Methods: 2844 operative cases between May 2011 and December 2011 in our hospital were investigated by pharmacists and relative data were collected, including demographic data, type of surgery, wound classification (clean and clean contaminated) and parameters of antibiotic application (antibiotic choice, route, dose, time of first dose, time of operative re-dosing and duration of prophylaxis). The rationality of antibiotic administration in these cases was respectively evaluated based on Chinese guidelines for perioperative antibiotic use. Results: After intervention of pharmacists, perioperative antibiotic application in our hospital was obviously improved from May to December of 2011: the rates of antibiotic application in operative cases and antibiotic prophylaxis in clean operation were both decreased. However, there was no significant improvement for the rate of rationality. In detail, TCM surgery was well compliant with the guidelines: the rate of antibiotic application was less than 30%, regimen of antibiotic prophylaxis and therapy was reasonable;in the breast ward, antibiotic application was improved after pharmacists’ intervention: the rate of antibiotic prophylaxis in clean operation significantly decreased from 100% to 30%;however, in the anorectal ward, some troubles were resolved while other new problems came out;in other ward such as general surgery and orthopedics, old problems still existed. Conclusions: Protocol violations were frequent to perioperative antibiotic application in our hospital due to considerable over prescription. Intervention was effective but not enough. Further educational strategies are essential for reducing costs and antibiotic resistance rates.展开更多

It has been commonly used to relieve the symptoms of photokeratoconjunctivitis (PKC), chronic conjunctivitis and keratitis for more than forty years. However, the origins of cortex fraxini are various, which may result in the unstable quality. Methods: The animal model of PKC was established using rabbit’s eyes exposure to Ultraviolet (UV);levofloxaxin drop, normal saline, Qin Bing eye drops made of herbs from Hebei province and Shanxi province were respectively instilled to both eyes of rabbits;the symptoms of rabbits’ eyes were observed at different time points and scores based on weights were recorded;the recovery rates of different groups were evaluated. Results: The scores of both eyes for all rabbits were above 9 points, indicating animal models for PKC were successful;the average recovery rates of therapeutic groups, including Qin Bing eye drop groups, were higher than untreated group at different time points;the slopes of recovery rate in Qin Bing eye drop (Hebei) were above Shanxi. Conclusion: PKD animal model can be established successfully;Qin Bing eye drop groups promoted the symptoms of PKD recovering quicker than untreated group. Furthermore, Qin Bing eye drop made of herbs from province Hebei had better effects than Shanxi, which was consistent with chemical results. This indicated that chemical constituents of herbs were able to reflect the effects to a certain extent.展开更多
Background and Aims:Cirrhosis is the precursor lesion for most hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)cases.However,no biomarker effectively predicted HCC initiation before diagnosis by imaging.We aimed to investigate the hallm...Background and Aims:Cirrhosis is the precursor lesion for most hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)cases.However,no biomarker effectively predicted HCC initiation before diagnosis by imaging.We aimed to investigate the hallmarks of immune microenvironments in healthy,cirrhotic livers and HCC tumor tissues and to identify immune biomarkers of cirrhosis-HCC transition.Methods:Expression matrices of singlecell RNA sequencing studies were downloaded and integrated with Seurat package vignettes.Clustering was performed to analyze the immune cell compositions of different sample types.Results:The cirrhotic liver and HCC tumors had distinct immune microenvironments,but the immune landscape of cirrhotic livers was not markedly modified compared with healthy livers.Two subsets of B cells and three subsets of T cells were identified in the samples.Among the T cells,naïve T cells were more prominent in the cirrhotic and healthy liver samples than in the HCC samples.In contrast,the neutrophil count was lower in cirrhotic livers.Two macrophage clusters were identified,one that actively interacted with T cells and B cells and was enriched in cirrhotic blood compared with HCC blood samples.Conclusions:Decreased naïve T cell infiltration and increased neutrophil infiltration in the liver may indicate the development of HCC in cirrhotic patients.Alterations in blood-resident immune cells may also be a sign of HCC development in cirrhotic patients.The dynamics of the immune cell subsets may serve as novel biomarkers to predict the transition from cirrhosis to HCC.展开更多

The large voltage hysteresis of the NiO anode,which owes much to the intermediate product Li_(2)NiO_(2),is one of the main obstacles to its practical application in lithium-ion batteries.In this work,we show that the ...The large voltage hysteresis of the NiO anode,which owes much to the intermediate product Li_(2)NiO_(2),is one of the main obstacles to its practical application in lithium-ion batteries.In this work,we show that the incorporation of Fe-and N-ions in the Nio lattice can suppress the formation of intermediate product Li_(2)NiO_(2)and thus greatly reduces the voltage hysteresis of the Nioanode from~1.2 to~0.9 V.In comparison with the pure Nio electrode,the Nio.5Feo.5O1-xNx anode exhibits significantly enhanced reversible specific capacity(959 mAh·g^(-1)at 0.3 A·g^(-1)),cycling stability(capacity retention of 96.1%at 100th cycle relative to the second cycle)and rate capability(442 at 10 A·g^(-1)).These results provide a practical method to enhance the lithium storage performance of the Nio anode and more importantly a new solution to the large voltage hysteresis of conversion-type anodes.展开更多

The related microstructure, electrochemical performance and electrochemically induced phase evolution were characterized. The 900℃ calcined powders have a hexagonal layered structure with high ordered degree and low cationic mixing level. The calcined materials as cathode electrode for Li-ion battery deliver the high electrochemical properties with an initial discharge capacity of 243.5 mA. h. g-1 at 25 mA.g-1 and 249.2 mA-h.g-1 even after 50 cycles. The electrochemically induced phase evolution investigated by a transmission electron microscopy indicates that Li+ ions deintercalated first from the LiMO2 (M = Mn, Co, Ni) component and then from Li2MnO3 component in the LMNC during the charge process, while Li+ ions intercalated into Li1-xMO2 component followed by into MnO2 component during the discharge process.展开更多
Composite oxide ionic conductors consisting of Zr_(0.85)Y_(0.15)O_(1.925)(YSZ)and La_(9.33)Si_(6)O_(26)(LSO)have been synthesized by a modified coprecipitation method.X-ray diffraction,electron microscope,and complex ...Composite oxide ionic conductors consisting of Zr_(0.85)Y_(0.15)O_(1.925)(YSZ)and La_(9.33)Si_(6)O_(26)(LSO)have been synthesized by a modified coprecipitation method.X-ray diffraction,electron microscope,and complex impedance were adopted to investigate the phase component,microstructures,and conductivities,respectively.The results show that the average grain sizes of the composite powders and as-sintered pellets are less than 20 nm and 200 nm,respectively.The conductivity of the composite materials composed of 94 wt%YSZ and 6 wt%LSO is 0.215 S/cm at 700℃.The conductivity of the composite is three times higher than that of the polycrystalline YSZ and has two orders in magnitude higher than that of the polycrystalline LSO at 700℃.By analyzing the impedance spectra and modulus spectra,the grain-boundary effect on the conductivity improvement is investigated and the conductive mechanisms of the composite materials are discussed.展开更多
The Ti/Y modified CuO-based negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistors, Cu0.988-2yY0.008TiyO (TYCO; y-- 0.01, 0.015, 0.03, 0.05 and 0.07), were synthesized through a wet-chemical method followed by a tradi...The Ti/Y modified CuO-based negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistors, Cu0.988-2yY0.008TiyO (TYCO; y-- 0.01, 0.015, 0.03, 0.05 and 0.07), were synthesized through a wet-chemical method followed by a traditional ceramic sintering technology. The related phase component and electrical properties were investigated. XRD results show that the TYCO ceramics have a monoclinic structure as that of CuO crystal. The TYCO ceramics can be obtained at the sintering temperature 970℃-990℃, and display the typical NTC characteristic. The NTC thermal-sensitive constants of TYCO thermistors can be adjusted from 1112 to 3700 K by changing the amount of Ti in the TYCO ceramics. The analysis of complex impedance spectra revealed that both the bulk effect and grain boundary effect contribute to the electrical behavior and the NTC effect. Both the band conduction and electron-hopping models are proposed for the conduction mechanisms in the TYCO thermistors.展开更多
