Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and type 2 diabetes are common comorbidities or target organ damage,which can lead to adverse metabolism and increased risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.In the manag...Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and type 2 diabetes are common comorbidities or target organ damage,which can lead to adverse metabolism and increased risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.In the management plan of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and type 2 diabetes,there is no drug with significant efficacy or both.The dialectical idea of traditional Chinese medicine has a good curative effect and significant advantages in treating metabolic disorders.The author now reviewed a case of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis combined with type 2 diabetes.In this case,the method of invigorating the spleen and eliminating turbidity was effective,which effectively prevented the progression of liver disease in the patient,and T2DM was alleviated by maintaining within the standard range after the use of insulin was stopped.It can be said that“killing two birds with one stone”,more fully reflects the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine in the integrated treatment of metabolic-related diseases.展开更多
Algae and suspended colloidal particles produced high turbidity in water,weakened water purification,and threatened the safety of the water supply.In this study,a series of composite coagulants(atp-st-CTA)composed of ...Algae and suspended colloidal particles produced high turbidity in water,weakened water purification,and threatened the safety of the water supply.In this study,a series of composite coagulants(atp-st-CTA)composed of a cationic starch(st-CTA)and attapulgite(ATP)with different fed mass ratios were fabricated by a simple method to coagulate kaolin suspension with initial turbidity of 80.0 NTU and Chlorella suspension with 0.25 mg/L of chlorophyll a(chla),respectively.Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy investigated the structural characteristics of atp-st-CTA.The maximum turbidity and chla removal rates of atp-st-CTA were 92.2%and 100.0%,respectively,at natural pH conditions.The effects of the fed mass ratio of st-CTA to ATP in the composites,dose,pH,and coexisting humic acid on the coagulation performance of atp-st-CTA were comprehensively investigated.Based on the apparent coagulation behaviors,the zeta potentials of the supernatants after coagulation,and the flocs properties,the coagulation mechanisms of atp-st-CTA were discussed in detail.The complete charge neutralization due to st-CTA and the enhanced sedimentation by ATP synergistically removed turbidity and algae from the water efficiently.In short,atp-st-CTA as a talented material has a notable prospect in applications of water treatment owing to its advantages of environmental friendliness,low cost,and high efficiency.展开更多

The relation between the optimum coagulation pH range and Fe/SiO\-2 molar ratio was found and the coagulation mechanism of PFSS was discussed.The experimental results showed that Fe/SiO\-2 molar ratio has an effect on the zeta potential of hydrolyzate, the coagulation performance and the optimum coagulation pH range of PFSS and that PFSS gives the best turbidity removal effect when its Fe/SiO\-2 molar ratio was 1.5.展开更多

In general, the process consists of many units as settling, coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration and disinfection. The optimization of the process consists of some measures to decrease the managing and monitoring expenses and improve the quality of the produced water. The objective of this study is to provide water treatment operators with methods and practices that enable to attain the most effective use of the facility and in consequence optimize the cubic meter price of the treated water. This paper proposes a review on optimization of drinking water treatment process by analyzing all of the water treatment units and gives some solutions in order to maximize the water treatment performances without compromising the water quality standards. Some practical solutions and methods are performed in the water treatment plant located in the middle of Morocco (Meknes).展开更多
