SINR distribution and rate overage distribution are crucial for optimization of deployment of Ultra-dense Het Nets.Most existing literatures assume that BSs have full queues and full-buffer traffic.In fact,due to ultra-dense deployment of small cells,traffic in small cell varies dramatically in time and space domains.Hence,it is more practical to investigate scenario with burst traffic.In this paper,we consider a two-tier non-uniform ultra-dense Het Net with burst traffic,where macro BSs are located according to Poisson Point Process(PPP),and pico BSs are located according to Poisson Hole Process(PHP).The closed-form expressions of SINR distribution and rate distribution are derived,and then validated through simulation.Our study shows that different from the result of full buffer case,the SINR distribution and rate distribution of users depend on the average transmission probabilities of BSs in burst traffic case. 展开更多

AIM: To investigate the pathological characteristics of non-thermal damage induced by pulsed high intensity focused ultrasound (PHIFU) combined with ultrasound contrast agent (UCA), SonoVue (Bracco SpA, Milan, Italy) in rabbit liver VX2 tumor. METHODS: Liver VX2 tumor models were established in 20 rabbits, which were divided randomly into PHIFU combined with ultrasound contrast agent group (PHIFU + UCA group) and sham group. In the PHIFU + UCA group, 0.2 mL of SonoVue was injected intravenously into the tumor, followed by ultrasound exposure of Isp 5900 W/cm^2. The rabbits were sacrificed one day after ultrasound exposure. Specimens of the exposed tumor tissues were obtained and observed pathologically under light microscope and transmission electron microscope. The remaining tumor tissues were sent for 2,3,5-Triphenyltetrazolium chloride (TTC) staining. RESULTS: Before Trc staining, tumor tissues in both the sham and the PHIFU + UCA groups resembled gray fish meat, After TIC staining, the tumor tissues were uniformly stained red, with a clear boundary between tumor tissue and normal tissue, Histological examination showed signs of tumor cell injury in PHIFU + UCA group, with cytoplasmic vacuoles of various sizes, chromatin margination and karyopyknosis. Electron microscopic examination revealed tumor cell volume reduction, karyopyknosis, chromatin margination, intercellular space widening, the presence of high electro'n-density apoptotic bodies and vacuoles in cytoplasm. CONCLUSION: The non-thermal effects of PHIFU combined with UCA can be used to ablate rabbit liver VX2 tumors. 展开更多

However, this is not the case between lipids and heart failure. Ironically, high lipid levels are associated with better outcomes in heart failure, but the mechan-isms underlying the phenomenon are not fully understood. This study was performed to test the hypothesis that reduced intestinal lipid absorption due to venous congestion may lead to low lipid levels.MethodsWe collected data of clinical characteristics, echocardio-graph, and lipid profile in 442 unselected patients with congestive heart failure. Correlations between lipid levels[including total cho-lesterol(TCL), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C), and triglycerides(TG)]and right ventricle end diastolic diameter (RVEDD), left ventricle end diastolic diameter (LVEDD), right atrium diameter (RA), left atrium diameter (LA), or left ventricle ejection fraction (LVEF) were analyzed using Pearson correlation and partial correlation. RVEDD, LVEDD, RA, and LA were indexed to the body surface area.ResultsThere was a significantly inverse correlation between TCL le-vels and RVEDD (r=-0.34,P〈0.001) and RA (r=-0.36,P〈0.001). Other lipids such as LDL-C, HDL-C, and TG had asimilar inverse correlation with RVEDD and RA. All these correlations remained unchanged after adjusting for age, gender, smoking status, physical activity levels, comorbidities, and medication use.ConclusionsLipid levels were inversely correlated to RVEDD in patients with congestive heart failure; however, because this was an observational study, further investigation is needed to verify our results as wellas identify a causal relationship, if any. 展开更多

Hydraulic fluids of new concept, high bulk modulus oils, have been developed as a new approach to improve the performance of a hydraulic servo system and verified. In this paper, practical performances of high bulk modulus oil, such as oil temperature rise during pump test, air bubbles generation by ultrasonic wave vibration, oxidation stability and anti-wear property, were studied. And the new oil was confirmed to have excellent practical performances besides advantages in pressure response and volumetric efficiency of pumps. Novel carbon-carbon ultracapacitors and hybrid lithium-carbon devices are described. New approach to the design of electrode materials and electrochemical systems followed by the improved design of ultracapacitor cells and modules have resulted in prototypes of superior performance that was verified by independent tests in the Institute of Transportation Studies, UC (ultracapacitor) Davis, in JME Inc., in Wayne State University, and in some other labs. All the test results confirm the superlative performance of the devices developed: carbon-carbon ultracapacitors demonstrate the extremely low inner resistance resulting in the highest power capability and efficiency that also alleviates the cooling requirements and improves safety. Our "parallel" hybrid devices demonstrate substantially higher energy density than competing LIC (lithium ion capacitor) technologies keeping at the same time the high power density, comparable with the best carbon-carbon ultracapacitors available in the market. In order to make ultracapacitor technology even more attractive to automakers, new organic electrolytes (not ionic liquids) have been developed and are currently under testing at temperatures about 100 ℃ and voltages up to 3.0 V. 展开更多

The current need to fasten the implementation of renewable energies greatly depends on the development of competitive storage devices, and while there is not a single technology which is likely capable to competitively cover the wide range of possible demands, electrochemical technologies are one of the most promising for many of them. For the realization of this promise, new materials fulfilling criteria such as high energy density, high power density, competitive cost, reliability, and environmental compatibility need to be developed in the near future. Electrochemical energy storage devices can be classified into two main technologies: supercapacitors and batteries (including redox flow batteries). Materials and applications for these technologies are discussed and compared, listing current status, technical and strategic challenges. 展开更多

Carbon materials with adjustable porosity,controllable het-eroatom doping and low-cost have been received considerable attention as supercapacitor electrodes.However,using carbon materials with abundant micropores,a high surface area and a high-dopant content for an aqueous su-percapacitor with a high energy output still remains a challenge.We report the easy synthesis of interconnected carbon spheres by a polymerization re-action between p-benzaldehyde and 2,6-diaminopyridine.The synthesis in-volves adjusting the mass ratio of the copolymer and KOH activator to achieve increased charge storage ability and high energy output,which are attributed to the high ion-accessible area provided by the large number of micropores,high N/O contents and rapid ion diffusion channels in the porous structure.At a PMEC∶KOH mass ratio of 1∶1,the high electrolyte ion-adsorption area(2599.76 m^(2) g^(−1))and the N/O dopant atoms of the conductive framework of a typical carbon electrode produce a superior specific capacity(303.2 F g^(−1)@0.5 A g^(−1))giving an assembled symmetric capacitor a high energy delivery of 11.3 Wh kg^(−1)@250 W kg^(−1).This study presents a simple strategy for synthesizing microporous carbon and highlights its potential use in KOH-based supercapacitors. 展开更多

A scalable approach to obtaining high-density, large-area single-walled carbon nanotube (SWNT) arrays is essential for realizing the full potential of SWNTs in practical electronic devices; this is still a great challenge. Here, we report an improved synthetic method for large-area growth of ultra-high-density SWNT arrays on sapphire surfaces by combining Trojan catalysts (released from the substrate, to assure ultra-high density) with Mo nanoparticles (loaded on the surface, to stabilize the released Trojan catalysts) as cooperating catalysts. Dense and perfectly aligned SWNTs covered the entire substrate and the local density was as high as 160 tubes/pro. Field-effect transistors (FETs) built on such arrays gave an output current density of -488 μA/μm at the drain-source voltage (Vds) = the gate-source voltage (Vgs) = -2 V, corresponding to an on-conductance per width of 244 μS/μm. These results confirm the wide range of potential applications of Trojan-Mo catalysts in the structure-controlled growth of SWNTs. 展开更多

We examine the high density limit of the adsorption isotherms of hydrogen on MOF-5. The isotherms are calculated using quantum GCMC simulations over the pressure range: 0-150 atm (1 atm = 1.01325 ~ 105 Pa) in the subcritical and supercritical state at 30, 50, 77, 113, 196 and 296 K. The fluid phase density in the pores for each temper- ature is calculated and shown to reach values higher than normal liquid density. The fluid phase density obtained at 30 K is observed to correspond to a highly compressed liquid. The radial distribution function of the adsorbed phase at 30 and 50 K are calculated. The adsorption isotherms are compared with available experimental data at 30, 50, 77 and 298 K. 展开更多

Adding a new equation to the two-equation K-turbulence model framework,this paper proposed a three-equation turbulence model to determine the density variance for high-speed aero-optics and high-speed compressible turbulent flows.Simulations were performed with the new model for supersonic and hypersonic flat-plate turbulent boundary layer and hypersonic ramp flows.The results showed that the prediction with the present model agrees well with the experimental data and is significantly better than the Lutz's model in predicting the density variance for the flat-plate flows.Furthermore,the present model can produce more accurate skin pressure and skin heat flux distributions than the original K-model in simulating hypersonic compression ramp flows with separation and reattachment and shock/boundary layer interactions.Without introducing a variety of ad hoc wall damping and wall-reflection terms,the proposed three-equation turbulence model is applicable to highspeed aero-optics and turbulent flows of real vehicles of complex configuration. 展开更多

Flexible supercapacitors (SCs) are attractive energy storage devices for wearable electronics, but their applications are hindered by their low volumetric energy densities. Two dimensional (2D) non-carbon nanomaterials are the most promising pseudocapacitive materials for high volumetric capacitance electrodes. However, they are poorly conductive and prone to self-stacking, which results in unsatisfactory electrochemical performance. In this work, large-scale V2O5·nH2O ultrathin nanosheets are synthesized by a facile and scalable method and transformed into layered and compact composite films with one-dimensional carbon nanotubes (CNTs). The self-standing films show an optimized volumetric capacitance of 521.0Fcm^-3 with only 10 wt% of CNTs, which is attributed to dramatically enhanced electrical conductivity beyond the electrical percolation threshold, high dispersion of pseudocapacitive V2O5·nH2O nanosheets, and high mass density of the films. All-solid-state flexible SCs made of V2O5·nH2O/CNTs films show a maximum energy density of 17.4WhL^-1. 展开更多

The notion of a band gap is ubiquitous in the characterization of matter.Particularly interesting are pseudo-gaps,which are enigmatic regions of very low density of states that have been linked to novel phenomena like high temperature superconductivity.In this work,we discover a novel origin for pseudo-gaps when boundaries are introduced in a non-Hermitian lattice.It generically occurs due to the interference between two or more asymmetric pumping channels,and possess no analog in Hermitian systems.Mathematically,it can be visualized as being created by divergences of spectral flow in the complex energy plane,analogous to how sharp edges creates divergent electric fields near an electrical conductor.A non-Hermitian pseudo-gap can host symmetry-protected mid-gap modes like ordinary topological gaps,but the mid-gap modes are extended instead of edge-localized,and exhibit extreme sensitivity to symmetry-breaking perturbations.Surprisingly,pseudo-gaps can also host an integer number of edge modes even though the pseudo-bands possess fractional topological windings,or even no well-defined Chern number at all,in the marginal case of a phase transition point.Challenging conventional notions of topological bulk-boundary correspondences and even the very concept of a band,pseudo-gaps post profound implications that extend to many-body settings,such as fractional Chern insulators. 展开更多

The mode splitting in a system with Doppler-broadened high-density two-level atoms in the presence of magnetic field inside a relatively long optical cavity is studied in the superstrong coupling regime(atoms-cavity coupling strength g√N is near or larger than the cavity free-spectral range?FSR).The effect of a magnetic field applied along the quantization axis is used to break the polarization degeneracy of the cavity and thereby introduce birefringence(or Faraday rotation)into the medium.The cavity modes are further split in the presence of the magnetic field compared with the normal case of the multi-normal-mode splitting of the two-level system near the D2 line of87Rb.The dependence of the mode splitting on the magnetic field and the temperature is studied.The theoretical analysis according to the linear dispersion theory can provide a good explanation. 展开更多

OBJEVTIVE: To investigate the antioxidant and hepatoprotective properties of the different extracts Guizhencao (Herba Bidentis Bipinnatae) against liver injury in hyperlipidemia rats. METHODS: The rats were divided into 7 groups, with 10 rats in each. Rats were treated with high-fat diet for 18 weeks besides the normal control group, then rats in both normal control and model groups were received 5 mL/kg -1 · day -1 of saline and those in the positive control group with 2 mg/kg -1 · day -1 of lovastatin. Rats in the positive control group and different Guizhencao (Herba Bidentis Bipinnatae) extracts treatment groups (ethyl acetate extract group, n-hexane extract group, ethanol extract group, and aqueous extract group) were treated with corresponding extract at a concentration of 5 mL/kg -1 · day -1 . After 8 weeks treatment, all rats were sacrificed and total blood samples were collected. Histological analysis of liver was underdone by hematoxylin and eosin. The levels of serum ala-nine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), glouse (GLU), cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C) and high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol were measured according to standard procedure using auto-analyzer. The superoxide dismutase (SOD) and malondialdehyde (MDA) levels in liver were ananlyzed by procedure instruction. RESULTS: The histopathological analysis implied that the administration of Guizhencao (HerbaBidentis Bipinnatae) extracts resulted in hepatoprotective role compared with that of the model group. In addition, the high-fat diet caused a remarkable increase of ALT, AST, GLU, TC, TG, LDL-C and MDA levels. A decline in HDL-C and SOD concentrations and a reversal of effects were observed in different Guizhencao (Herba Bidentis Bipinnatae) extracts groups, especially in the aqueous extract and ethanol extract groups. CONCLUSION: The different extracts of Guizhencao (Herba Bidentis Bipinnatae) can play a protecting role against liver injury in hyperlipidemia rats maybe through decreasing ALT, AST, GLU, TC, TG, LDL-C and MDA levels and enhancing the liver anti-oxidative ability. 展开更多
