Objective:To systematically evaluate the effect of Xuesaitong injection combined with edaravone injection on hemorheology indexes in patients with acute cerebral infarction.Methods:Search CNKI,WanFang,VIP,SinoMed,PubMed,Cochrane Library and other databases,collect randomized controlled trials(RCTs)of Xuesaitong combined with edaravone in the treatment of acute cerebral infarction from the establishment of the database to November 2020,using RevMan 5.3 software Perform Meta analysis.Results:10 RCTs were included,with a total of 834 patients,417 in the experimental group and 417 in the control group.The results of Meta analysis showed that the experimental group was better than the control group in improving the whole plasma viscosity(MD=-0.73,95%CI[-0.83,-0.63],P<0.00001);in terms of improving the thrombosis coefficient,the test group is better than the control group(MD=-0.19,95%CI[-0.22,-0.15],P<0.00001);In terms of platelet aggregation rate,the test group was better than the control group(MD=-0.21,95%CI[-0.25,-0.17],P<0.00001).GRADE systematically evaluates whole plasma viscosity,thrombosis coefficient,and platelet aggregation rate,showing that the level of evidence is low or very low,and the strength of the recommendation is weak.Conclusion:Xuesaitong injection combined with edaravone injection has relatively satisfactory results in improving hemorheology indexes in patients with acute cerebral infarction,and there is no obvious safety problem.However,due to the small number of included studies and the total sample size,and the limitation of the quality of the included original studies,the results of this study need to be designed with strict,high-quality,large-sample,multi-center,and more internationally recognized clinical outcome indicators and efficacy experiments to verify,in order to obtain stronger evidence-based medicine. 展开更多

To investigate the mechanism of severe myocardial contusion in rabbits. Methods: A total of 32 New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into 2 groups, the severe myocardial contusion group (the experimental group, n=16) and the sham-impact control group (the control group, n=16). Hemorheological parameters, interleukin-8 (IL-8) in serum, the water contents of myocardium and polymorphonuclear neutrophil (PMN) infiltration in contused myocardium were observed at 24 hours after the experiment. Results: As compared with the control group, the hemorheological parameters in the experimental group including the whole blood viscosity (ηb), erythrocyte aggregation index (EAI), hematocrit (HCT), serum fibrinogen (Fib), Casson viscosity (Γy) and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), significantly increased. The IL-8, PMN infiltration and the water contents of the contused myocardium also significantly increased. Conclusions: It suggests that the hemorheological disorder, increase of IL-8 in serum, and PMN infiltration in contused myocardium may contribute to the development of cardiac edema and secondary myocardial damage following severe myocardial contusion in rabbits. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Early diabetic nephropathy(DN)is a complication of diabetes mellitus.It mainly affects kidney microvessels and glomerular function,and its timely and effective treatment is critical for early DN.However,the effects of treatments comprising simple Western medicine are not optimal.With the promotion and implementation of integrated Chinese and western medicine treatments,remarkable results have been achieved for many diseases.To this end,we explored the clinical efficacy of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicines for the treatment of early DN.AIM To investigate the effect of sitagliptin tablets combined with Yiqi yangyin huoxue decoction on clinical efficacy and hemorheology in patients with early DN.METHODS Through a retrospective analysis,123 patients with early DN were admitted to the endocrinology clinic of the Changzhou NO.7 People’s Hospital from January 2021 to October 2022 and were selected as study subjects.After rigorous screening,100 patients with early DN were enrolled.The control group(CG,n=50)and the observation group(OG,n=50)were divided according to the treatment method.The CG were treated with sitagliptin,and the OG were treated with sitagliptin plus the Yiqi yangyin huoxue decoction.Both groups were treated for 3 mo.For both groups,the baseline data and clinical efficacy were compared,and changes in blood glucose levels,lipid levels,renal function,and hematological indicators before(T0)and after(T1)treatment were assessed.RESULTS The total effective rate for the OG was 94.00%and that of the CG was 80.00%(P<0.05).After treatment(T1),the levels of fasting blood glucose,2 h postprandial glucose,total cholesterol,triacylglycerol,and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol in OG patients were obviously lower than those in the CG(P<0.05),and cystatin C,homocysteine,urinary microalbumin,and blood creatinine values in OG patients were also obviously lower than those in the CG(P<0.05);erythrocyte deposition,plasma viscosity,whole blood high shear viscosity,and whole blood low shear viscosity were markedly lower in OG patients than in the CG(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Sitagliptin combined with Yiqi yangyin huoxue decoction has a remarkable effect when used to treat patients with early DN.Further,it is helpful in improving hemorheological indices and controlling disease progression. 展开更多

Results show that blood viscosity, plasma viscosity, fibrinogen, erythrocyte deformability index, erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR), ESR -K and erythrocyte electrophoresis time are obviously increased, while hematocrit is significantly lower than that of control groups. BACKGROUND: Acupuncture-induced oxygen therapy combines acupoint theory in traditional Chinese medicine and modern oxygen therapy. Clinical studies have shown that acupuncture-induced oxygen therapy results in favorable outcomes for brain injury. However, the mechanisms of action remain poorly understood. OBJECTIVE: To determine pathological changes and malondialdehyde (MDA) content, superoxide dismutase (SOD) and nitric oxide synthase (NOS) activity, as well as hemorheological brain alterations following acupuncture-induced oxygen therapy, and to explore possible mechanisms of acupuncture-induced oxygen therapy on brain injury. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: A randomized, controlled, animal experiment was performed at the Animal Experimental Center of Xi'an Medical University from January 2006 to April 2009. MATERIALS: An oxygen delivery device, through the use of acupuncture (oxygen delivery machine + silver hollowed needle, 0.5 mm inner diameter), was purchased from Research Center ol Machine, Shaanxi University of Science and Technology in China. METHODS: A total of 180 Sprague Dawley rats were randomly assigned to six groups (n = 30): normal, sham-surgery (dura mater exposure), model (brain injury induced by free-falling of heavy object to head), Xiantaimixture (0.417 mL/100 g following brain injury), electroacupuncture [acupuncture at Baihui (DU 20), Housanfi (ST 36), Yanglingquan (GB 34), and Sanyinjiao (SP 6) following brain injury], and acupuncture-induced oxygen therapy (oxygen delivery through hollowed needle to Baihui (DU 20), Housanfi (ST 36), Yanglingquan (GB 34), and Sanyinjiao (SP 6) following brain injury, 0.01 mL/minute). Group intervention was performed once a day for 14 consecutive days. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Pathological changes, MDA content, SOD and NOS activity, and hemorheological alterations in the brain. RESULTS: Obvious pathological changes were observed, such as hemorrhage, edema, and cell necrosis, following brain injury. These alterations were significantly improved following 14 days of treatment with Xiantai mixture, electroacupuncture, and acupuncture-induced oxygen therapy. In particular, acupuncture-induced oxygen therapy resulted in recovery to normal conditions. In the Xiantai mixture, electroacupuncture, and acupuncture-induced oxygen therapy groups, MDA content was significantly reduced (P 〈 0.01), SOD activity was significantly increased (P 〈 0.01), NOS activity was significantly decreased (P 〈 0.01), and hemorheological indices were reduced, compared with the model group, in particular, acupunture-induced oxygen therapy resulted in the most obvious changes (P 〈 0.01). CONCLUSION: Acupuncture-induced oxygen therapy improved pathological changes following brain injury by possibly improving blood supply, ameliorating ischemia/hypoxia, and inhibiting peroxidation and free radicals. 展开更多

One of the essential components of this metal complex is an extract from a traditional Chinese medicinal herb. Methods:①Xathine- Xathine oxidase-luminol chemiluminescence (CL)was applied to detect SOD-like activity of PTC. ②Effects of SOD and its mimic (PTC) on the free radical-mediated change of blood viscosity and zymosan-activated leukocytic chemiluminescence, as well as the prptectove effects of PTC on oxiditive damage after burn were observed. Results: ①PTC has a significantly high SOD-like activity with an [ID]50 of 150 μg/L (SOD-300 μg/L). ②PTC can significantly inhibit zymosan-activated leukocytic chemiluminescence.③PTC can lower phagocyte-dependent increase in blood viscosity and inhibit the lipid peroxidation in blood. ④PTC can alleviate secondary oxygen free radical injury after burn. Conclusion:PTC is a significantly effective O2- free radical scanvenger. It can be applied to treat diseases resulting from abnormality of active oxygen free radical reaction in the body. 展开更多

OBJECTIVE:This meta-analysis was performed to systematically assess the efficacy and safety of the Chinese herbal medicine Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu Decoction(HGWWD) for treating diabetic peripheral neuropathy.DATA SOURCES:Six electronic databases,including the Cochrane Library,MEDLINE database,Chinese Biomedical Database,Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure Database,Chinese Science and Technique Journals Database,and the Wanfang Database,were search ed on the internet for randomized controlled trials published up until 1 December 2015.The search terms included "Chinese herbal medicine","diabetic peripheral neuropathy" and "randomized controlled trials" in Chinese and in English.DATA SELECTION:We included randomized controlled trials using HGWWD/modified HGWWD for the treatment group,without restriction for the control group.We assessed literature quality in accordance with the Cochrane Review Handbook.A random or a fixed effects model was used to analyze outcomes using Rev Man 5.2 software.OUTCOME MEASURES:The primary outcomes were changes in symptoms and nerve conduction velocities.The secondary outcomeswere fasting blood glucose and hemorheological indexes.RESULTS:Sixteen randomized controlled trials,with a total of 1,173 patients,were included.Meta-analysis revealed that the efficacy of HGWWD for diabetic peripheral neuropathy was significantly superior compared with the control treatment(i.e.,control group)(risk ratio = 0.36,95% confidence interval(CI):0.29–0.46,Z =8.33,P 〈 0.00001) Compared with the control group,there was an increase in median motor nerve conduction velocity(mean difference(MD) = 3.46,95%CI:1.88–5.04,Z = 4.30,P 〈 0.01) and median sensory nerve conduction velocity(MD = 3.30,95%CI:2.04–4.56,Z = 5.14,P 〈 0.01).There was also an increase in peroneal motor nerve conduction velocity(MD = 3.22,95%CI:2.45–3.98,Z = 8.21,P 〈 0.01) and peroneal sensory nerve conduction velocity(MD = 3.05,95%CI:2.01–4.09,Z = 5.75,P 〈 0.01) in the treatment groups.No significant difference in fasting blood glucose was found between the treatment groups and the control groups(MD =-0.12,95%CI:-0.42–0.19,Z = 0.76,P = 0.45).Plasma viscosity was significantly decreased after treatment(MD =-0.11,95%CI:-0.21 to-0.02,Z = 2.30,P = 0.02).No significant difference in fibrinogen was detectable(MD =-0.53,95%CI:-1.28–0.22,Z = 1.38,P = 0.17).Four trials reported that treatment groups experienced no adverse reactions.Adverse events were not mentioned in the other 12 trials.No trial reported the incidence of complications,quality of life outcomes,or health economics.CONCLUSION:HGWWD treatment improves diabetic neurologic symptoms and ameliorates nerve conduction velocities.Our study suggests that HGWWD may have significant therapeutic efficacy for the treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy.However,the methodological quality of the randomized controlled trials was generally low.Larger and better-designed randomized controlled trials are required to more reliably assess the clinical effectiveness of HGWWD. 展开更多

The antithrombotic and antiplatelet effects of two fucoidan fractions with low molecular weight and different sulfate content from Laminaria japonica were compared in order to examine the influence of chemical character on their antithrombotic activity and the possible mechanism. Both LMW fucoidan fractions exhibited favorable antithrombotic activity in an Fecl3-induced arterial thrombosis. The antithrombotic activity of LMW fucoidan was related with decrease of TXB2 and whole blood viscosity and hematocrit. LMW fucoidan showed a correlation between anticoagulant, antiaggregant and antithrombotic effects in vivo. For LMW fucoidan, antithrombotic activity required high dose of 5-10 nmol kg-1, concomitantly with increase in anticoagulant activity and inhibition of platelet aggregation. Administration of LMW fucoidan significantly promoted the 6-keto-PGF1α content and decreased the TXB2 content, indicating its inhibition of tissue factor pathway and regulation of metabolism of arachidonic acid. By comparison, highly sulfated fucoidan LF2 with Mw 3900 seemed to be a more suitable choice for antithrombotic drug for its antithrombotic activity accompanied with specific inhibitory activity on platelet aggregation, low anticoagulant activity and low hemorrhagic risk in vivo. 展开更多

Summary: To evaluate the protective effect of puerarin on ischemic myocardium in dogs with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and to reveal its possible mechanism, 10 dogs were randomly divided into puerarin group (group G) and control group (group C). AMI model was established in all dogs. Puerarin or saline was administered over a period of 21 days. Coronary angiography was performed before and after ligation of coronary artery. Eight hemorheological parameters were examined before and 22 days after the operation. The infarct area and vessel density of myocardium were assessed. The infarct area in group G was smaller than that in group C. Angiography 2 h and 22 d after ligation of coronary artery revealed significant augmentation of collateral vessels in group G as compared with control group. The platelet aggregation and the blood viscosity were in- creased during AMI when compared with control phase, and the increased indexes during AMI would be inhibited when puerarin were given. Capillaries and distribution vessel density in is- chemic zone on day 22 showed statistically significant augmentation in group G as compared with control group. Puerarin might improve the opening and formation of coronary collateral circula- tion, and might inhibit the increase of platelet aggregation and the blood viscosity during AMI, and thereby improve microcirculation and restrict myocardial infarct area. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Obstetric hemorrhage is the leading cause of maternal mortality globally,especially in China.The key to a successful rescue is immediate and rapid blood transfusion.Autotransfusion has become an integral part of clinical blood transfusion,with intraoperative cell salvage(IOCS)being the most widely used.AIM To investigate the application of IOCS in cesarean section.METHODS A total of 87 patients who underwent cesarean section and blood transfusion in our hospital from March 2015 to June 2020 were included in this prospective controlled study.They were divided into the observation(43 cases)and control(44 cases)groups using the random number table method.The patients in both groups underwent lower-segment cesarean section.The patients in the control group were treated with traditional allogeneic blood transfusion,whereas those in the observation group were treated with IOCS.Hemorheology[Red blood cell count,platelet volume,and fibrinogen(FIB)]and coagulation function(partial prothrombin time,prothrombin time(PT),platelet count,and activated coagulation time)were measured before and 24 h after transfusion.In the two groups,adverse reactions,such as choking and dyspnea,within 2 h after cesarean section were observed.RESULTS Before and after transfusion,no significant differences in hemorheology and coagulation function indices between the two groups were observed(P>0.05).About 24 h after transfusion,the erythrocyte count,platelet ratio,and FIB value significantly decreased in the two groups(P<0.05);the PLT value significantly decreased in the two groups;the activated partial thromboplastin time,PT,and activated clotting time significantly increased in the two groups(P<0.05);and no statistical differences were observed in hemorheology and coagulation function indices between the two groups(P>0.05).Furthermore,there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).CONCLUSION In patients undergoing cesarean section,intraoperative cell salvage has a minimum effect on hemorheology and coagulation function and does not increase the risk of amniotic fluid embolism. 展开更多

Cerebralcare Granule(CG) improves cerebral microcirculation and relieves vasospasm,but studies investigating its therapeutic effect on cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury are lacking.In the present study,we administered CG(0.3,0.1 and 0.03 g/m L intragastrically) to rats for 7 consecutive days.We then performed transient occlusion of the middle cerebral artery,followed by reperfusion,and administered CG daily for a further 3 or 7 days.Compared with no treatment,high-dose CG markedly improved neurological function assessed using the Bederson and Garcia scales.At 3 days,animals in the high-dose CG group had smaller infarct volumes,greater interleukin-10 expression,and fewer interleukin-1β-immunoreactive cells than those in the untreated model group.Furthermore,at 7 days,high-dose CG-treated rats had more vascular endothelial growth factor-immunoreactive cells,elevated angiopoietin-1 and vascular endothelial growth factor expression,and improved blood coagulation and flow indices compared with untreated model animals.These results suggest that CG exerts specific neuroprotective effects against cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury. 展开更多

Objective: To explore the pathogenesis of avascular necrosis of femoral head (ANFH), the early diagnosis index and the treatment effective index of ANFH in clinical practice. Methods: Twenty-four Japanese rabbits were divided into 2 groups: model group and control group. ANFH models were produced by intramuscular injection of large dosage of steroid to rabbits for 8 weeks. On the 4 th, 8 th week after the injection, two rabbits each time from each group were taken to observe the structure of femoral head by light microscope and scanning electron microscope. Four other stomach-empty rabbits from each group were also used to test the contents of Nitric Oxide (NO), contents of the hemorheology indexes. Results: Compared with the control group, the rabbits in the model group exhibited osteoporosis of femoral head and more bone lacuna and more fat cells through light microscope. Through scanning electron microscope observation bone trabecula were broken and sunk, and collagen fibers on the surface of bone matrix became loosen and broken, more osteocyte had pyknosis, adipocyte in the medullary cavity were enlarged and subchondral arterioles and capillaries of the femoral head were pressed by adipocyte. Compared with the control group, the model rabbits contained less NO and obvious increase of the plasma viscosity (PV), low blood viscosity (LBV), erythrocyte hematocrit (HCT), indices of erythrocyte rigidity (TK) and indices of erythrocyte aggregation (AI), plasma fibrin level (PFL) (P<0. 01) and an increase of erythrocyte electrophoresis rate (ERT) (P< 0.05). High blood viscosity (HBV), and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) were unchanged. Conclusion: The steroid-induced ANFH might be related to less NO and the abnormal hemorheology; and NO and hemorheology should be considered as an early diagnosis index for ANFH in clinical practice. 展开更多

Objective:To explore the effect of Guhong injection combined with atorvastatin on CHD patients with angina pectoris and its influence on hemorheology and oxidative stress.Methods:80 CHD patients with angina pectoris admitted to our hospital from December 2018 to December 2019 were randomly divided into the observation group(40 cases)and the control group(40 cases)by use of the random number table.The patients in the control group were treated with atorvastatin,while those in the observation group were treated with Guhong injection on the basis of the control group.The course of treatment was 2 weeks for each group.The treatment effect,the frequency of angina pectoris seizure and its duration before and after treatment,the changes of hemorheology indexes and oxidative stress and the occurrence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results:the total effective rate of the observation group(92.50%)was higher than that of the control group(70.00%)(p<.05).The frequency of angina pectoris seizure and its duration in these two groups after treatment were lower than those before treatment(Observation group:t=25.588,23.009;Control group:t=16.587,16.263;p<.05);After treatment,the frequency of angina pectoris seizure and its duration in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(t=15.191,9.425;p<.05).In the observation group,the hemorheology indexes after treatment were lower than those before treatment(t=6.742,15.224,6.983,23.537,p<.05);the hemorheology indexes after treatment in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(t=5.201,13.913,5.539,13.745;p<.05).In the observation group,the level of serum SOD after treatment was higher than that before treatment,while the levels of LPO and MDA after treatment were lower than those before treatment(t=10.839,6.924,8.466;p<.05);the level of serum SOD after treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group,while the levels of LPO and MDA after treatment in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(t=6.171,6.432,5.394;p<.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(p<.05).Conclusions:Guhong injection combined with atorvastatin has an obvious clinical effect on CHD patients with angina pectoris,and it can improve hemorheology indexes and oxidative stress reaction with fewer adverse reactions. 展开更多

Objective:To explore the effect of nifedipine in combined with magnesium sulfate on the hemorheology and coagulation indicators in patients with gestational hypertension.Methods:A total of 90 patients with gestational hypertension were included in the study and randomized into the observation group and the control group with 45 cases in each group. The patients in the observation group were given magnesium sulfate in combined with nifedipine, while the patients in the control group were only given magnesium sulfate. The patients in the two groups were continuously treated for 2 weeks. The blood pressure, hemorheology indicators, and coagulation indicators before and after treatment in the two groups were detected and compared.Results: SBP, DBP, whole blood high, moderate, and low shear viscosity, plasma viscosity, and HCT after treatment in the two groups were significantly reduced when compared with before treatment (P<0.05). The levels of the above indicators after treatment in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). PT, APTT, and TT after treatment in the two groups were significantly elevated when compared with before treatment (P<0.05), while Fib was significantly reduced (P<0.05). PT, APTT, and TT after treatment in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05), while Fib was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusions:Nifedipine in combined with magnesium sulfate can significantly stabilize the blood pressure level in patients with gestational hypertension, and improve the hemodynamic and coagulation indicators, with a significant efficacy. 展开更多
