The genus Luprops Hope, 1833 is distributed in Palaearctic, Oriental, Sino-Japanese and Afrotropical regions, including 3 new Chinese record species described in this paper. Eleven species of this genus are known in China. The new Chinese record species are: L. brancuccii Schawaller, 2013, L. kaszabi Schawaller, 1997 and L. rugosissimus Kaszab, 1980. A key to the known Luprops species and its morphological details are provided. In addition, larva of Luprops horni(Gebien, 1914) is reported for the first time. 展开更多

In this study, beetle communities in Jiuzhaigou, Xiaozhaizigou, Caopo, Ma'anshan and Baihe nature reserves of Sichuan Province were compared and analyzed. F index, G index and G-F index of beetle communities in five nature reserves were analyzed to calculate the similarity coefficient C between these five na- ture reserves. According to the results, beetle communities exhibited high dissimilarity between Jiuzhaigou and Xiaozhaizigou, Caopo and Jiuzhaigou, Caopo and Xiaozhaizigou, Ma'anshan and Xiaozhaizigou, Ma'anshan and Jiuzhaigou, Baihe and Xiaozhaizigou, Baihe and Caopo, Baihe and Ma'anshan; beetle communities exhibited moderate dissimilarity between Ma'anshan and Caopo, Baihe and Jiuzhaigou. 展开更多

According to related data, different species of the subtribe Lagriina mainly distribute in the south of China. To be specific, Yunnan Province owns the greatest number of species, followed by Fujian Province and Sichuan Province. [ Objective] This study aimed to investigate the feeding habits and food range of Periplanetafuligiosa. [ Method] Common insects, foods, daily necessities, plants and fruits were used to feed P. fuligiosa ; one food or item was put into the culture bottle each time in a small amount, to observe the feeding habits of P. fuligiosa. Foods or items uneaten after three days were excluded from its food range. Subsequently, P. fuligiosa was fed with random combinations of two or more foods according to the food range, to observe and record the feeding order. [Result] P. fuligiosa has a relatively wide food range, which dislikes dead bodies of hard-shelled insects such as Cyrtotrachelus longimanus and Popillia quadriguttata. P. fuligiosa is an omnivorous insect but tends to be carnivorous. [ Conclusion] This study provided the basis for the cultivation, prevention and control of P. fuligiosa. 展开更多

Overestimate of remediation efficiency due to residual sodium persulfate in PAHs contaminated soil and a solution

Oxidation remediation is a commonly used technology for PAHs contaminated soil presently,but the overestimate of efficiency due to ongoing remediation by residual oxidants during extraction and testing has not been paid enough attention.In this study,persulfate was activated by Fe(Ⅱ)to investigate the effects of residual oxidants on PAHs removal during detection process and the elimination effects of adding Na_(2)SO_(3) and extending sampling time on residual oxidants.Results verified that the residual oxidants removed PAHs in extraction process,making the results lower than the actual values:the detection recovery rate η of ΣPAHs and 3-6 ring PAHs ranged from 24.3%(25%Na_(2)S_(2)O_(8)treatment)to 87.4%(5%Na_(2)S_(2)O_(8)+4/4Fe^(2+) treatment),20.1%-99.0%,28.9%-87.9%,20.8%-89.4%,and 1.8.6%-76.9%,respectively.After adding Na_(2)SO_(3),the accuracy of detection results increased significantly:the η of ΣPAHs and 3-6 ring PAHs increased to 64.1%-96.5%,58.8%-95.5%,73.8%-114.4%,60.6%-95.6%,and 45.4%-77.1%,respectively.After 49 days of adding oxidants,residual oxidants had no considerable effect on the detection of PAHs,indicating it was appropriate to start soil remediation verification sampling49 days after the remediation was completed.The observed results will help scientific evaluation of the remediation effects of chemical oxidation on or-ganic contaminated soil. 展开更多
