In the post-genome-wide association study era,multi-omics techniques have shown great power and poten-tial for candidate gene mining and functional genomics research.However,due to the lack of effective data integrati...In the post-genome-wide association study era,multi-omics techniques have shown great power and poten-tial for candidate gene mining and functional genomics research.However,due to the lack of effective data integration and multi-omics analysis platforms,such techniques have not still been applied widely in rape-seed,an important oil crop worldwide.Here,we report a rapeseed multi-omics database(BnlR;http:/l yanglab.hzau.edu.cn/BnlR),which provides datasets of six omics including genomics,transcriptomics,variomics,epigenetics,phenomics,and metabolomics,as well as numerous"variation-gene expression-phenotype"associations by using multiple statistical methods.In addition,a series of multi-omics search and analysis tools are integrated to facilitate the browsing and application of these datasets.BnlR is the most comprehensive multi-omics database for rapeseed so far,and two case studies demonstrated its power to mine candidate genes associated with specific traits and analyze their potential regulatory mechanisms.展开更多
A new type of lubricating material(BTA-P_(4444)-Lig)was synthesized by combining lignin with tetrabutylphosphorus and benzotriazole.The tribological properties,corrosion resistance,and anti-oxidation properties of BTA...A new type of lubricating material(BTA-P_(4444)-Lig)was synthesized by combining lignin with tetrabutylphosphorus and benzotriazole.The tribological properties,corrosion resistance,and anti-oxidation properties of BTA-P_(4444)-Lig as a lubricant were investigated.The lubricating material exhibits excellent friction reduction and wear resistance,as well as good thermal stability and excellent oxidation resistance.Mechanistic analysis reveals that the active elements N and P in the lubricating material react with the metal substrate,and the reaction film effectively blocks direct contact between the friction pairs,affording excellent friction reduction and wear resistance.At the same time,the phenolic hydroxyl group in lignin reacts with oxygen free radicals to form a resonance-stable semi-quinone free radical,which interrupts the chain reaction and affords good anti-oxidant activity.展开更多

Background:Infantile spasms(IS)are the most common childhood epileptic encephalopathy.Focal cortical dysplasia(FCD)and gray matter heterotopias(GH)are common structural causes of IS.The recommended first-line treatmen...Background:Infantile spasms(IS)are the most common childhood epileptic encephalopathy.Focal cortical dysplasia(FCD)and gray matter heterotopias(GH)are common structural causes of IS.The recommended first-line treatment for IS patients with structural causes is surgical intervention,according to the International League Against Epilepsy(ILAE)commission guidelines.However,there is currently no consensus on appropriate timings of surgery.Case presentations:Two structural IS cases are presented here:one was caused by FCD,and the other by GH.Both patients exhibited recurrent seizures at the age of 2 months,had poor responses to various antiepileptic drugs(AEDs)and displayed severe mental and motor developmental retardation.Seizure types included focal seizures and spasms.Brain magnetic resonance imaging showed abnormal gray signal or suspicious FCD lesions that coincided with the origin of the focal seizures.The patients underwent lesion resection before the age of 6 months.Follow-up observation showed that seizures of both patients were completely controlled several days after the surgery.All AEDs were gradually reduced in dosage within 1 year,and the mental and motor development almost returned to normal.Conclusion:Early resection of lesions in structural IS patients has benefits of effectively controlling convulsions and improving developmental retardation.Infants at several months of age can well tolerate craniotomy,and their cognitive development is more likely to return to normal after early surgery.展开更多
