Cable fire is one of the most important events for operation and maintenance(O&M)safety in underground utility tunnels(UUTs).Since there are limited studies about cable fire risk assessment,a comprehensive assessm...Cable fire is one of the most important events for operation and maintenance(O&M)safety in underground utility tunnels(UUTs).Since there are limited studies about cable fire risk assessment,a comprehensive assessment model is proposed to evaluate the cable fire risk in different UUT sections and improve O&M efficiency.Considering the uncertainties in the risk assessment,an evidential reasoning(ER)approach is used to combine quantitative sensor data and qualitative expert judgments.Meanwhile,a data transformation technique is contributed to transform continuous data into a five-grade distributed assessment.Then,a case study demonstrates how the model and the ER approach are established.The results show that in Shenzhen,China,the cable fire risk in District 8,B Road is the lowest,while more resources should be paid in District 3,C Road and District 25,C Road,which are selected as comparative roads.Based on the model,a data-driven O&M process is proposed to improve the O&M effectiveness,compared with traditional methods.This study contributes an effective ER-based cable fire evaluation model to improve the O&M efficiency of cable fire in UUTs.展开更多

According to the relationship between the meshing stiffness and the inherent characteristics of a seven-speed three-row coupled planetary transmission mechanism,a equivalent concentrated mass dynamics model of the pla...According to the relationship between the meshing stiffness and the inherent characteristics of a seven-speed three-row coupled planetary transmission mechanism,a equivalent concentrated mass dynamics model of the planetary transmission mechanism is established.The natural frequency of the planetary gear train at a specific gear is calculated and extracted.The relationship between the meshing stiffness of each row and the natural frequency of the system is analyzed,thereby avoiding possible resonance behavior by changing the meshing stiffness.These results show that the meshing stiffness,in its range of possible values,has nearly no effect on the low order natural frequency(<4.000.Hz),and that the time-varying meshing stiffness mainly affects the natural frequencies of the higher-and middle-order parts of the system.Changes of the natural frequencies lead to the change of the system's corresponding vibration mode,which will change the vibration situation of the system.展开更多

The sensor is composed of a single loop forme...A simple fiber sensor to measure angular displacement with high resolution, which is based on whispering gallery mode (WGM) resonance in bent optical fibers,is proposed. The sensor is composed of a single loop formed by loosely tying a knot using single mode fiber. To measure the transmission spectra, a tunable laser and an optic power meter are connected to the two ends of fi- ber loop, respectively. Significant WGM resonances occur over the investigated wavelength range for all the sensors with different bend radius. The angular-displacement sensitivity is studied in the range from -0. 1°to 0. 1°. The detection limit of 1.49 × 10 ^-7 rad can be achieved for the detecting system with the resolution of lpm. The simple loop-structure fiber sensor has potential application prospect in the field of architecture or bridge building with low detection limit and low cost.展开更多
