After analyzing several instances of typical Internet multimedia traffic captured in a campus network, this paper defines a new set of QoS classes according to the difference in downstream/upstream rates and proposes a modified K-SVD method that can automatically search for underlying structural patterns in the QoS characteristic space. We define bagQoS-words as the set of specific QoS local patterns, which can be expressed by core QoS characteristics. After the dictionary is constructed with an excess quantity of bag-QoSwords, Locality Constrained Feature Coding(LCFC) features of QoS classes are extracted. By associating a set of characteristics with a percentage of error, an objective function is formulated. In accordance with the modified K-SVD, Internet multimedia traffic can be classified into a corresponding QoS class with a linear Support Vector Machines(SVM) clas-sifier. Our experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed classification method.展开更多

Furthermore, by means of vibration-diagnostics monitoring of machines assisted by analytical methods it is possible to monitor and quantify dynamic parameters of a machine. By means of the analysis of dynamic behavior of rotor, it is possible to diagnose and solve the defects relating to rotor and other parts of machine. Recently, vibrations analysis and monitoring have become the most widespread method of machine diagnostics. Detection, identification and elimination of problems related to machine work can be simplified by modeling some dynamics solutions. The paper presents a mathematical model of elastic rotor with concentrated weight designed for the purpose of detecting defects with the help of vibrations measured by sensors based in bearings. Experimental results from test tables of the world's leading company, Bentley Nevada Co. USA, were used as the basis for development of this model. Accordingly, mathematical model for most of the cases was based on radial oscillation of rotor while torsion oscillations were used as the basis in some cases. Torsion vibrations cannot be detected without special sensors even at their highest magnitudes. Reliability of this model and accuracy of vibrodiagnostic analysis has been experimentally confirmed when applied on machines in operation.展开更多

First, the CCD vidicon aims at the fixed point. The image of the fixed point on the structure is gathered by a picture gathering card. By processing pictures with a self-programmed software, the real-time space coordinate of the cali- bration device can be obtained. Finally, the data is dealt with to get the movement curve, and the dynamic displacement is carried out. The system is applied to the test of a high voltage icing conductor. The result indicates that the dynamic data of the ice shedding conductor includes jumping amplitude, displacement-time curve and attenuation process.展开更多
The volume of influence of excavation at the right bank slope of Dagangshan Hydropower Station, southwest China, is essentially determined from microseismic monitoring, numerical modeling and conventional measurements...The volume of influence of excavation at the right bank slope of Dagangshan Hydropower Station, southwest China, is essentially determined from microseismic monitoring, numerical modeling and conventional measurements as well as in situ observations. Microseismic monitoring is a new application technique for investigating microcrackings in rock slopes. A micro- seismic monitoring network has been systematically used to monitor rock masses unloading relaxation due to continuous exca- vation of rock slope and stress redistribution caused by dam impoundment later on, and to identify and delineate the potential slippage regions since May, 2010. An important database of seismic source locations is available. The analysis of microseismic events showed a particular tempo-spatial distribution. Seismic events predominantly occurred around the upstream slope of 1180 m elevation, especially focusing on the hanging wall of fault XL316-1. Such phenomenon was interpreted by numerical modeling using RFPA-SRM code (realistic failure process analysis-strength reduction method). By comparing microseismic activity and results of numerical simulation with in site observation and conventional measurements results, a strong correlation can he obtained between seismic source locations and excavation-induced stress distribution in the working areas. The volume of influence of the rock slope is thus determined. Engineering practices show microseismic monitoring can accurately diagnose magnitude, intensity and associated tempo-spatial characteristics of tectonic activities such as faults and unloading zones. The integrated technique combining seismic monitoring with numerical modeling, as well as in site observation and conventional surveying, leads to a better understanding of the internal effect and relationship between microseismic activity and stress field in the right bank slope from different perspectives.展开更多

This system consists of an endoscope,an optical assembly with optical filters, a CCD camera, a frame grabber and associated image processingsoftware. Experiments are performed on a methane-air combustor and the temperature fields and the soot concentrationscorresponding to the flame images are obtained. The results have demonstrated that the system is capableof performing on-line measurement of flame and temperature distribution, providing temporal and spatial characterizationof the combustion process. In addition, the combination of advanced optical sensing and digital imageprocessing technique can help to define the threshold by the analysis of the background noise. Furthermore, theutilization of the filter technique can enhance the image presentation effect to an extent.展开更多
