Objective:To understand the psychological process of patients with post-herpetic neuralgia(PHN)and provide references for the psychological management of PHN.Methods:The objective sampling method was used to conduct s...Objective:To understand the psychological process of patients with post-herpetic neuralgia(PHN)and provide references for the psychological management of PHN.Methods:The objective sampling method was used to conduct semi-structural in-depth interviews on 10 PHN patients,and Colaizzi’s phenomenological analysis method was used for data analysis.Results:According to the different pain durations of PHN patients,the patients were divided into three stages and five themes were extracted:the need for strong pain relief,the helpless tolerance of pain,the self-feeling burden,the need for health education,and the positive response to pain.Conclusions:PHN has complex psychological activities,so it is necessary to pay attention to the psychological process of patients and take effective psychological measures to intervene negative psychology so that patients can actively cope with the pain.展开更多
Objective:To observe the confidence level prevailing with regard to the practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)among undergraduate nursing students who have undertaken TCM courses at Shanxi Medical University.Me...Objective:To observe the confidence level prevailing with regard to the practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)among undergraduate nursing students who have undertaken TCM courses at Shanxi Medical University.Methods:This cross-sectional study was conducted at Shanxi University of Chinese Medicine.A questionnaire survey was administered through the Questionnaire Star website(https://www.questionstar.com/).The confidence level was examined from 6 aspects,namely cognition of TCM culture and theory,advantages and characteristics of TCM diagnosis and treatment,feelings about TCM achievements,personal behaviors related to TCM,attitudes toward Western medicine,and the future of TCM.The mean score of the observed items was calculated,and was found to be positively related to the confidence level concerning TCM(the score was between 1 and 5).Results:A total of 120 participants voluntarily enrolled themselves in the study.The results showed that the mean score of observed items were generally about 4.A relatively strong confidence was shown in understating TCM advantages and characteristics in diagnosis and treatment,and also in feelings toward TCM achievements.Conclusions:The majority of nursing undergraduates had confidence in TCM.However,some aspects such as the understanding of TCM culture and the correlation between TCM and Western medicine may need to be improved through education.展开更多
Objective:To explore the influencing factors and psychological experience of poor compliance in intestinal preparation before colonoscopy in elderly patients,so as to provide more comprehensive reference for the imple...Objective:To explore the influencing factors and psychological experience of poor compliance in intestinal preparation before colonoscopy in elderly patients,so as to provide more comprehensive reference for the implementation of targeted nursing intervention measures in the future and to improve the quality of intestinal preparation before colonoscopy in elderly patients.Method:According to the phenomenological research method in the qualitative research,a purposeful sampling selected 11 nursing staff from a digestive endoscopy center of a comprehensive tertiary Class A hospital in Shanxi Province as a research object for a semi-structured interview.Convenience Sampling selected semi-structured interviews with 13 elderly patients who underwent colonoscopy in a comprehensive tertiary Class A hospital in Shanxi Province from July to September 2018 for colonoscopy but had poor bowel preparation results.Colaizzi Phenomenological research methods conduct inductive analysis of data.Results:Through semi-structured interview,the influencing factors of poor compliance of intestinal preparation before colonoscopy in elderly patients were summarized as follows:①nursing staff ignored the individualized education of patients;②in the process of intestinal preparation,elderly patients have insufficient understanding of intestinal preparation,insufficient attention,forgetting the contents of intestinal preparation,intolerance in the process of intestinal preparation,lack of encouragement and professional guidance,etc.Conclusion:In clinical practice,medical staff should strengthen the individualized education of patients undergoing colonoscopy,guide them to correctly understand the intestinal preparation process and understand the importance of intestinal preparation,actively explore more convenient intestinal preparation methods,and actively play the positive role of family members in intestinal preparation of elderly patients.展开更多
