The formation mechanism of silver nanostructure was proposed. The results show that both the PVP and the light irradiation are the keys to in-situ growth of silver nanostructure on quartz glass substrates. The silver nanostructure of the substrates which finally grow up to 150 nm after 20 h irradiation exhibits irregular shape, and some of nanoparticles stack to form bilayer. A new broad band appears in the absorption spectra of the substrates due to the interparticle dipole?dipole coupling of surface plasmon resonance response of the triangular silver nanoplate particles, which red shifts 600?800 nm as the particles grow up. The substrates have an emission band centered at 400 nm on their fluorescence spectra, and the fluorescence intensity shrinks as the average size of the silver nanostructure increases. The strongest SERS signal of SERS-active substrate is fabricated after 16 h.展开更多

The results show that densities and surface tensions of the mixtures decreased monotonously with increasing temperatures and increasing ionic liquid (IL) molar fraction. The densities and surface tensions of the mixtures are fitted well by Jouyban-Acree (JAM) model and LWW model respectively. Redlich-Kister (R-K)equation and modified Redlich-Kister (R-K) equation describe the excess molar volumes and excess surface tensions of the mixtures well respectively. The objective of this study is to illus- trate food availability to the bottom-sowed scallop Patinopecten yessoensis under the influences of the Yellow Sea Cold Water Mass (YSCWM), freshwater input and feedbacks of cultivated scallops. Significant thermal stratification was present in open waters from July to October, and salinity decreased in July and August in surface layers in the mariculture area. Nutrient concentrations increased with depth in both areas in summer, but were similar through water column in November and December. On average, nutrient in- creased from summer to autumn in all components except ammonia. Nutrient concentrations lower than the minimum thresholds for phytoplankton growth were present only in upper layers in summer, but stoichiometric nitrogen limitation existed in the entire inves- tigation period. Column-averaged Chl-a concentration was lower in open waters than in mariculture area in all months. It increased significantly in mariculturc area in August and October, and was less variable in open waters. Our results show that nutrients limita- tion to phytoplankton growth is present mainly in upper layer in association with stratification caused by YSCWM in summer. Freshwater input and upwelling of nutrients accumulated in YSCWM can stimulate phytoplankton production in mariculture area. Farming activities may change stoichiometric nutrient ratios but have less influence on Chl-a concentration.展开更多

The GZO thin films with nanodisk/nanoflower morphologies were prepared by a simple spin‐coating process followed by one‐step hydrothermal treatment. Addition of polymer during hydrothermal treatment resulted in nanodisk and nanoflower morphologies. The morphology, microstructure and chemical composition of thin films prepared under different conditions were examined by field‐emission scanning electron microscopy (FE‐SEM), X‐ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman spectroscopy. The XRD and FE‐SEM investigations confirmed that the GZO nanodisks, na‐norods and nanoflowers formed on the AlN/Si substrates were all wurtzite phase. Green fluorescent protein (GFP) was immobilized on the as‐synthesized GZO nanostructured materials by a dipping process. In this context, a field experiment was conducted for two successive cropping seasons 2008/2009 to 2009/2010 at Kenilworth Experimental Station to evaluate the effect of row spacings and plant density on growth. Three row spacing (0.225, 0.45 and 0.90 m) and five plant densities (5, 7.5, 10, 12.5 and 15 plants m^-2) were used. Treatments were combined in a factorial combination and laid out in a completely randomized design with replications consisting of five single plants randomly selected from each treatment for destructive sampling. Growth factors reacted differently to row spacing by plant density. At crop establishment, growth indicators were not significantly affected by either main effects or a combination thereof. However, at the end of the vegetative phase, almost all growth indicators reached a maximum and were significantly affected by treatment interactions. Growth analysis showed that there was an interaction effect of row spacing by plant density on plant height, dry matter (DM) accumulation, leaf area index (LAI), crop growth rate (CGR) and net assimilation rate (NAR) of maize. Therefore, the current investigation demonstrated that a row spacing of 0.45 m or 0.90 m with a plant density of 10 plants m^-2 was optimum for the selected ultra-fast maize hybrid under irrigation.展开更多

Surface-grown graphenes also exhibit wrinkles, which are larger in dimension and are thought to be caused by the difference in thermal expansion coefficients between graphene and the underlying substrate in the cooling process after high temperature growth. For further characterization and applications, it is necessary to transfer the surface-grown graphenes onto dielectric substrates, and other wrinkles are generated during this process. Here, we focus on the wrinkles of transferred graphene and demonstrate that the surface morphology of the growth substrate is the origin of the new wrinkles which arise in the surface-to-surface transfer process; we call these morphology- induced wrinkles. Based on a careful statistical analysis of thousands of atomic force microscopy (AFM) topographic data, we have concluded that these wrinkles on transferred few-layer graphene (typically 1-3 layers) are determined by both the growth substrate morphology and the transfer process. Depending on the transfer medium and conditions, most of the wrinkles can be either released or preserved. Our work suggests a new route for graphene engineering involving structuring the growth substrate and tailoring the transfer process.展开更多

This understanding, together with the improved cathode interface using bilayer-structured electron transporting interlayers of [6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM)/ZnO, leads to the successful fabrication of highly efficient, stable and reproducible planar heterojunction CH3NH3PbI3-xCl2 solar cells with impressive power-conversion efficiencies (PCEs) up to 15.9%. A 1-square-centimeter device yielding a PCE of 12.3% has been realized, demonstrating that this simple planar structure is promising for large-area devices.展开更多

They were randomly divided into three groups and received conservative treatment, epidermal growth factor (EGF) via Gelfoam patching, or edge-approximation plus Gelfoam patching respectively. Patients in each group were further divided into two subgroups according to the eardrum flap area ≤ 1/2 or 〉1/2 of the perforation size. The healing rate and mean closure time after tympanic membrane perforation were evaluated at three months. Results: Of the total 291 participants, 281 were included in the final statistical analysis. The area of curled edge did not affect the healing outcome significantly in any groups (P〉0.05). The healing rate varied slightly: 90.7% vs 92.3% in spontaneous healing group, 98.2% vs 97.4% in EGF via Gelfoam patching group, and 96.5% vs 100% in edge-approximation plus Gelfoam patching group. In addition, in all groups the area of curled edge did not affect the mean closure time significantly (P〉0.05). The closure time was (32.3±2.4) d vs (30.6±3.1) d in sponaneous healing group, (13.4±2.5) d vs (13.1± 1.9) d in EGF via Gelfoam patching group, and (11.9±3.1) d vs (12.2±2.1) d in edge-approximation plus Gelfoam patching group. Conclusion: The eardrum flap area of traumatic eardrum perforation does not significantly affect the clinical outcomes.展开更多

However, obtaining large area thin films of MoS2 for future device applications still remains a challenge. In the present study, the amounts of the precursors (S and MOO3) were varied systematically in order to optimize the growth of highly crystalline and large area MoS2 layers by the chemical vapor deposition method. Careful control of the amounts of precursors was found to the key factor in the synthesis of large area highly crystalline flakes. The thickness of the layers was confirmed by Raman spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy. The optical properties and chemical composition were studied by photoluminescence (PL) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The emergence of strong direct excitonic emissions at 1.82 eV (A-exciton, with a normalized PL intensity of -55 × 10^3) and 1.98 eV (B-exciton, with a normalized PL intensity of -5 × 10^3) of the sample at room temperature clearly indicates the high luminescence quantum efficiency. The mobility of the films was found to be 0.09 cm^2/(V.s) at room temperature. This study provides a method for the controlled synthesis of high-quality two-dimensional (2D) transition metal dichalcogenide materials, useful for applications in nanodevices, optoelectronics and solar energv conversion.展开更多
Using molecular dynamics simulation, we compared evaporation behavior of a tiny amount of water molecules adsorbed on solid surfaces with different dipole lengths, including surface dipole lengths of 1 fold, 2 folds, ...Using molecular dynamics simulation, we compared evaporation behavior of a tiny amount of water molecules adsorbed on solid surfaces with different dipole lengths, including surface dipole lengths of 1 fold, 2 folds, 4 folds, 6 folds and 8 folds of 0.14 nm and different charges from 0.1e to 0.9e. Surfaces with short dipole lengths (1-fold system) can always maintain hydrophobic character and the evaporation speeds are not influenced, whether the surface charges are enhanced or weakened; but when surface dipole lengths get to 8 folds, surfaces become more hydrophilic as the surface charge increases, and the evaporation speeds increase gradually and monotonically. By tuning dipole lengths from 1-fold to 8-fold systems, we confirmed non-monotonic variation of the evaporation flux (first increases, then decreases) in 4 fold system with charges (0.1e-0.7e), reported in our previous paper [S. Wang, et al., J. Phys. Chem. B 116 (2012) 13863], and also show the process from the enhancement of this unexpected non-monotonic variation to its vanishment with surface dipole lengths increasing. Herein, we demonstrated two key factors to influence the evaporation flux of a tiny amount of water molecules adsorbed on solid surfaces: the exposed surficial area of water aggregation from where the water molecules can evaporate directly and the attraction potential from the substrate hindering the evaporation. In addition, more interestingly, we showed extra steric effect of surface dipoles on further increase of evaporation flux for 2-folds, 4-folds, 6-folds and 8-folds systems with charges around larger than 0.7e. (The steric effect is first reported by parts of our authors [C. Wang, et al., Sci. Rep. 2 (2012) 358]). This study presents a complete physical picture of the influence of surface dipole lengths on the evaporation behavior of the adsorbed tiny amount of water.展开更多

Then BMSCs were transfected with Ad-HGF at the optimal gene transduction efficiency of 100 multiplicity of infection (MOI). The efficiency of transfection and the expression of HGF in the suspension were detected by flow cytometry and enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) respectively. Thirtytwo female rats were subjected to 90℃ water for 12 seconds to induce a partial thickness skin burn. The animals were randomly divided into mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) treatment group (Group A), Ad-HGF treatment group (Group B),Ad-HGF-modified MSCs treatment group (Group C) and saline control group (Group D). On days 3, 5, 7, 14 and 21 postburn, HE and Sirius red stain were performed to observe the burn wound healing and collagen content. The content of hydroxyproline in wounds was also detected.Transplanted cells and the expression of(sex-determining region Y) SRY gene were detected by in situ hybridization and polymerase chain reaction (PCR), while the expression of HGF in wound tissues was detected by ELISA.Results: The result of flow cytometry showed that the transfection efficiency was 86.41% at 100 MOI. Compared with the control group, the content of HGF in the supernatant after transfection increased time-dependently and peaked at 48 h, showing significant differences at 24 h, 48 h,72 h and 96 h (P<0.01 ). Results of HE stain revealed that the range of re-epidermidalization in Group C was significantly larger than that in other groups in the first week. Three weeks postburn, the epidermis was significantly thicker in Group C than in other groups and the nails of dermis inserted into the derma of burn wounds. Sirius red stain showed that the content of collagen Ⅰ in Group C was much less compared with that in other groups 21 days postburn. In situ hybridization revealed an expression of SRY gene in burned female rats, consistent with the finding of PCR. Immunohistochemistry demonstrated the largest increase of HGF expression in Group C, whose contents of hydroxyproline, however, decreased on day 7 postburn. Compared with other groups, the content of HGF in the wounds of Group C increased obviously on day 14 after transfection (P<0.05) and there was no significant difference among Groups A, B and D.Conclusion: Our study suggests that transplantation of MSCs modified with Ad-HGF has positive effects on the healing of burn wounds probably through differentiation and release of relevant cytokines.展开更多

A 1-square-centimeter device yielding a PCE of 12.3% has been realized, demonstrating that this simple planar structure is promising for large-area devices.
文摘Objective: To retrospectively study the clinical effects of eardrum flap area on the healing outcome following traumatic perforation. Methods: Totally 291 traumatic eardrum perforations with in-/everted edges were included in this study. Conclusion: The eardrum flap area of traumatic eardrum perforation does not significantly affect the clinical outcomes.
文摘There has been growing research interest in the use of molybdenum disulfide in the fields of optoelectronics and energy harvesting devices, by virtue of its indirect-to-direct band gap tunability. This study provides a method for the controlled synthesis of high-quality two-dimensional (2D) transition metal dichalcogenide materials, useful for applications in nanodevices, optoelectronics and solar energv conversion.

文摘Using molecular dynamics simulation, we compared evaporation behavior of a tiny amount of water molecules adsorbed on solid surfaces with different dipole lengths, including surface dipole lengths of 1 fold, 2 folds, 4 folds, 6 folds and 8 folds of 0.14 nm and different charges from 0.1e to 0.9e. This study presents a complete physical picture of the influence of surface dipole lengths on the evaporation behavior of the adsorbed tiny amount of water.

文摘Objective: To explore the effects of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs)transfected with adenoviral vector carrying hepatocyte growth factor (HGF, Ad-HGF) on burn wound healing. Methods: BMSCs from male Wistar rats were separated and purified with Percoll separating medium by density gradient centrifugation and cultured with DMEM containing 20% fetal bovine serum (FBS). Compared with other groups, the content of HGF in the wounds of Group C increased obviously on day 14 after transfection (P<0.05) and there was no significant difference among Groups A, B and D.Conclusion: Our study suggests that transplantation of MSCs modified with Ad-HGF has positive effects on the healing of burn wounds probably through differentiation and release of relevant cytokines.
文摘Tin oxide thin films were deposited by direct current (DC) reactive sputtering at gas pressures of 0.015 mbar - 0.15 mbar. The crystalline structure and surface morphology of the prepared SnO2 films were introduced by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). These films showed preferred orientation in the (110) plane. Due to AFM micrographs, the grain size increased non-uniformly as the working gas pressure increased.
