The complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of Gampsocleis gratiosa was determined. The 15,929 bp in the size of G. gratiosa mitogenome contains a typical gene content, base composition, and codon usage found in metazoan. All 13 protein coding genes (PCGs) of the G gratiosa mitogenome start with a typical ATN codon. The usual termination codons (TAA and TAG) were found from 10 PCGs. However, the atp6, had4, and had5 had incomplete termination codon (T). The anticodons of all tRNAs are identical to those observed in Drosophila yakuba and Locusta migratoria, and can be folded in the form of a typical clover leaf structure except for trnS (AGN). The secondary structure of trnS (AGN) was drawn according with the Steinberg-Cedergren tertiary structure. The A+T content (67.4%) of the A+T-rich region is relatively lower among the mitogenome regions, in contrast, it usually contains the highest A+T content for most insects. Two isolated sequence repeat regions (202 bp) were found in the A+T-rich region with mapping and secondary structure information. 展开更多

Ultrathin small MoS2nanosheets exhibit a higher electrocatalytic activity for the hydrogen evolution reaction.However,strong interactions between MoS2layers may result in aggregation;together with the low conductivity of MoS2,this may lower its electrocatalytic activity.In this paper we present a method that we developed to directly produce solid S,N co‐doped carbon(SNC)with a graphite structure and multiple surface groups through a hydrothermal route.When Na2MoO4was added to the reaction,polymolybdate could be anchored into the carbon materials via a chemical interaction that helps polymolybdate disperse uniformly into the SNC.After a high temperature treatment,polymolybdate transformed into MoS2at800°C for6h in a N2atmosphere at a heating rate of5°C/min,owing to S2?being released from the SNC during the treatment(denoted as MoS2/SNC‐800‐6h).The SNC effectively prevents MoS2from aggregating into large particles,and we successfully prepared highly dispersed MoS2in the SNC matrix.Electrochemical characterizations indicate that MoS2/SNC‐900‐12h exhibits a low onset potential of115mV and a low overpotential of237mV at a current density of10mA/cm2.Furthermore,MoS2/SNC‐900‐12h also had an excellent stability with only^2.6%decay at a current density of10mA/cm2after5000test cycles. 展开更多

Both reverse osmosis(RO) and nanofiltration(NF) membranes have been increasingly used for water purification and desalination. However, the salt rejection of NF membranes is quite different from that of RO membranes,which makes a significant distinction in their process designs. This work started from the performance investigation of a single NF membrane element and then focused on the process design of the NF system for surface water treatment. In experimental tests, it was found that the observed rejection of the NF element becomes nearly constant when the concentrate flow is large enough, while the membrane flux of the NF element is quite stable regardless of the water flow across the membrane surface. These findings can be used to instruct the process design of the NF system for surface water treatment. In process design, a two-stage arrangement is sufficient for the NF system to reach the highest water recovery, while the RO system requires a three-stage arrangement. 展开更多

Water level variations have caused numerous dam slope collapse disasters around the world,illustrating the large influence of water level fluctuations on dam slopes.The required indoor tests were conducted and a numerical model of an actual earth-filled dam was constructed to investigate the influences of the water level fluctuation rate and the hysteresis of the soil-water characteristic curve(SWCC)on the stability of the upstream dam slope.The results revealed that the free surface in the dam body for the desorption SWCC during water level fluctuations was higher than that for the adsorption SWCC,which would be more evident at higher water levels.The safety factor of the upstream dam slope initially decreased and then increased for the most dangerous water level as the water level rose and fell.The water level fluctuation rate mainly influenced the initial section of the safety factor variation curve,while the SWCC hysteresis mainly affected the minimum safety factor of the water level fluctuations.The desorption SWCC is suggested for engineering design.Furthermore,a quick prediction method is proposed to estimate the safety factor of upstream dam slopes with identical structures. 展开更多

Protective Effect of Fufang Yatongding on Periodontitis Model Rats

[Objectives]The paper was to investigate the protective effect of Fufang Yatongding on experimental periodontitis in rats.[Methods]Experimental periodontitis rats were randomly divided into blank group(5 rats),model group,control group and experimental group,with 8 rats in each group.The rats in the blank group were fed with normal diet,and those in the model group,control group and experimental group were administered intragastrically with normal saline,minocycline hydrochloride solution and Fufang Yatongding solution,respectively.After 4 weeks,alveolar bone resorption was measured.Serum matrix metalloproteinases(MMPs)and inflammatory factors were detected by ELISA,and the changes in gingival tissue were observed by HE staining.[Results]Compared with the control group,the distance from enamel cementum to alveolar crest in the experimental group was decreased(P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the levels of serum MMPs and inflammatory factors in the experimental group were decreased(P<0.05).The results of HE staining showed that the cells in the gingival tissue of rats in the blank group were normal in morphology and intact in structure,and the cells in the gingival tissue of rats in the model group were damaged and out of order,while the cells in the control group were slightly intact and arranged orderly,and the pathological damage of rats in the experimental group was less than that in the control group.[Conclusions]Fufang Yatongding has protective effect on experimental periodontitis in rats by inhibiting the release of MMPs and inflammatory factors. 展开更多

Water toxicity determination with electrochemically active bacteria(EAB)shows promise for providing early warnings for heavy metal pollution in water.However,thus far,only idealized tests with a few types of heavy metals have been conducted.In this study,an automatic water-toxicitydetermination system with high technical maturity was established,and the toxicological properties of common heavy metals were systematically assessed.The results demonstrated that the common heavy metals linearly inhibited EAB currents in the range of 0.1 mg/L to 0.5 mg/L.The toxicity ranking of the tested heavy metals was Pb^(2+)>Tl^(3+)>Cu^(2+)>Cd^(2+)>Zn^(2+)>Ni^(2+)>Hg^(2+)>As^(3+).The toxicity interaction mainly exhibited an antagonistic effect in binary heavy metal mixtures.The system can accurately determine surface water toxicity and rapidly monitor heavy metal pollution,with good repeatability and a long lifetime.Overall,this study demonstrates that EAB are capable of long-term(>60 d)surface water quality monitoring and on-site early warning of heavy metal pollution. 展开更多

Environmental exposure to pesticides is widespread and commonly occurs in mixtures,and pregnant women are particularly concerned.Trimethylamine N-oxide(TMAO),a dietary-derived catabolite linked to cardiometabolic disease,may be influenced by pesticide exposure.However,limited knowledge exists regarding the associations,and studies have primarily been restricted to single pesticides.To address this gap,we examined the associations of pesticide exposure with urinary TMA,TMAO,and TMAO-to-TMA ratio among 1067 pregnant women residing in a rural area.Latent class analysis(LCA)was applied to identify distinct patterns of pesticide exposure based on urinary metabolite concentrations.Multiple linear regression(MLR)models and Bayesian kernel machine regression(BKMR)models were employed to estimate the effects of single pesticides,exposure patterns,and combined exposure.Four distinct pesticide exposure patterns were identified.Higher concentrations of pesticide metabolites were found to be associated with increased urinary TMAO levels(β:0.043 to 0.254,p<0.05).In the MLR models for individual pesticides and exposure patterns,carbofuran phenol(CFP),pentachlorophenol(PCP),and 2-phenylphenol(OPP)exhibited positive associations with urinary TMA concentrations,while pyrethroid pesticide metabolites were correlated with the up-regulation of the TMAO-to-TMA ratio.Significant positive associations of pesticide mixtures with TMA,TMAO,and TMAO-to-TMA ratio were observed in the BKMR model,primarily driven by PCP and trans-DCCA.Our findings provided a perspective to reveal that the mechanisms and contributions to TMAO alterations may vary among different pesticides in mixture exposure. 展开更多

The phylogeny of Orthoptera based on differ... The complete 15,831 bp nucleotide sequence of the mitochondrial genome from Elimaea cheni (Phaneropterinae) was determined. The putative initiation codon for cox1 was TTA. The phylogeny of Orthoptera based on different mtDNA datasets were analyzed with maximum likelihood (ML) and Bayesian inference (BI). When all 37 genes (mtDNA) were analyzed simultaneously, the monophyly of Caelifera and Ensifera were recovered in the context of our taxon sampling. The phylogeny of Orthoptera was largely consistent with previous phylogenetic hypotheses. Rhaphidophoridae to be a sister group of Tettigoniidae, and the relationships among four subfamilies of Tettigoniidae were (Phaneropterinae + (Conocephalinae + (Bradyporinae + Tettigoniinae))). Pyrgomorphidae was the most basal group of Caelifera. The relationships among six acridid subfamilies were (Oedipodinae + (Acridinae + (Gomphocerinae + (Oxyinae + (Callip- taminae + Cyrtacanthacridinae))))). However, we did not recover a monophyletic Grylloidea. Myrmecophilidae clustered into one clade with Gryllotalpidae instead of with Gryllidae. ML and BI analyses of all protein coding genes (using all nucleotide sequence data or excluding the third codon position, and amino acid sequences) revealed a topology identical to that of the entire mtDNA genome dataset. However, 22 tRNAs genes excluding the DHU loop and TψC loop (TRNA), and two rRNA genes (RRNA) perform poorly when analyzed as single dataset. Our results suggest that the best phylogenetic inferences were ML and BI methods based on total mtDNA. Excluding tRNA genes, rRNA genes and the third codon position of protein coding genes from dataset and converting nucleotide sequences to amino acid sequences do not positively affect phylogenetic reconstruction. 展开更多

A finite reaction rate model is presented as a closure of large eddy simulation(LES) to numerically study an open premixed methane/air swirling flame. The resultant model is firstly validated by comparing with reported data and then employed to investigate the effect of swirling intensity on flow field, flame characteristics and combustion instability of the swirling flame. Three different swirl numbers are considered. The LES results show that as swirling intensity increases, the vortex entrainment and micro-mixing are enhanced, leading to more lean equivalent ratios at flame front; consequently, higher swirling number causes lower flame temperatures and slower CO oxidization; for all simulated swirl numbers,flame fronts are completely located out of the recirculation zones and anchored at the inner surface of the annular swirling steams; swirl number has a crucial effect on swirling flame extension toward radial and tangential dimensions and then significantly affects streamwise flame length, which is a great influencing factor on combustion instability; vortex-induced disturbance on flame in streamwise plays a critical role in combustion instability. 展开更多

The acoustic pressure is transduced into elastic vibration of a circle metal disk, resulting in an intensity modulation of the reflected light wave back from fiber Bragg grating (FBG). Experiment shows that the 500 EPS-FBG hydrophone has a minimum detectable acoustic pressure of about at 5 kHz and achieves about 18-dB improvement of acoustic pressure sensitivity compared with a regular apodized FBG hydrophone. 展开更多

[背景]大气颗粒物-9健康结局之间的相关性已在全球范围内广为报道。然而,有关不同粒径颗粒物对健康影响的研究却十分有限。[目的]以中国沈阳为例,探索不同粒径颗粒物的数量浓度(particle number concentrations,PNCs)与每日死亡率之间的关系。[方法]研究时间为2006年12月1日至2008年11月30日,分别收集每日死因别死亡率和直径为0.25~10岬颗粒物的每日PNCs。用基于半泊松回归的广义相加模型来评估PNCs-9死亡率之间的相关性,同时采用自然样条平滑函数校正随时间变化的协变量、长期趋势及季节性趋势。[结果]在研究时间内,归因于非意外的自然死亡、心血管疾病和呼吸系统疾病的平均每日死亡数分别为67、32和7。直径为0.25-0.50gm的颗粒物PNCs与总死亡率和心血管疾病死亡率明显相关,但与呼吸系统疾病死亡率无明显相关性。与冷季相比,暖季里PNCs效应估计值较大,并且效应值随着颗粒物粒径的减小而增加。0.25~0.28p,m、O.35~0.40μm和0.45—0.50gm的颗粒物PNCs每增加1个IQR浓度,与之相关的总死亡风险分别增大2.41%(95%CI:1.23%~3.58%)、1.31%(95%CI:0.52%~2.09%)和0.45%(95%CI:0.04%-0.87%)。校正大气颗粒物和气态污染物的质量浓度后,这种相关性仍然保持稳定。[结论]研究结果提示,直径〈0.5μm的颗粒物可能是空气污染颗粒中导致不良健康影响的最主要成分,并且对健康的不利影响随着颗粒直径的减小而增加。 展开更多

This study encompassed the regular observation of nine polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)and three nitro-PAHs(NPAHs)in particulate matter(PM)in Shanghai in summer and winter from 2010 to 2018.The results showed that the mean concentrations of∑PAHs in summer decreased by 24.7%in 2013 and 18.1%in 2017 but increased by 10.2%in 2015 compared to the data in 2010.However,the mean concentrations of∑PAHs in winter decreased by 39.7%from 2010(12.8±4.55 ng/m^3)to 2018(7.72±3.33 ng/m^3),and the mean concentrations of 1-nitropyrene in winter decreased by 79.0%from 2010(42.3±16.1 pg/m^3)to 2018(8.90±2.09 pg/m^3).Correlation analysis with meteorological conditions revealed that the PAH and NPAH concentrations were both influenced by ambient temperature.The diagnostic ratios of PAHs and factor analysis showed that they were mainly affected by traffic emissions with some coal and/or biomass combustion.The ratio of 2-nitrofluoranthene to 2-nitropyrene was near 10,which indicated that the OH radical-initiated reaction was the main pathway leading to their secondary formation.Moreover,backward trajectories revealed different air mass routes in each sampling period,indicating a high possibility of source effects from the northern area in winter in addition to local and surrounding influences.Meanwhile,the mean total benzo[a]pyrene-equivalent concentrations in Shanghai in winter decreased by 50.8%from 2010(1860±645 pg/m^3)to 2018(916±363 pg/m^3).These results indicated the positive effects of the various policies and regulations issued by Chinese authorities. 展开更多

Two Schistosomajaponicum vaccine candidate antigens Sj 31 and Sj 32, which have shown particular promise to induce protective immunity in mice, were used to immunize goats by using a DNA priming-protein boosting strategy in present work. DNA vaccine formulations of the two antigens (VRSj31 and VRSj32) were produced and injected intramuscularly twice at a 2-week interval and then recombinant proteins (rSj31 and rSj32) together with Freund Complete Adjuvant (FCA) were used to boost the goats. The experiment was repeated in different batche cercariae. A strong anamnestic antibody response was induced after boost. A significant reduction of liver egg counts and miracidial hatching was showed in both experiments. Significant protections against challenge infection were elicited with 31.6% of percentage reduction for worm recovery in the second experiment and 20.9% in the first experiment, respectively. 展开更多

Micro/nanostructures play a key role in tuning the radiative properties of materials and have been applied to high-temperature energy conversion systems for improved performance.Among the various radiative properties,spectral emittance is of integral importance for the design and analysis of materials that function as radiative absorbers or emitters.This paper presents an overview of the spectral emittance measurement techniques using both the direct and indirect methods.Besides,several micro/nanostructures are also introduced,and a special emphasis is placed on the emissometers developed for characterizing engineered micro/nanostructures in high-temperature applications(e.g.,solar energy conversion and thermophotovoltaic devices).In addition,both experimental facilities and measured results for different materials are summarized.Furthermore,future prospects in developing instrumentation and micro/nanostructured surfaces for practical applications are also outlined.This paper provides a comprehensive source of information for the application of micro/nanostructures in high-temperature energy conversion engineering. 展开更多

Supported tungsten phosphide catalysts were prepared by temperature-programmed reduction of their precursors(supported phospho-tungstate catalysts)in H2 and characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),BET,temperature-programmed desorption of ammonia(NH3-TPD)and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).The reduction-phosphiding processes of the precursors were investigated by thermogravimetry and differential thermal analysis(TG-DTA)and the suitable phosphiding temperatures were defined.The hydrodesulfurization(HDS)and hydrodenitrogenation(HDN)activities of the catalysts were tested by using thiophene,pyridine,dibenzothiophene,carbazole and diesel oil as the feedstock.The TiO2,c-Al_(2)O_(3) supports and the Ni,Co promoters could remarkably increase and stabilize active W species on the catalyst surface.A suitable amount of Ni(3%–5%),Co(5%–7%)and V(1%–3%)could increase dispersivity of the W species and the BET surface area of the WP/c-Al_(2)O_(3) catalyst.The WP/c-Al_(2)O_(3) catalyst possesses much higher thiophene HDS and carbazole HDN activities and the WP/TiO2 catalyst has much higher dibenzothiophene(DBT)HDS and pyridine HDN activities.The Ni,Co and V can obviously promote the HDS activity and inhibit the HDN activity of the WP/c-Al_(2)O_(3) catalyst.The G-Ni5 catalyst possesses a much higher diesel oil HDS activity than the sulphided industrial NiW/c-Al_(2)O_(3) catalyst.In general,a support or promoter in the WP/c-Al_(2)O_(3) catalyst which can increase the amount and dispersivity of the active W species can promote its HDS and HDN activities. 展开更多

The calculation equation of large diameter bored pile's effective length is connected with its distribution of pile shaft resistance. Thus, there is a great difference between the calculation results under the different distributions of pile shaft resistance. Primarily, this paper summarizes the conceptualized mode of pile shaft resistance under the circum- stance that the soil surrounding the piles presents different layer distributions. Secondly, based on Mindlin's displacement solution and in consideration of the effect of pile diam- eter, the calculation equation is optimized with the assumption that the pile shaft resis- tance has a parabolic distribution. The influencing factors are analyzed according to the calculation result of effective pile length. Finally, combined with an engineering example, the calculation equation deduced in this paper is analyzed and verified. The result shows that both the Poisson ratio of soil and pile diameter have impacted the effective pile length. Compared with the Poisson ratio of soil, the effect of pile diameter is more significant. If the pile diameter remains the same, the effect of the Poisson ratio of soil to the effective pile length decreases as the ratio of pile elastic modulus and soil share modulus increases. If the Poisson ratio of soil remains the same, the effect of the pile diameter to the effective pile length increases as the ratio of pile elastic modulus and soil share modulus increases. Thus the optimized calculation result of pile effective length under the consideration of pile diameter effect is more close to the actual situation of engineering and reasonably practicable. 展开更多
