Reducing the impact of power outages and maintaining the power supply duration must be considered in implementing emergency energy dispatching in micro-networks.This paper studies a new emergency energy treatment method based on the robust optimal method and the industrial park micro-network with the optical energy storage system.After controlling the load input,a control strategy of adjusting and removing is proposed.Rolling optimal theory is applied to emergency energy scheduling based on a robust optimal mathematical model.A weighting factor is introduced into the optimal model to balance the importance of reducing and retaining the power supply.Uncertainty is designed to adjust the effect of uncertainty on the problem.The example shows that this method can flexibly set the weight coefficient and uncertainty value according to the actual situation so that the input of the control load can be optimized. 展开更多

Pricing Binary Variables of System-wide Constraints for Power System Optimization

With the trend of multiple energies or flexible demand in power systems,binary variables appear in systemwide constraints,which are the foundation of marginal pricing currently in markets.An appropriate pricing method incentivizes compliance of market participants;otherwise,compliance can be incentivized by paying discriminatory uplift payments which jeopardize transparency of markets.This paper proposes two theorems to examine whether the binary variables brought by multiple energies and flexible demand will impact compliance under marginal pricing.The first theorem shows sufficient conditions with which marginal pricing with fixed binary variables incentivizes compliance,while the second theorem shows sufficient conditions to require uplift payments.To improve transparency by reducing uplift payments under cases which fall into the second theorem,this paper further proposes a pricing method by combining 1)designed constraints to price binary variables in system-wide constraints,and 2)convex hull pricing to price binary variables in private constraints.Effectiveness of the proposed theorems and pricing method is verified in an electricity-gas case(consisting of the IEEE 30-bus system and the NGS 10-node system)and the IEEE 118-bus test system. 展开更多

Environmental and electrical factors such as wind speed,air temperature and switching frequency have significant influences on the operational reliability of hybrid modular multilevel converter(MMC),which is commonly used for the wind power transmission.However,the existing reliability model of hybrid MMC based on statistics cannot accurately reflect the impact of these factors.In this paper,a new operational reliability model of hybrid MMC is presented.The reliability index of the hybrid MMC is coupled with its operation characteristics by calculating multi-term thermal cycling.In addition,an operation strategy of hybrid MMC is proposed to improve its reliability.The multi-state submodule(SM)is developed,which is capable of bypassing specific faulty power modules instead of the whole SM.Case studies show that the proposed operational reliability model could describe the impact of environmental and electrical factors.Also,the proposed operation strategy can improve the reliability of hybrid IMMC by extending the operation time of SMs. 展开更多

The self-assembly behaviors of the rod-coil-rod(PANI)_(98)-(PEG)_(136)-(PANI)_(98) triblock copolymer are investigated in different solvents,such as N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone(NMP),dimethyl formamide(DMF),ethanol and water.The effects of solvents,concentration and ultrasonic irradiation on self-assembly are discussed.The results indicate that the triblock copolymer forms particles,rods,fiber,networks and fiber bands in the above solvents,respectively.Especially,the triblock copolymer can form a multi-layer,tri-dimensional fibrous network and a petaline structure from the mono-layer fibrous network with the increase of its concentration in ethanol.Also,the ultrasonic irradiation has a great effect on the self-assembly of the triblock copolymer. 展开更多

Non-convexity Pricing and Allocating Costs in Stochastic Electricity Markets

Stochastic electricity markets have drawn attention due to fast increase of renewable penetrations.This results in two issues:one is to reduce uplift payments arising from non-convexity under renewable uncertainties,and the other one is to allocate reserve costs based on renewable uncertainties.To resolve the first issue,a convex hull pricing method for stochastic electricity markets is proposed.The dual variables of system-wide constraints in a chance-constrained unit commitment model are shown to reduce expected uplift payments,together with developing a linear program to efficiently calculate such prices.To resolve the second issue,an allocation method is proposed to allocate reserve costs to each renewable power plant by explicitly investigating how renewable uncertainties of each renewable power plant affect reserve costs.The proposed methods are validated in a 24-period 3-unit test example and a 24-period 48-unit utility example. 展开更多
