Lithium-sulfur(Li-S) batteries have attracted considerable attention as one of the most appealing energy storage systems.Strenuous efforts have been devoted to tackling the tremendous challenges,mainly pertaining to the severe shuttle effect,sluggish redox kinetics and lithium dendritic growth.Single-atomic mediators as promising candidates exhibit impressive performance in addressing these intractable issues.Related research often utilizes a trial-and-error approach,proposing solutions to fabricate single-atomic materials with diversified features.However,comprehensive review articles especially targeting demand-driven preparation are still in a nascent stage.Inspired by these considerations,this review summarizes the design of single-atomic mediators based on the application case-studies in LiS batteries and other metal-sulfur systems.Emerging preparation routes represented by chemical vapor deposition technology are introduced in a demand-oriented classification.Finally,future research directions are proposed to foster the advancement of single-atomic mediators in Li-S realm. 展开更多

MnO_(x)-Fe_(3)O_(4) nanomaterials were fabricated by using the innovative scheme of pyrolyzing manganesedoped iron-based metal organic framework in inert atmosphere and exhibited extraordinary performance of NO reduction by CO(CO-SCR).Multi-technology characterizations were conducted to ascertain the properties of fabricated materials(e.g.,TGA,XRD,SEM,FT-IR,XPS,BET,H_(2)-TPR and O_(2)-TPD).Moreover,the interaction between reactants and catalysts was ascertained by in situ FT-IR.Experimental results demonstrated that Mn was an ideal promoter for iron oxides,resulting in decrease of crystallite size,improve reducibility property,enhance the mobility and the amount of lattice O^(2-) species,as well as strength the adsorption ability of active NO and CO to form multiple species(e.g.,nitrate and carbonate).The unprecedented enhancement of CO-SCR activity over Mn-Fe nanomaterials follows the Eley-Rideal(E-R)and Langmuir-Hinshelwood(L-H)reaction pathway. 展开更多

This work proposed to change the structure of the sample susceptor of the microwave plasma chemical vapor deposition(MPCVD)reaction chamber,that is,to introduce a small hole in the center of the susceptor to study its suppression effect on the incorporation of residual nitrogen in the MPCVD diamond film.By using COMSOL multiphysics software simulation,the plasma characteristics and the concentration of chemical reactants in the cylindrical cavity of MPCVD system were studied,including electric field intensity,electron number density,electron temperature,the concentrations of atomic hydrogen,methyl,and nitrogenous substances,etc.After introducing a small hole in the center of the molybdenum support susceptor,we found that no significant changes were found in the center area of the plasma,but the electron state in the plasma changed greatly on the surface above the susceptor.The electron number density was reduced by about 40%,while the electron temperature was reduced by about 0.02 eV,and the concentration of atomic nitrogen was decreased by about an order of magnitude.Moreover,we found that if a specific lower microwave input power is used,and a susceptor structure without the small hole is introduced,the change results similar to those in the surface area of the susceptor will be obtained,but the spatial distribution of electromagnetic field and reactant concentration will be changed. 展开更多

We propose a trust-region type method for a class of nonsmooth nonconvex optimization problems where the objective function is a summation of a(probably nonconvex)smooth function and a(probably nonsmooth)convex function.The model function of our trust-region subproblem is always quadratic and the linear term of the model is generated using abstract descent directions.Therefore,the trust-region subproblems can be easily constructed as well as efficiently solved by cheap and standard methods.When the accuracy of the model function at the solution of the subproblem is not sufficient,we add a safeguard on the stepsizes for improving the accuracy.For a class of functions that can be“truncated”,an additional truncation step is defined and a stepsize modification strategy is designed.The overall scheme converges globally and we establish fast local convergence under suitable assumptions.In particular,using a connection with a smooth Riemannian trust-region method,we prove local quadratic convergence for partly smooth functions under a strict complementary condition.Preliminary numerical results on a family of Ei-optimization problems are reported and demonstrate the eficiency of our approach. 展开更多
