Grounding or earthing involves making physical contact with the Earth's surface by walking barefoot on natural surfaces or using grounding devices that simulate direct contact with the Earth.Precision Grounding is believed to balance the electrical charge in the human body and has potential physical and psychological benefits, including reduced inflammation, improved sleep quality, and decreased anxiety and depression symptoms.Combining earthing therapy with essential oils is gaining popularity as a natural and effective therapeutic technique.Essential oils contain antioxidants and anti-inflammatory chemicals that complement the benefits of earthing therapy. This study aims to highlight a novel method for reducing inflammation by combining essential oils with precision grounding and to emphasize the significance of the duration and intensity of grounding on inflammation and injury. The findings indicate that essential oils combined with precision grounding can reduce pain and alter the levels of neutrophils, lymphocytes, and inflammation-related chemicals in circulation. The review underscores the potential of earthing with essential oils as a simple and widely available clinical intervention with potentially significant therapeutic implications.Precision Grounding therapy is safe and theoretically beneficial for most people, but medical advice should be sought before beginning any new wellness practice. 展开更多

Anthropometric variations can affect resting energy expenditure,VO_(2) max and anaerobic capacity of young, healthy individuals.Studies have shown that body fat percentage, weight, and height can all affect the three measures. The study aimed to study VO_(2) max and 24-hour thermogenesis measures in predominantly sedentary individuals and weight changes afterwards.VO_(2) max-associated research shows that taller individuals tend to have higher VO_(2) max levels compared to shorter individuals. This could be because taller individuals have a larger lung capacity and greater oxygen delivery to the muscles.Weight can also affect VO_(2) max,as heavier individuals tend to have higher VO_(2) max levels than lighter individuals.Weight is also associated with resting energy expenditure,as heavier individuals tend to have a higher resting energy expenditure than lighter individuals. The purpose of this study was to conduct a systematic review of the existing literature related to resting energy expenditure and metabolic effects of VO_(2) max,and anaerobic capacity in sedentary active adults of anthropometric variations.Several studies have recently examined the possibility of improving aerobic and metabolic functions ensuring cardiorespiratory fitness within the population of anthropometric variations.Everyday physical activity and heredity ability influenced mainly the gold standard measuring tool for cardiorespiratory fitness,VO_(2) max, predicting mortality and morbidity.Weight gain has also been shown to be associated with lower cardiorespiratory fitness, regardless of physical activity levels. The VO_(2) max may have a different effect on energy balance apart from physical activity’s energy expenditure(EE),possibly by affecting the resting metabolic rate(RMR)or triggering a common mechanism associated with diet-induced thermogenesis.Weight change is predicted by sedentary energy expenditure, but directly measured VO_(2) max does not appear to be correlated with weight change. The relationship between resting energy expenditure,VO_(2) max,and anaerobic capacity in individuals is complex.Resting energy expenditure is directly related to anaerobic capacity,as it is an indicator of the body’s ability to work anaerobically.VO_(2) max is also related to anaerobic capacity,as it reflects the body’s maximal aerobic power. However, the strength of this relationship is not known.Overall, both resting energy expenditure and VO_(2) max are important determinants of anaerobic capacity in individuals and are worth considering when evaluating an individual’s anaerobic potential. 展开更多

However, the best choice of acupuncture therapy for postoperative nausea and vomiting remains controversy. Methods:Several databases were searched from inception to April 2020.Randomized controlled trials met the criterion were included.Risk of bias was implemented with Cochrane risk-of-bias tool.Addis,R,OpenBUGS and STATA were used to conduct meta-analysis.The evidence was assessed by GRADE profiler 3.6.Results:Fifty studies involving 5980 patients were included. The risk of bias of most included studies were acceptable. The results of network meta-analyses indicated, compared with placebo, electroacupuncture was the best choice for postoperative nausea(odds ratio=0.09,95%confidence interval:0.02-0.51)and acupoint plaster for postoperative vomiting(odds ratio=0.07,95%confidence interval:0.01-0.42),acupoint catgut embedding+5HTRA for postoperative nausea and vomiting(odds ratio=0.05,95%confidence interval:0.01-0.15),and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation+5-hydroxytryptamine receptor antagonists for postoperative rescue antiemetics(odds ratio=0.14,95%confidence interval:0.08-0.46).Conclusion:It was suggested transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation+5-hydroxytryptamine receptor antagonists was the best choice. The results provided guidance for the prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting. 展开更多

The incidence and prevalence of acute gouty arthritis are increasing with the total prevalence ofgout in China. Non-drug therapies are now being increasingly evaluated for its role in acute andchronic gout with less toxic and side effects and better therapeutic effects. This reviewsummarized that activated coarse fiber, inhibited fine fiber, the influence on5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT), increased K+ and the anti-inflammation factors were the possiblemechanisms of non-drug therapies for the acute gouty arthritis; This review also introduced thetraditional non-drug therapies and modern non-drug therapies; The traditional non-drugtherapies, including acupuncture, puncture cupping can significantly alleviate acuteinflammation of gout joints and prevent joint dysfunction without obvious toxic and side effects;Modern non-drug therapies, such as laser therapy, electrotherapy, magnetic therapy andultrasonic therapy, also could effectively improve swelling and pain symptoms and joint functionof patients with acute gouty arthritis, and reduce the levels of C-reactive protein, serum uricacid and erythrocyte sedimentation rate. To sum up, the non-drug therapies, especially theincreasing varieties of modern physical therapies, have achieved good effects in the treatmentof acute gouty arthritis with the characteristics of less toxicity and side effects, which are worthyof wide use. 展开更多
