Objectives:This review aimed to explore the independent risk factors of postpartum urinary retention(PUR)after a vaginal delivery.Methods:The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses(PRISMA)w...Objectives:This review aimed to explore the independent risk factors of postpartum urinary retention(PUR)after a vaginal delivery.Methods:The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses(PRISMA)was followed and relevant studies were retrieved from eleven databases.The quality of the included articles was assessed using Critical Appraisal Skills Programme tools or the Appraisal tool for Cross-Sectional Studies.The data analysis was performed using Review Manager version 5.3.Results:A total of nine articles were included and five risk factors were identified,namely,episiotomy(OR=2.99,95%CI=1.31e6.79,P=0.009),epidural analgesia(OR=2.48,95%CI=1.09e5.68,P=0.03),primiparity(OR=2.17,95%CI=1.06e4.46,P=0.03),instrumental delivery(OR=4.01,95%CI=1.97 e8.18,P<0.001),and the duration of the second stage of labor(MD=15.24,95%CI=11.20e19.28,P<0.001).However,fetal birth weights of more than 3800 g were not identified as an independent risk factor(MD=64.41,95%CI=-12.59 to 141.41,P=0.10).Conclusion:This systematic review indicated that the independent risk factors for PUR were found to include episiotomy,epidural analgesia,instrumental delivery,primiparity,and a longer second stage of labor.In clinical practice,healthcare providers could pay more attention to women with these factors and prevent postpartum urinary retention.展开更多

This on-going process has cr...Natural disasters have impacted human settlements throughout the centuries, imparting lessons as new ways and strategies to avoid or minimize the damage inflicted by the natural processes. This on-going process has created new landscapes instrumental to man's balance of the use of the land by taking into account the probability of further natural disasters. This paper discusses the responses to disaster challenges taking past experiences on "after disaster decisions" in London 1666, in Lisbon 1755 as a framework to analyse the more recent Great East Japan Earthquake disaster. The concept of sustainability which adds a new perspective to the subject of more resistant solutions and strategies as the opportunity for a new design is presented by the destruction. Sustainable environmental, social and cultural issues improvements are important goals introduced in the 20th century and enrich long-term human adaptations to natural processes. They are also considered in this analysis as an evolving final product of the human adaptation that results in more durable cultural landscapes.展开更多
A Ms 8.0 large earthquake occurred in Sichuan,China on May 12,2008(hereafter called 5.12 Earthquake),and then a large debris flow happened in the quake-hit Qingping Township of Mianzhu county on August 13,2008(here...A Ms 8.0 large earthquake occurred in Sichuan,China on May 12,2008(hereafter called 5.12 Earthquake),and then a large debris flow happened in the quake-hit Qingping Township of Mianzhu county on August 13,2008(hereafter called 8.13 Debris Flow).The influence of two disasters on the changes in land use were analyzed by using highresolution aerial photos and satellite remote sensing images taken before and after the 5.12 Earthquake and 8.13 Debris Flow,the selection of suitable construction land were studied by learning experiences and lessons from the selection of resettlement areas and through field surveys and with land use transfer model and analytical model in combination with RS and GIS.The results showed that the influence of the 5.12 Earthquake on ecological environment was far greater than that of the 8.13 Debris Flow;there were more salient conflicts between population and land after the earthquake.Sites for post-disaster reconstruction should not be in disaster-prone areas or in gully-facing areas.Suitable land for settlement construction in I-1~I-5 low-hazard zones is optimal settlement areas for post-disaster reconstruction.展开更多

The QLD (Queensland) State Government has established the Queensland Reconstruction Authority within one month. The QLD (Queensland) State Government has established the Queensland Reconstruction Authority within one month. Recovery works in QLD seem to be very smooth, and transfer phase to the normal civil works is going to start. Eastern Japan also attacked by the great earthquake and following Tsunami on March 11, 2011. Japanese Government, however, established the Reconstruction Agency almost one year after the event. The reconstruction of the disaster area is still on the halfway. This paper aims to find out the differences between two countries from the viewpoints of organization, planning process and financial conditions.展开更多
The role of female sex pheromones in natural selection, particularly as a means for species recognition to avoid the generation of hybrid offspring with low fitness, has been widely explored and is generally accepted ...The role of female sex pheromones in natural selection, particularly as a means for species recognition to avoid the generation of hybrid offspring with low fitness, has been widely explored and is generally accepted by scholars. However, the significance of sex pheromones in shaping mate choice (sexual selection) and in competition over breeding resources (social se- lection) has been largely ignored. The effect of sexual selection on sex pheromones as a sexually dimorphic signaling trait has been discounted because the amount of pheromone released by females is typically minute, while the role of sex pheromones in competition over breeding resources (other than mates) has not yet been considered. As a result of natural selection, variation in sex pheromones among females is expected to be low, and males are not expected to choose their mates among phero- mone-releasing conspecific females. Sexual selection, on the other hand, should drive the increase in pheromone variance among females, and males are expected to choose females based on this variation. Moreover, social selection resulting from more general social interactions, for example competition among females for breeding sites and food, should also promote variance among female sex pheromones. Here, we review the cttrrent evidence for each of the three selection processes acting on sex pheromones of female moths as an advertising trait. We suggest that the three selection types are not mutually exclusive but rather act together to promote different fimess components in diverse ecological situations展开更多
