and evolving constantly since its emergence in the1980s, which has brought inestimable economic losses to the global swine industry. The vir...Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus(PRRSV) has been mutating and evolving constantly since its emergence in the1980s, which has brought inestimable economic losses to the global swine industry. The virus has two genotypes, of which genotype 1 PRRSV(PRRSV 1) first broke out in Germany and mainly prevailed in Europe, which can be clustered into four subtypes based on the ORF5 sequence. Al-though few cases of PRRSV 1 have been reported in China, the prevention and control of PRRSV should not be ignored. The origin of PRRSV, ge-netic evolution and pathogenicity of PRRSV 1 were retrospectively analyzed, in order to provide valuable evidences for molecular epidemiology and immune prevention and control of PRRSV 1.展开更多
The adjudication and amnesty system in the Song Dynasty has been thoroughly researched by academia,but the annual death penalty numbers have not been credibly determined due to insufficient and disorganized historical...The adjudication and amnesty system in the Song Dynasty has been thoroughly researched by academia,but the annual death penalty numbers have not been credibly determined due to insufficient and disorganized historical records.The period's policy that no innocent person would be executed was based on the double-digit record of capital punishments for Zhenguan during the Tang Dynasty,and the execution number was adjusted accordingly.As a special procedure,Zoucai(a request for judgment)was used to reduce the death penalty numbers.The value of human life,concern about excessive execution,and trimming of the capital punishment regime resulted in conversations between the emperors and their officials about the death penalty,which allowed the law that executed capital punishments during the Song Dynasty to strike a proper balance between justice,efficiency,and mercy,while avoiding rigidity and abuse.展开更多

The first part is a summary and comments on Honorable Rollin A. Van Broekhoven's survey of the natural law tradition and its relevance to the analysis of the controversial U.S. Supreme Court decisions. Then it addresses Mencius and the Chinese natural law tradition based on the researches of Hu Shih and John C. H. Wu, and the affinity of the natural theories of Meneius and Thomas Aquinas are explored. The third part analyses the sensational case ofYu Huan (2017) from the point of view of natural law and takes it as an example of the relevance of natural law to the theory and practice of contemporary Chinese law.展开更多
