Ci, a treasure in ancient Chinese literature, makes frequent use of metaphor. Its unique form of expression and abundant artistic effects often create difficulties in translation. This study selects some representative metaphor examples from Song Ci to explore the patterns and strategies in the translation process. The study reveals that in face of the metaphors in Song Ci, translators need to comprehensively apply strategies such as retaining the metaphor, replacing the metaphor, and translating the literal meaning to ensure the quality of translation while restoring the aesthetic charm of the original metaphor.展开更多

However, it re...Current evidence shows that apolipoprotein E (APOE), apolipoprotein CI (APOC1) and low density lipoprotein receptor-related protein (LRP) variations are related to late-onset Alzheimer's disease. However, it remains unclear if genetic polymorphisms in these genes are associated with cognitive decline in late-onset Alzheimer's disease patients. We performed a 30-month longitudi- nal cohort study to investigate the relationship between Alzheimer's disease and APOE, APOC1, and LRP. In this study, 78 Chinese Han patients with late-onset Alzheimer's disease were recruit- ed form Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in China. APOE, APOC1, and LRP genotyping was performed using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphisms. The Mini-Mental State Examination and Clinical Dementia Rating Scale were used to assess pa- tients' cognitive function. After a 30-month follow-up period, we found a significant reduction in Mini-Mental State Examination total score, a higher proportion of patients fulfilling cognitive impairment progression criteria, and a higher proportion of APOC1 H2 carriers in APOE 4 carriers compared with non-carriers. In addition, the APOE 4 allele frequency was significantly higher in the cognitive impairment progression group compared with the non-cognitive im- pairment progression group. In conclusion, APOE e4 plays an important role in augmenting cognitive decline, and APOC1 H2 may act synergistically with APOE ~4 in increasing the risk of cognitive decline in Chinese patients with late-onset Alzheimer's disease.展开更多

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common type of liver cancer, which arises from hepatocytes and accounts for approximately 70%-85% of cases. Hepatitis B virus (HBV) frequently causes liver inflammation, hepatic damage and subsequent cirrhosis. Integrated viral DNA is found in 85%-90% of HBV-related HCCs. Its presence in tumors from non-cirrhotic livers of children or young adults further supports the role of viral DNA integration in hepatocarcinogenesis. Integration of subgenomic HBV DNA fragments into different locations within the host DNA is a significant feature of chronic HBV infection. Integration has two potential consequences: (1) the host genome becomes altered (“cis” effect); and (2) the HBV genome becomes altered (“trans” effect). The cis effect includes insertional mutagenesis, which can potentially disrupt host gene function or alter host gene regulation. Tumor progression is frequently associated with rearrangement and partial gain or loss of both viral and host sequences. However, the role of integrated HBV DNA in hepatocarcinogenesis remains controversial. Modern technology has provided a new paradigm to further our understanding of disease mechanisms. The track, energy spectrum, and angle of produced electrons when gamma rays traversed a silicon or silicon dioxide cube were calculated. A simplified model of a 500 × 500 CIS array was established, and the transient effects of gamma rays in the CIS were simulated. The raw images were captured when the CIS was irradiated by gamma rays. The experimental results were compared with the simulation results. The characteristics of the typical events induced by transient effects were analyzed.展开更多

Our living environments are being gradually occupied with an abundant number of digital objects that have networking and computing capabilities. After these devices are plugged into a network, they initially advertise...Our living environments are being gradually occupied with an abundant number of digital objects that have networking and computing capabilities. After these devices are plugged into a network, they initially advertise their presence and capabilities in the form of services so that they can be discovered and, if desired, exploited by the user or other networked devices. With the increasing number of these devices attached to the network, the complexity to configure and control them increases, which may lead to major processing and communication overhead. Hence, the devices are no longer expected to just act as primitive stand-alone appliances that only provide the facilities and services to the user they are designed for, but also offer complex services that emerge from unique combinations of devices. This creates the necessity for these devices to be equipped with some sort of intelligence and self-awareness to enable them to be self-configuring and self-programming. However, with this "smart evolution", the cognitive load to configure and control such spaces becomes immense. One way to relieve this load is by employing artificial intelligence (AI) techniques to create an intelligent "presence" where the system will be able to recognize the users and autonomously program the environment to be energy efficient and responsive to the user's needs and behaviours. These AI mechanisms should be embedded in the user's environments and should operate in a non-intrusive manner. This paper will show how computational intelligence (CI), which is an emerging domain of AI, could be employed and embedded in our living spaces to help such environments to be more energy efficient, intelligent, adaptive and convenient to the users.展开更多

The structural parameters were obtained and significant correlation betwee...Optimized calculations of 75 PCDDs and their parent DD were carded out at the B3LYP/6-31G* level by density functional theory (DFT) method. The structural parameters were obtained and significant correlation between the C1 substitution position and some structural parameters was found. Consequently, the number of C1 substitution positions was taken as theoretical descriptors to establish two novel QSPR models for predicting lgKow and -lgSw of all PCDD congeners. The two models achieved in this work contain two variables (Na and Nβ), of which r = 0.9312, 0.9965 and SD = 0.27, 0.12 respectively, and t values are all large. The variation inflation factors (VIF) of variables in the two models herein are both less than 5.0, suggesting high accuracy of the lgKow and -lgSw predicting models, and the results of cross-validation test also show that the two models exhibit optimum stability and good predictive power. By comparison, the correlation and predictive ability of the present work are more advantageous than those obtained using semi-empirical AM1 and GC-RI methods.展开更多

[Method] Based on the observation of air ions, temperature, relative humidity, the spatial changes of negativ...[Objective] The study aimed to discuss the spatial changes of negative air ion concentration in Hefei City. [Method] Based on the observation of air ions, temperature, relative humidity, the spatial changes of negative air ion concentration in different districts of Hefei City were ana- lyzed firstly, then the correlation between negative air ion concentration and meteorological factors was discussed. [ Result] Air cleanliness index (CI) of the parks, residential areas, industrial regions, transport stations and prosperous commercial districts was 0.86, 0.53, 0.37, 0.26 and 0.17 respectively, and the latter two regions suffered mild and moderate pollution separately. Daily variations of negative air ion concentration in the residential areas and parks of Hefei City were obvious, showing U shape, that is, the maximum values appeared in the morning and evening, while the minimum values could be found around 14 :(30. There was no distinctly regular variation of negative air ion concentration in the prosperous com- mercial districts, transport stations and industrial areas. In Hefei City, the concentration of negative air ions showed an increasing trend from the ur- ban districts to the suburban districts; it was obviously higher in the residential areas and parks with numerous plants and waters compared with the prosperous commercial districts and transport stations. Negative air ion concentration correlated with relative humidity positively and temperature negatively, so the main meteorological factors influencing the negative air ion concentration in Hefei City were temperature and relative humidity. [ Coedusloa] The research could provide scientific references for city planning and greenbelt construction in future.展开更多

With the increasing use of synthetic pyrethroids (SPs), the significance of ecological safety and health risk is an emerging concern, In this study, we evaluated the chronic aquatic toxicity of eis-bifenthrin (cis...With the increasing use of synthetic pyrethroids (SPs), the significance of ecological safety and health risk is an emerging concern, In this study, we evaluated the chronic aquatic toxicity of eis-bifenthrin (cis-BF) in Daphnia magna and its cytotoxicity in Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells as well as human cervical carcinoma (Hela) ceils. Chronic aquatic toxicity tests showed that cis-BF could significantly affect the reproduction of D. magna. The lowest observed effective concentration and the non-observed effective concentration of cis-BF to D. magna were 0.02 and 0.01 μg/L, respectively, and the chronic value was 0.014 μg/L. The intrinsic rate of natural increase was significantly decreased (p 〈 0.05) to 0.02 μg/L. The cytotoxicity assay demonstrated that cis-BF decreased cell viability in CHO and Hela cells in a concentration- and time-dependent manner. The IC50 values for Hela and CHO cells were 4.0 × 10^-5 and 3.2 × 10^-5 mol/L, respectively. Together, these results indicated that cis-BF induced chronic toxicity in both aquatic invertebrate animals and mammalian cells. These findings assist in understanding the impact of SPs on health and environmental safety. Considering the wide spectrum of SPs, a more comprehensive understanding of the negative effects is indispensible for planning future application and regulation of these pesticides.展开更多

The software system, which has many functions including the intro-duction of gear vibration signals, signal processing, graphical display, fault detection and diagnosis, monitoring and so on, especially, the ability of diagnosing gear faults. This article is based on the studies of land use and coverage change (LUCC) with the interpretation result from La...Land eco-sensitivity assessment is an important method in analyzing regional eco-environmental safety. This article is based on the studies of land use and coverage change (LUCC) with the interpretation result from Landsat images. It analyzes the land use degree of Shangluo City and gives the land eco-sensitivity classification, which includes soil and water conservation, disaster prevention and eco-environmental protection. Then an improved classification model is taken through the gray model and the variation coefficient. By comparing sensitivity in each level of land use degree change, the ecological recovery mode in study area is analyzed. The results show: the land use degree in Shangluo City has been declining from 1990 to 2009, with large area converted form cropland to forest, environment becomes better; the sensitivities of zoning based on the index level shows the medium sensitive area was largest. According to the variation coefficient gives the more reasonable proportion, the zoning was improved based on uncertainties. Because of the least amount of land use degradation area was taken in high sensitive region, it is considered that the ecological construction model in study area was still worth discussing. The healthy ecological development mode is proposed that low sensitive region should be protected while high sensitive region should receive high attention, so as to further improve the regional ecological security and improve the living environment efficiently.展开更多
A 5' flanking region of the well-conserved Toll/interleukin-1 receptor domain (TIR)-encoding sequence was isolated from the genomic DNA ofMelampsora magnusiana Wagner resistant clones of hybrid triploid poplars [(...A 5' flanking region of the well-conserved Toll/interleukin-1 receptor domain (TIR)-encoding sequence was isolated from the genomic DNA ofMelampsora magnusiana Wagner resistant clones of hybrid triploid poplars [(Populus tomentosa × P. bolleana) × P. tomentosa]. Sequencing results and alignment analysis show that the obtained TIR-specific promoter (named as PtTIRp01) was 1,732 bp in length; moreover 3' region of the PtTIRp01 contains a responds to the 5' composition of TIR-NBS type gene PtDRG02, of 747 bp long 5' region of TIR-NBS type gene PtDRG02 and its 398 bp complete TIR-encoding sequence, which significantly corindicating that the obtained TIR-specific promoter region consists upstream region of promoter (985 bp). It was found that the 5' region of TIR-NBS type gene PtDRG02 was characterized in the downstream region of the transcriptional start, named as 5'-untranslated region (5' UTR), consisting of one 93 bp 5'-untranslation exon, one 213 bp intron and one 441 bp TIR-encoding open reading frame (ORF). In addition, several putative cis-acting motifs were present in the obtained TIR-specific promoter of PtDRG02, including one TATA box, one GC-rich, one AT-rich, one P-box, one 3-AF1 binding site, two CAAT boxes, two GT-1 motifs, three typical W-boxes, four I-boxes, and one multi-cis-acting fragment (MCF). The latter contains five types of regulatory elements (E4, G-box, ABRE motif, box 1 and HVA 1 s), most of which were homologous to the cis-acting regulatory elements involved in the activation of defense genes in plants. Thus, it can be suggested that TIR-specific promoter might be a pathogen-inducible promoter and be necessary for the inducible expression of defense-related genes. Consequently, the number of C1 substitution positions was taken as theoretical descriptors to establish two novel QSPR models for predicting lgKow and -lgSw of all PCDD congeners. The two models achieved in this work contain two variables (Na and Nβ), of which r = 0.9312, 0.9965 and SD = 0.27, 0.12 respectively, and t values are all large. The variation inflation factors (VIF) of variables in the two models herein are both less than 5.0, suggesting high accuracy of the lgKow and -lgSw predicting models, and the results of cross-validation test also show that the two models exhibit optimum stability and good predictive power. By comparison, the correlation and predictive ability of the present work are more advantageous than those obtained using semi-empirical AM1 and GC-RI methods.

文摘[Objective] The study aimed to discuss the spatial changes of negative air ion concentration in Hefei City. [Method] Based on the observation of air ions, temperature, relative humidity, the spatial changes of negative air ion concentration in different districts of Hefei City were ana- lyzed firstly, then the correlation between negative air ion concentration and meteorological factors was discussed. [ Result] Air cleanliness index (CI) of the parks, residential areas, industrial regions, transport stations and prosperous commercial districts was 0.86, 0.53, 0.37, 0.26 and 0.17 respectively, and the latter two regions suffered mild and moderate pollution separately. Daily variations of negative air ion concentration in the residential areas and parks of Hefei City were obvious, showing U shape, that is, the maximum values appeared in the morning and evening, while the minimum values could be found around 14 :(30. There was no distinctly regular variation of negative air ion concentration in the prosperous com- mercial districts, transport stations and industrial areas. In Hefei City, the concentration of negative air ions showed an increasing trend from the ur- ban districts to the suburban districts; it was obviously higher in the residential areas and parks with numerous plants and waters compared with the prosperous commercial districts and transport stations. Negative air ion concentration correlated with relative humidity positively and temperature negatively, so the main meteorological factors influencing the negative air ion concentration in Hefei City were temperature and relative humidity. [ Coedusloa] The research could provide scientific references for city planning and greenbelt construction in future.

文摘With the increasing use of synthetic pyrethroids (SPs), the significance of ecological safety and health risk is an emerging concern, In this study, we evaluated the chronic aquatic toxicity of eis-bifenthrin (cis-BF) in Daphnia magna and its cytotoxicity in Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells as well as human cervical carcinoma (Hela) ceils. Chronic aquatic toxicity tests showed that cis-BF could significantly affect the reproduction of D. magna. The lowest observed effective concentration and the non-observed effective concentration of cis-BF to D. magna were 0.02 and 0.01 μg/L, respectively, and the chronic value was 0.014 μg/L. The intrinsic rate of natural increase was significantly decreased (p 〈 0.05) to 0.02 μg/L. The cytotoxicity assay demonstrated that cis-BF decreased cell viability in CHO and Hela cells in a concentration- and time-dependent manner. The IC50 values for Hela and CHO cells were 4.0 × 10^-5 and 3.2 × 10^-5 mol/L, respectively. Together, these results indicated that cis-BF induced chronic toxicity in both aquatic invertebrate animals and mammalian cells. These findings assist in understanding the impact of SPs on health and environmental safety. Considering the wide spectrum of SPs, a more comprehensive understanding of the negative effects is indispensible for planning future application and regulation of these pesticides.
文摘Through investigating intelligent diagnosis method of Computational Intelligence (CI) and studying its application in fault feature extraction, a gear fault detection and Virtual Instrument Diagnostic System is developed by using the two hybrid programming method which combines both advantages of VC++ and MATLAB. The interface is designed by VC++ and the calculation of test data, signal processing and graphical display are completed by MATLAB. The pro-gram converted from M-file to VC++ is completed by interface software, and a various multi-functional gear fault di-agnosis software system is successfully obtained. The software system, which has many functions including the intro-duction of gear vibration signals, signal processing, graphical display, fault detection and diagnosis, monitoring and so on, especially, the ability of diagnosing gear faults. The method has an important application in the field of mechanical fault diagnosis.

文摘Land eco-sensitivity assessment is an important method in analyzing regional eco-environmental safety. This article is based on the studies of land use and coverage change (LUCC) with the interpretation result from Landsat images. It analyzes the land use degree of Shangluo City and gives the land eco-sensitivity classification, which includes soil and water conservation, disaster prevention and eco-environmental protection. Then an improved classification model is taken through the gray model and the variation coefficient. By comparing sensitivity in each level of land use degree change, the ecological recovery mode in study area is analyzed. The results show: the land use degree in Shangluo City has been declining from 1990 to 2009, with large area converted form cropland to forest, environment becomes better; the sensitivities of zoning based on the index level shows the medium sensitive area was largest. According to the variation coefficient gives the more reasonable proportion, the zoning was improved based on uncertainties. Because of the least amount of land use degradation area was taken in high sensitive region, it is considered that the ecological construction model in study area was still worth discussing. The healthy ecological development mode is proposed that low sensitive region should be protected while high sensitive region should receive high attention, so as to further improve the regional ecological security and improve the living environment efficiently.
文摘A 5' flanking region of the well-conserved Toll/interleukin-1 receptor domain (TIR)-encoding sequence was isolated from the genomic DNA ofMelampsora magnusiana Wagner resistant clones of hybrid triploid poplars [(Populus tomentosa × P. bolleana) × P. tomentosa]. Sequencing results and alignment analysis show that the obtained TIR-specific promoter (named as PtTIRp01) was 1,732 bp in length; moreover 3' region of the PtTIRp01 contains a responds to the 5' composition of TIR-NBS type gene PtDRG02, of 747 bp long 5' region of TIR-NBS type gene PtDRG02 and its 398 bp complete TIR-encoding sequence, which significantly corindicating that the obtained TIR-specific promoter region consists upstream region of promoter (985 bp). It was found that the 5' region of TIR-NBS type gene PtDRG02 was characterized in the downstream region of the transcriptional start, named as 5'-untranslated region (5' UTR), consisting of one 93 bp 5'-untranslation exon, one 213 bp intron and one 441 bp TIR-encoding open reading frame (ORF). In addition, several putative cis-acting motifs were present in the obtained TIR-specific promoter of PtDRG02, including one TATA box, one GC-rich, one AT-rich, one P-box, one 3-AF1 binding site, two CAAT boxes, two GT-1 motifs, three typical W-boxes, four I-boxes, and one multi-cis-acting fragment (MCF). The latter contains five types of regulatory elements (E4, G-box, ABRE motif, box 1 and HVA 1 s), most of which were homologous to the cis-acting regulatory elements involved in the activation of defense genes in plants. Thus, it can be suggested that TIR-specific promoter might be a pathogen-inducible promoter and be necessary for the inducible expression of defense-related genes.
