Perception of Menopausal Symptoms among Educated versus Non Educated Women by Using Menopausal Rating Scale (MRS)

Background: A cross sectional comparative study was conducted in a well populated city named Rawalpindi, which is located in the Northern part of Pakistan. Objectives: This study was aimed to document the comparison of menopausal-related symptoms among educated and non educated women of Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Methods: MRS was used to measure the intensity of menopausal symptoms. 100 educated and 100 uneducated women were selected for study purpose. Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, Military Hospital and Combined Military Hospital were selected as a study setting. Findings: Correlation & Fisher exact test was applied for statistical analysis. The intensity of symptoms reported by Educated women as: sleeping problems (93.0%);heart discomfort (80.0%);hot flushes and sweating (70.0%);joint and muscular pain (52.0);depressive mood (63.0%);irritability (42%);anxiety (60.0%). physical and mental exhaustion;(48.0%);sexual problem (61.0%);dryness of vagina (57.0%);and bladder problem (65.0%). The severity of symptoms in uneducated women;sleeping problems (77.0%);heart discomfort (73.0%);hot flushes (69.0%);joint and muscular pain (66.0);depressive mood (71.0%);irritability (58%);anxiety (80.0%). physical and mental exhaustion (70.0%);sexual problem (66.0%);dryness of vagina (70.0%);and bladder problem (83.0%). Conclusions: Somatic symptoms were high in educated women as compare to uneducated women while the prevalence of psychological and Urogenital symptoms were high in uneducated women as compare to educated women.

Influencing Factors of Long-Term Residence Intention of Highly Educated Inter-Provincial and Intra-Provincial Floating Population From the Perspective of Social Integration:Take Guangdong Province for Example

Floating population plays an important role in the development of cities,regions,and countries.The economic growth path with Guangdong characteristics is inseparable from the support of highly educated groups.Studying the long-term residence intention of the highly educated floating population is helpful for the city to attract and retain talents.From the perspective of social integration,using CMDS 2017 data and taking Guangdong Province for example,this paper studies the influencing factors of long-term residence intention through SPSS logistic regression,taking intra-provincial and inter-provincial floating population with a bachelor’s degree or above as sample.The main conclusions are:(1)Marital and childbearing status is the primitive influencing factor of long-term residence intention among intra-provincial and inter-provincial floating population.Samples with high income,under social insurance system,being female and having non-agricultural hukou,are tend to prefer long-term residence.Samples who connect with the locals and participate in social public welfare are more likely to stay.(2)Personal age and city livability have a significant positive impact on the long-term residence intention of the inter-provincial highly educated floating population,but agricultural hukou and self-employed laborer status will weaken the long-term residence intention of this group.(3)Participation in townsmen/alumni association has a positive effect on the long-term residence intention of the intra-provincial highly educated floating population,and connection with outlanders also promotes the long-term residence intention of this group.(4)The long-term residence intention of inter-provincial highly educated floating population is usually based on reality,therefore they pay more attention to the development,changes,and livability of the destination city.However,the long-term residence intention of intra-provincial highly educated floating population is usually based on perception,so they pay more attention to whether they like the city.Compared with intra-provincial flows,inter-provincial flows have higher economic and emotional migration costs,more institutional barriers,and more life adaptation problems.Therefore,the government should introduce targeted measures to promote social integration and improve long-term residence intention.

Physically literate and physically educated:A rose by any other name?

In the 2013 release of the U.S. National Physical Education Standards the term ＂physically literate＂ replaced ＂physically educated＂. Un- fortunately, most discourse within the profession about the term physically literate occurred primarily after its adoption. While we agree with the spirit and intent of the term, we feel it is essential to discuss not only what has been potentially gained but also lost. In our paper, we illustrate the similarity of the terms physically educated and physically literate and essentially, from a definitional perspective, find little difference--but are these terms interchangeable？ We provide a critical review of the standards and conclude that the change to physical literacy has produced a shift away from psychomotor outcomes to cognitive outcomes. Our concerns about this are many, but most importantly they are about the need to emphasize the ＂physical＂ in physical education （PE）. It is our belief that the key to elevating the profession and maintaining and increasing support for PE is in its ability to promote and provide physical activity. Without physical activity and physical fitness as main outcomes, PE increases its vulnerability to extinction as a standard part of the U.S. K-12 education curriculum.

A systematic review of the impact of master's-educated nurses on inpatient care

Aim:Review the impact of master's-educated nurses on inpatient care in different healthcare systems and specialties.Background:Improved healthcare service quality and efficiency are needed due to a number of factors,including an aging population,advancing medical technology and increasingly complex methods of healthcare delivery.Overcoming these challenges requires nurses with more than a basic nursing education.However,masters training for Chinese nurses is a relatively new development,and,therefore,the cost effectiveness of master's-educated nurses in China and extent to which they contribute to improvements in access to Chinese healthcare services and the quality of those services remains unknown.Method:A systematic review of quantitative studies was conducted using PubMed and the China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI).Studies were included in this review if they met the inclusion criteria.Results:Nine papers met the inclusion criteria and were included in this review.These studies indicated that palliative care,continuity of care,mental health,transition care,post-transplant care and central venous catheter care were improved when patient care was delivered by master's-educated nurses.Conclusion:Developing master's education for nurses may improve the current standard of health care and help meet modern challenges.This topic deserves additional attention at the academic and policy level.This review provides an important reference for Chinese nursing educators and policy makers.

This article reports the results is aimed at analyzing the evolution of the political discourse in Chile on Special Educational Needs,and also analyzes the relationship of speech with major public policy initiatives in terms of legislation,fiscal budget and direct action of the executive.You can see that they allow identifying important changes in the use of the main concepts,emphasis,and discussions associated with the promotion of inclusive education.Furthermore,there is a growing interest in the topic of diversity,both nationally and internationally,which is expressed in increasingly specific public policy initiatives to promote inclusive education.However,gaps and gaps persist between political discourse and policy initiatives,as well as between the approach of public policies in Chile and the state of the art of international discussion on the matter.

Transforming Education with Photogrammetry:Creating Realistic 3D Objects for Augmented Reality Applications

Augmented reality(AR)is an emerging dynamic technology that effectively supports education across different levels.The increased use of mobile devices has an even greater impact.As the demand for AR applications in education continues to increase,educators actively seek innovative and immersive methods to engage students in learning.However,exploring these possibilities also entails identifying and overcoming existing barriers to optimal educational integration.Concurrently,this surge in demand has prompted the identification of specific barriers,one of which is three-dimensional(3D)modeling.Creating 3D objects for augmented reality education applications can be challenging and time-consuming for the educators.To address this,we have developed a pipeline that creates realistic 3D objects from the two-dimensional(2D)photograph.Applications for augmented and virtual reality can then utilize these created 3D objects.We evaluated the proposed pipeline based on the usability of the 3D object and performance metrics.Quantitatively,with 117 respondents,the co-creation team was surveyed with openended questions to evaluate the precision of the 3D object created by the proposed photogrammetry pipeline.We analyzed the survey data using descriptive-analytical methods and found that the proposed pipeline produces 3D models that are positively accurate when compared to real-world objects,with an average mean score above 8.This study adds new knowledge in creating 3D objects for augmented reality applications by using the photogrammetry technique;finally,it discusses potential problems and future research directions for 3D objects in the education sector.

Effect of gamification applications on success of dentistry students

BACKGROUND Gamification,the use of game materials in education,has been used in several scientific fields,and studies have demonstrated its effectiveness in student comprehension.AIM To evaluate whether the success of 4th-and 5th-grade dentistry students increases when using the gamification applications Kahoot!and Mentimeter.METHODS An experimental design was used to measure the effect of gamification applications on students who were taught using the traditional method.For this purpose,Mentimeter and Kahoot!applications were used in this experimental study.Three groups of 4th-and 5th-grade students were formed:Mentimeter,Kahoot!,and control groups.The effect of gamification applications on achievement was evaluated by administering a post-test to these groups after the instructional process.One-way analysis of variance and t-tests were used for statistical analyses.RESULTS A total of 35.5%of the students were in the Mentimeter group,29.8%in the Kahoot!group,and 34.6%in the control group.Of the total number of students,54.8%were female and 45.2%were male,while 52.2%were 5th-grade students and 47.8%were 4th-grade students.The overall grade point average was found to be 66.65(range,24-100).There was a statistically significant difference in average success scores between students of different groups(P=0.003<0.05)and grades(P=0.036<0.05).The average success score was the highest in the Mentimeter group(71.64)and the lowest in the Kahoot!group(62.15).In the control group,this score was 65.41.The average success score was higher for students in the 5thgrade(68.16)and for female students(68.84).CONCLUSION Gamification has a great potential in the education of dentomaxillofacial radiology students.Mentimeter outperformed both the Kahoot!and the traditional method in terms of average student success rates.

Getting physical with medical education:Exercise based virtual anatomy review classes for medical students

The benefits of regular physical activity are well known.Yet,few studies have examined the effectiveness of integrating physical activity(PA)into curricula within a post-secondary setting.To investigate the incorporation of PA into medical curriculum,we developed a series of optional exercise-based review sessions designed to reinforce musculoskeletal(MSK)anatomy course material.These synchronous sessions were co-taught by a group fitness instructor and an anatomy instructor.The fitness instructor would lead students through both strength and yoga style exercises,while the anatomy instructor asked questions about relevant anatomical structures related to course material previously covered.After the sessions,participants were asked to evaluate the classes on their self-reported exam preparedness in improving MSK anatomy knowledge,PA levels,and mental wellbeing.Thirty participants completed surveys;a majority agreed that the classes increased understanding of MSK concepts(90.0%)and activity levels(97.7%).Many(70.0%)felt that the classes helped reduce stress.The majority of respondents(90.0%)agreed that the classes contributed to increased feelings of social connectedness.Overall,medical students saw benefit in PA based interventions to supplement MSK course concepts.Along with increasing activity levels and promoting health behaviours,integrating PA into medical curriculum may improve comprehension of learning material,alleviate stress and foster social connectivity among medical students.

This paper discusses how the literature was created based on the experiences of the ＂Educated Youth＂ in the reform and opening-up era. Evaluating large language models as patient education tools for inflammatory bowel disease:A comparative study

BACKGROUND Inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)is a global health burden that affects millions of individuals worldwide,necessitating extensive patient education.Large language models(LLMs)hold promise for addressing patient information needs.However,LLM use to deliver accurate and comprehensible IBD-related medical information has yet to be thoroughly investigated.AIM To assess the utility of three LLMs(ChatGPT-4.0,Claude-3-Opus,and Gemini-1.5-Pro)as a reference point for patients with IBD.METHODS In this comparative study,two gastroenterology experts generated 15 IBD-related questions that reflected common patient concerns.These questions were used to evaluate the performance of the three LLMs.The answers provided by each model were independently assessed by three IBD-related medical experts using a Likert scale focusing on accuracy,comprehensibility,and correlation.Simultaneously,three patients were invited to evaluate the comprehensibility of their answers.Finally,a readability assessment was performed.RESULTS Overall,each of the LLMs achieved satisfactory levels of accuracy,comprehensibility,and completeness when answering IBD-related questions,although their performance varies.All of the investigated models demonstrated strengths in providing basic disease information such as IBD definition as well as its common symptoms and diagnostic methods.Nevertheless,when dealing with more complex medical advice,such as medication side effects,dietary adjustments,and complication risks,the quality of answers was inconsistent between the LLMs.Notably,Claude-3-Opus generated answers with better readability than the other two models.CONCLUSION LLMs have the potential as educational tools for patients with IBD;however,there are discrepancies between the models.Further optimization and the development of specialized models are necessary to ensure the accuracy and safety of the information provided.

Nursing interventions based on Snyder’s hope theory for depression following percutaneous coronary interventions:A clinical study

BACKGROUND Patients with depression following coronary heart disease often exhibit insufficient psychological resilience and self-care abilities;therefore,emphasis must be placed on nursing interventions.AIM To analyze the application value of problem-oriented education combined with nursing interventions based on the Snyder hope theory model in depressed patients after percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI).METHODS This study included 150 patients diagnosed with PCI postoperative depression because of coronary heart disease between February 2022 and February 2024.Participants were divided into two groups:A control group(n=75)receiving problem-oriented education and an observation group(n=75)receiving combined nursing interventions based on the Snyder hope theory model.Depression status,psychological resilience,self-care ability,and quality of life were compared between the two groups.RESULTS Before nursing interventions,there were no significant differences between the two groups(P>0.05).After the interventions,depression scores decreased while psychological resilience,self-care ability,and quality of life scores increased significantly in the observation group compared to that in the control group,with statistically significant differences noted(P<0.05).This combined approach can enhance psychological resilience,improve self-care abilities,and elevate the overall quality of life,warranting further promotion in clinical practice.CONCLUSION Combination of problem-oriented education and nursing interventions based on the Snyder hope theory model effectively alleviates depression in patients following PCI for coronary heart disease.

Neuro-oncology,with its various conservative,surgical,and interventional disciplines,is ideally suited to teach basic knowledge,skills,and attitudes important to medical practice in general.However,training is less about teaching specific treatment protocols and more about fostering skills for interdisciplinary collaboration,development of treatment recommendations,communication skills,and an ethical stance.To adequately teach this content,new and innovative formats are needed to test and learn high levels of student interaction,communication,and collaboration.New teaching concepts such as inverted teaching formats as well as the use of modern media technology can be helpful to improve networking between disciplines and to improve the quality of medical education.
