Background:Colorectal cancer(CRC)is a common gastrointestinal malignancy.The T lymphocyte subsets are important in the develop-ment,invasion and metastasis of tumors,including CRC.Nevertheless,limited research has exp...Background:Colorectal cancer(CRC)is a common gastrointestinal malignancy.The T lymphocyte subsets are important in the develop-ment,invasion and metastasis of tumors,including CRC.Nevertheless,limited research has explored the relationship between T cell subpopu-lations and the clinical characteristics of CRC.This study compared the T lymphocyte subsets in patients with CRC and healthy individuals,and assessed the relationship between these values and clinical characteristics.Methods:Peripheral blood was collected from 100 patients with CRC and 54 healthy individuals.The numbers of CD3^(+)T,CD4^(+)T,and CD8^(+)T lymphocytes,NK cells,and the CD4^(+)T/CD8^(+)T ratio in peripheral blood were measured using flow cytometry,and were compared between CRC patients and healthy individuals.Spearman's correlation analysis was performed to investigate the relationship between the T lymphocyte subsets in patients diagnosed with CRC and the levels of carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA)and thymidine kinase 1(TK1).Receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves were utilized to evaluate the potential utility of the T lymphocyte counts in predicting lymph node metastasis,vas-cular infiltration,and high Ki-67 expression.Results:The CRC patients had lower counts of CD3^(+)T,CD4^(+)T,and CD8^(+)T lymphocytes compared to the healthy population(P<0.05).However,no significant differences were observed in the CD4^(+)/CD8^(+)ratio or NK cells(P>0.05).Notably,the CD3^(+)T,CD4^(+)T,and CD8^(+)T lym-phocyte counts were higher in patients with stageⅠ-Ⅱdisease,no lymph node metastasis,no vascular invasion,and low Ki-67 expression than in those with stageⅢ,lymph node metastasis,vascular invasion,and high Ki-67 expression(P<0.05).There was a negative association be-tween the CD3^(+)T,CD4^(+)T,and CD8^(+)T lymphocyte counts and CEA and TK1 levels in patients with CRC.The ROC curves demonstrated that CD3^(+)T,CD4^(+)T,and CD8^(+)T lymphocyte counts had significant predictive value for lymph node metastasis,vascular infiltration,and high Ki-67 expression.Conclusions:The peripheral blood CD3^(+)T,CD4^(+)T,and CD8^(+)T lymphocyte counts are related to the clinical traits of patients with CRC and can predict the prognosis of the disease.展开更多

Methods Altogether 1900 patients were examined by MDCT from Decemb...Objective To determine if multi-detector CT (MDCT) characterization of plaque is corre-lated with the classification of acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Methods Altogether 1900 patients were examined by MDCT from December 2007 to May 2009, of whom 95 patients fulfilled the criteria of ACS. Those patients were divided into the discrete plaque group (n=61) and diffuse plaque group (n=34) based on the findings in MDCT. The clinical diagnosis of ACS and CT results were analyzed, including segment stenosis score, segment involvement score, 3-vessel plaque score, left main score, calcification score, and re-modeling index. The incidences of major adverse cardiac events in follow-up period were also recorded. Results The patients of the diffuse plaque group were older than those of the discrete plaque group (P<0.0001). The diffuse plaque group presented more cases of hypertension, pe-ripheral artery disease, diabetes, and heart failure than discrete plaque group (all P<0.05). All the 5 patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction were found in discrete plaque group. The segment stenosis score of the discrete plaque group was lower than that of the diffuse plaque group (5.15±3.55 vs. 14.91±5.37, P<0.001). The other four scores demonstrated significant inter-group difference as well (all P<0.05). The remodeling index of the discrete plaque group was higher (1.12±0.16 vs. 0.97±0.20, P<0.05). Follow-up data showed that major adverse cardiac events occurred more frequently in diffuse plaque group than in discrete group (29.41% vs. 11.48%, P=0.0288). Conclusions Characteristics of discrete and diffuse plaques may be significantly different among different classes of ACS. The diffuse plaque may present higher risk, correlated to higher mortality. The diagnosis of discrete and diffuse plaques by MDCT would provide a new insight into the prognosis and treatment of ACS.展开更多
Alkali-metal atomic magnetometers employing longitudinal carrier magnetic field have ultrahigh sensitivity to measure transverse magnetic fields and have been applied in a variety of precise-measurement science and te...Alkali-metal atomic magnetometers employing longitudinal carrier magnetic field have ultrahigh sensitivity to measure transverse magnetic fields and have been applied in a variety of precise-measurement science and technologies.In practice,the magnetometer response is not rigorously proportional to the measured transverse magnetic fields and the existing fundamental analytical model of this magnetometer is effective only when the amplitudes of the measured fields are very small.In this paper,we present a modified analytical model to characterize the practical performance of the magnetometer more definitely.We find out how the longitudinal magnetization of the alkali metal atoms vary with larger transverse fields.The linear-response capacity of the magnetometer is determined by these factors:the amplitude and frequency of the longitudinal carrier field,longitudinal and transverse spin relaxation time of the alkali spins and rotation frequency of the transverse fields.We give a detailed and rigorous theoretical derivation by using the perturbation-iteration method and simulation experiments are conducted to verify the validity and correctness of the proposed modified model.This model can be helpful for measuring larger fields more accurately and configuring a desirable magnetometer with proper linear range.展开更多
Objective:To study the effect of adjuvant N-acetylcysteine (NAC) effervescent tablets therapy on cardiopulmonary function and airway remodeling in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).Meth...Objective:To study the effect of adjuvant N-acetylcysteine (NAC) effervescent tablets therapy on cardiopulmonary function and airway remodeling in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).Methods: Patients with stable COPD treated in Zigong Third People's Hospital and West China Hospital, Sichuan University between May 2014 and October 2016 were selected and randomly divided into two groups, NAC group received N-acetylcysteine effervescent tablets combined with routine treatment, and control group received routine treatment. Before treatment as well as 2 weeks and 4 weeks after treatment, oxidative stress indexes and airway remodeling indexes in serum as well as inflammatory response indexes in peripheral blood were determined.Results: MDA, PC, 8-OHdG, MMP2, MMP3 and MMP9 contents in serum as well as NLRP3, ASC, p38MAPK and TREM-1 mRNA expression levels in peripheral blood mononuclear cells of both groups of patients after treatment were significantly lower than those before treatment while TAC levels as well as TIMP1 and TIMP2 contents in serum were significantly higher than those before treatment, and MDA, PC, 8-OHdG, MMP2, MMP3 and MMP9 contents in serum a well as NLRP3, ASC, p38MAPK and TREM-1 mRNA expression levels in peripheral blood mononuclear cells of NAC group after treatment were significantly lower than those of control group while TAC levels as well as TIMP1 and TIMP2 contents in serum were significantly higher than those of control group.Conclusion:Adjuvant NAC effervescent tablets treatment of stable COPD can improve the effect of oxidative stress and inflammatory response on cardiopulmonary function, and inhibit the airway remodeling caused by protease activation.展开更多

In this study, a general analytical method of designing the shielded coils for generating an arbitrary axial magnetic field is proposed. The theoretical formula for an axial magnetic field generated by a single shielded coil is obtained and used to construct specific coils. The structural parameters of these coils are determined by fitting the theoretical formula with their specific requirements. The feasibility of this method is proved by realizing four concrete kinds of coils: uniform magnetic field generating coils, gradient magnetic field generating coils, asymmetrical uniform magnetic field generating coils, and parabolic magnetic field generating coils. The correctness of these theoretical results is demonstrated by both the finite element simulations and the relevant experimental results. Furthermore, the application of this method is of great significance for developing the quantum physics and quantum devices in future.展开更多
Two-dimensional(2D)nanomaterials have aroused immense attention in extensive applications due to their intriguing physical and chemical properties.However,there is a formidable challenge to prepare few-layered and fun...Two-dimensional(2D)nanomaterials have aroused immense attention in extensive applications due to their intriguing physical and chemical properties.However,there is a formidable challenge to prepare few-layered and functionalized 2D nanomaterials in an effective and universal way.Herein,we developed an integrated strategy of glucose-assisted mechanochemical exfoliation and cosolvent-intensified sonication exfoliation to effectively exfoliate and functionalize 2D materials.Taking exfoliation of boron nitride(BN)as an example,the production yield and functionalization ratio of BN nanosheets(BNNSs)reached 47.5%and 25.8 wt.%,188%and 16%higher than that of BNNSs without sonication exfoliation,respectively.The introduction of glucose not only augmented the friction force between adjacent BN layers to promote the efficiency of ball-milling-driven exfoliation supported by density functional theory calculation,but also reacted with active edges of BNNSs for functionalization.Afterwards,cosolventintensified sonication exfoliation strongly stabilized exfoliated BNNSs,obviously boosting the exfoliation yield.This proposed method is universal for preparing various 2D nanomaterials like molybdenum disulfide,tungsten disulfide,and graphene nanosheets.The thin plate structure and high functionalization ratio enabled the release of property superiorities of 2D nanomaterials.Our work offers a promising prototype to realize mass production of functionalized 2D nanomaterials.展开更多

Background:Although computed tomography coronary angiography (CTCA) can identify coronary stenosis,little data exists on the ability of multislice computed tomography (MSCT) to detect myocardial perfusion defects at r...Background:Although computed tomography coronary angiography (CTCA) can identify coronary stenosis,little data exists on the ability of multislice computed tomography (MSCT) to detect myocardial perfusion defects at rest.Methods:In 33 patients with diagnosed or suspected coronary artery disease (CAD),CTCA using retrospective electrocardiography (ECG) gating at rest and invasive coronary angiography (ICA) was performed.The 2D myocardial images were reconstructed in diastolic and systolic phases using the same raw data for CTCA.CT values of the myocardium were used as an estimate of myocardial enhancement,which were shown by color mapping.Myocardial ischemia was defined as a pattern of transient endocardial hypo-enhancement at systole and normal enhancement at diastole.The results of ICA were taken as the reference standard.Results:When a diameter reduction of more than 50% in ICA was used as diagnostic criteria of CAD,the sensitivity,specificity,positive predictive value (PPV),and negative predictive value (NPV) of CT first-pass myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) at rest were 0.85,0.67,0.92,and 0.50 per patient,respectively,and 0.58,0.93,0.85,and 0.76 per vessel,respectively.Conclusions:CT first-pass MPI at rest could detect CAD patients,which could become a practical and convenient way to detect ischemia,consequently offering the ability for MSCT to act as a "one stop shop" for the diagnosis of CAD.展开更多
Aim:The correction of nasal tip defects presents many challenges.Zitelli’s bilobed flap has been widely used for such repairing defects,but may be complicated by interrupted scars on the nasal dorsum.Our study evalua...Aim:The correction of nasal tip defects presents many challenges.Zitelli’s bilobed flap has been widely used for such repairing defects,but may be complicated by interrupted scars on the nasal dorsum.Our study evaluates the design principles,results,and advantages of a modified bilobed flap for repairing nasal tip defects.Methods:The primary lobe was located between the defect and the cheek,and the second lobe was located in the cheek.The width of the primary lobe was equal to that of the primary defect.The length of the primary lobe was 10%longer than the distance of the distal defect edge to the pivot point of the flap.The length of the second lobe was 30%longer than the distance of the distal defect edge to the pivot point of the flap.The width of the second lobe was 90-100%of that of the primary lobe.The ability to close the defect under minimal tension,the cosmetic appearance,and any complications were evaluated.Results:This technique was performed in 34 cases;defect size ranged from 0.8 cm×0.9 cm to 1.2 cm×1.8 cm.All defects were closed under minimal wound tension,all scars were inconspicuous,no obvious complications occurred,and the aesthetic outcomes were considered favorable.Conclusion:The modified bilobed flap can provide satisfying outcomes with lower morbidity and inconspicuous scarring.It is simple and suitable for repairing small-to medium-sized defects in the nasal tip.展开更多

文摘Background:Although computed tomography coronary angiography (CTCA) can identify coronary stenosis,little data exists on the ability of multislice computed tomography (MSCT) to detect myocardial perfusion defects at rest.Methods:In 33 patients with diagnosed or suspected coronary artery disease (CAD),CTCA using retrospective electrocardiography (ECG) gating at rest and invasive coronary angiography (ICA) was performed.The 2D myocardial images were reconstructed in diastolic and systolic phases using the same raw data for CTCA.CT values of the myocardium were used as an estimate of myocardial enhancement,which were shown by color mapping.Myocardial ischemia was defined as a pattern of transient endocardial hypo-enhancement at systole and normal enhancement at diastole.The results of ICA were taken as the reference standard.Results:When a diameter reduction of more than 50% in ICA was used as diagnostic criteria of CAD,the sensitivity,specificity,positive predictive value (PPV),and negative predictive value (NPV) of CT first-pass myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) at rest were 0.85,0.67,0.92,and 0.50 per patient,respectively,and 0.58,0.93,0.85,and 0.76 per vessel,respectively.Conclusions:CT first-pass MPI at rest could detect CAD patients,which could become a practical and convenient way to detect ischemia,consequently offering the ability for MSCT to act as a "one stop shop" for the diagnosis of CAD.
文摘Aim:The correction of nasal tip defects presents many challenges.Zitelli’s bilobed flap has been widely used for such repairing defects,but may be complicated by interrupted scars on the nasal dorsum.Our study evaluates the design principles,results,and advantages of a modified bilobed flap for repairing nasal tip defects.Methods:The primary lobe was located between the defect and the cheek,and the second lobe was located in the cheek.The width of the primary lobe was equal to that of the primary defect.The length of the primary lobe was 10%longer than the distance of the distal defect edge to the pivot point of the flap.The length of the second lobe was 30%longer than the distance of the distal defect edge to the pivot point of the flap.The width of the second lobe was 90-100%of that of the primary lobe.The ability to close the defect under minimal tension,the cosmetic appearance,and any complications were evaluated.Results:This technique was performed in 34 cases;defect size ranged from 0.8 cm×0.9 cm to 1.2 cm×1.8 cm.All defects were closed under minimal wound tension,all scars were inconspicuous,no obvious complications occurred,and the aesthetic outcomes were considered favorable.Conclusion:The modified bilobed flap can provide satisfying outcomes with lower morbidity and inconspicuous scarring.It is simple and suitable for repairing small-to medium-sized defects in the nasal tip.
