The female ovipositor is described and illustrated for the first time. The original description of the male hypopygium is expanded upon the description of new morphological characters and detailed illustrations.展开更多

The female internal reproductive system of Libnotes(Libnotes) pseudonohirai is compared with that of the two presently examined species, Hexatoma(Eriocera) cleopatroides Men, 2015 and Holorusia sp., as well as some species previously documented. The morphological differences of internal reproductive organs for these species are listed. Additionally, the characteristic modes of internal reproductive systems for Tipulidae and Limoniidae are compared and summarized.展开更多

The new species is most similar to another fossil species documented in Dominican amber, B. brodzinskii Krzemiński, 1996, by the wing pattern, but is separated from the latter by the absence of final part of Sc, the arcuate origin of Rs, and the length of petiole of cell m1, which is distinctly longer than the cross vein m-m. A key to all fossil species of the genus Brachypremna is provided.展开更多
