Error Analysis of English Pronunciation Acquisition by Chinese Non-English Majors

Chinese non-English majors are a large group of English learners.In the process of English pronunciation acquisition,issues such as incomplete phonological knowledge,transfer of mother tongue,and overgeneralization,lead to confusion of phonemes and stress,misunderstanding of syllable structure,and errors of assimilation,drop,and epenthesis.The accuracy of English pronunciation can only be improved by knowing both English and Chinese phonological systems,strengthening the teaching of English phonological knowledge,and adopting various phonological training activities.

Error Analysis of A New Higher Order Boundary Element Method for A Uniform Flow Passing Cylinders

A higher order boundary element method(HOBEM)is presented for inviscid flow passing cylinders in bounded or unbounded domain.The traditional boundary integral equation is established with respect to the velocity potential and its normal derivative.In present work,a new integral equation is derived for the tangential velocity.The boundary is discretized into higher order elements to ensure the continuity of slope at the element nodes.The velocity potential is also expanded with higher order shape functions,in which the unknown coefficients involve the tangential velocity.The expansion then ensures the continuities of the velocity and the slope of the boundary at element nodes.Through extensive comparison of the results for the analytical solution of cylinders,it is shown that the present HOBEM is much more accurate than the conventional BEM.

A Brief Study of Second Language Learning Strategies From the Perspective of Error Analysis

Language teaching is not a one-way process.It interacts with language learning in an extremely intricate way.To improve language teaching,we need to take the process of language learning into account.This paper tries to explore and understand what strategies the second language learners consciously or subconsciously adopt during their language learning process through the analyses of the linguistic errors they commit,so as to provide some insights into language teaching practice.

Error Analysis and Error Correction in English Learning

As a field in applied linguistics, error analysis is not only an instrument for language acquisition research but also an auxiliary tool for language teaching. It plays a significant role both in exploring the learning rules and improving the teaching of foreign languages. With this information, teachers could adjust their teaching plan and make their teaching more effective. In this paper I present some common errors that my students make in their learning process. Based on these, a further elaboration on how to correct errors, including the attitudes to them, the integrative principles, the concrete methods and techniques for error correction is discussed as well.

Error Analysis of FLC Experimental Data at Warm/Hot Stamping Conditions

Forming limit curves（FLCs） are commonly used for evaluating the formability of sheet metals. However, it is difficult to obtain the FLCs with desirable accuracy by experiments due to that the friction effects are non-negligible under warm/hot stamping conditions. To investigate the experimental errors, experiments for obtaining the FLCs of the AA5754 are conducted at 250℃. Then, FE models are created and validated on the basis of experimental results. A number of FE simulations are carried out for FLC test-pieces and punches with different geometry configurations and varying friction coefficients between the test-piece and the punch. The errors for all the test conditions are predicted and analyzed. Particular attention of error analysis is paid to two special cases, namely, the biaxial FLC test and the uniaxial FLC test. The failure location and the variation of the error with respect to the friction coefficient are studied as well. The results obtained from the FLC tests and the above analyses show that, for the biaxial tension state, the friction coefficient should be controlled within 0.15 to avoid significant shifting of the necking location away from the center of the punch; for the uniaxial tension state, the friction coefficient should be controlled within 0.1 to guarantee the validity of the data collected from FLC tests. The conclusions summarized are beneficial for obtaining accurate FLCs under warm/hot stamping conditions.

Convergence ball and error analysis of Ostrowski-Traub’s method

Under the hypotheses that the second-order and third-order derivatives of a function are bounded, an estimate of the radius of the convergence ball of Ostrowski-Traub＇s method is obtained. An error analysis is given which matches the convergence order of the method. Finally, two examples are provided to show applications of our theorem.

Attractive Multistep Reproducing Kernel Approach for Solving Stiffness Differential Systems of Ordinary Differential Equations and Some Error Analysis

In this paper,an efficient multi-step scheme is presented based on reproducing kernel Hilbert space(RKHS)theory for solving ordinary stiff differential systems.The solution methodology depends on reproducing kernel functions to obtain analytic solutions in a uniform formfor a rapidly convergent series in the posed Sobolev space.Using the Gram-Schmidt orthogonality process,complete orthogonal essential functions are obtained in a compact field to encompass Fourier series expansion with the help of kernel properties reproduction.Consequently,by applying the standard RKHS method to each subinterval,approximate solutions that converge uniformly to the exact solutions are obtained.For this purpose,several numerical examples are tested to show proposed algorithm’s superiority,simplicity,and efficiency.The gained results indicate that themulti-step RKHSmethod is suitable for solving linear and nonlinear stiffness systems over an extensive duration and giving highly accurate outcomes.

NOVEL METHOD FOR ERROR ANALYSIS AND SELF-CALIBRATION OF LASER TRACKING MIRROR MECHANISM

Laser tracking system （LTS） is an advanced device for large size 3D coordinates measuring with the advantages of broad range, high speed and high accuracy. However, its measuring accuracy is highly dominated by the geometric errors of the tracking mirror mechanism. Proper calibration of LTS is essential prior to the use of it for metrology. A kinematics model that describes not only the motion but also the geometric variations of LTS is developed. Through error analysis of the proposed model, it is claimed that gimbals axis misalignments and tracking mirror center off-set are the key contributors to measuring errors of LTS. A self-calibration method is presented of calibrating LTS with planar constraints. Various calibration strategies utilizing single-plane and multiple-plane constraints are proposed for different situations. For each calibration strategy, issues about the error parameter estimation of LTS are exploded to find out in which conditions these parameters can be uniquely estimated. Moreover, these conditions reveal the applicability of the planar constraints to LTS self-calibration. Intensive studies have been made to check validity of the theoretical results. The results show that the measuring accuracy of LTS has increased by 5 times since this technique for calibration is used.

Error Analysis in Frequency Domain for Linear Multipass Algorithms

Error analysis methods in frequency domain are developed in this paper for determining the characteristic root and transfer function errors when the linear multipass algorithms are used to solve linear differential equations. The relation between the local truncation error in time domain and the error in frequency domain is established, which is the basis for developing the error estimation methods. The error estimation methods for the digital simulation model constructed by using the Runge-Kutta algorithms and the linear multistep predictor-corrector algorithms are also given.

A Survey of Error Analysis and Calibration Methods for MEMS Triaxial Accelerometers

MEMS accelerometers are widely used in various fields due to their small size and low cost,and have good application prospects.However,the low accuracy limits its range of applications.To ensure data accuracy and safety we need to calibrate MEMS accelerometers.Many authors have improved accelerometer accuracy by calculating calibration parameters,and a large number of published calibration methods have been confusing.In this context,this paper introduces these techniques and methods,analyzes and summarizes the main error models and calibration procedures,and provides useful suggestions.Finally,the content of the accelerometer calibration method needs to be overcome.

In-situ strain measurement and error analysis of arc welding with 2D digital image correlation

The deformation and residual stress generated by the welding process can seriously affect the use of components.As a result,it is very important to understand the evolution of stress and strain during the welding process.The strain measurement method based on digital image correlation(DIC)is an excellent method to detect welding strain and residual stress.The out-of-plane translation and out-of-plane rotation introduce errors to the two-dimensional DIC.In this paper,the causes of errors are analyzed theoretically,and the formulas of errors caused by the out-of-plane displacement and the out-of-plane rotation are derived.The out-of-plane translation experiment and the out-of-plane rotation experiment were carried out to verify the theory,and the experimental results are consistent with the theoretical analysis results.The error caused by the out-of-plane translation can be reduced by increasing the object distance;the error caused by the out-of-plane rotation is greatly affected by the rotation angle.

Data processing and error analysis for the CE-1 Lunar microwave radiometer

The microwave radiometer （MRM） onboard the Chang＇ E-1 （CE-I） lu- nar orbiter is a 4-frequency microwave radiometer, and it is mainly used to obtain the brightness temperature （TB） of the lunar surface, from which the thickness, temperature, dielectric constant and other related properties of the lunar regolith can be derived. The working mode of the CE-1 MRM, the ground calibration （including the official calibration coefficients）, as well as the acquisition and processing of the raw data are introduced. Our data analysis shows that TB increases with increasing frequency, decreases towards the lunar poles and is significantly affected by solar illumination. Our analysis also reveals that the main uncertainty in TB comes from ground calibration.

The Discussion of the Results of an Experimental Study on Meta-Cognitive Strategy with the Perspective of Error Analysis in Listening Training

Though abundant work has been done in both meta-cognitive strategy and error analysis, very little has been done in the exact execution model of applying meta-cognitive strategy with the perspective of error analysis. This study, presuming the construction of an integrative execution model of meta-cognitive strategy with the perspective view of error analysis, focuses on the results and discussion.

Error Analysis of CET-4 Translation Produced by Vocational & Techni⁃ cal College Students and the Backwash Effect of English Teaching

CET-4 is a national standardized English proficiency test designed and developed by the National College English Ex⁃amination Committee.The purpose of the test is to accurately measure the comprehensive English application ability of college stu⁃dents in China.The more important the test,the more obvious its backwash effect.With the increase of the proportion of subjective questions in CET-4,teachers should pay more attention to the transfer of skills and correct English expression while teaching the basic knowledge of English.In particular,the students in vocational and technical colleges are weak in English abilities,and their errors in translation are even more numerous and varied.Therefore,this study will analyze the translation errors produced by 200 vocational and technical college students in CET-4 of June 2019.By interviewing and investigating the students’actual situation of English learning,tips and proposals on backwash effect on teaching can be achieved.

KINEMATICS AND ERROR ANALYSIS FOR MULTIBODY SYSTEM

In this paper, a new concept, i.e. Generalized Jacobian Matrix of MBS (abbreviation for multibody system) is presented which unifies three concepts of different realms, Partial (angular) velocity in MBS, first order effect coefficient in mechanism, Jacobian Matrix in robotics. This new concept not only enriches and developes kinematics of MBS and makes kinematics theory of MBS concise and being a formal way. but also becomes a new way to kinematic analysis of spatial mechanisms. It is also enlarged the paper that the usage of kinematics of MBS, the identical relationship between kinematics of MBS and error analysis of MBS is revealed.

Error Analysis - Types and Causes of Errors in English Writing among Chinese Students

This article analyzes errors with regard to the types and causes of errors commonly committed by Chinese EFL(English as a foreign language)learners.It covers the concepts and theories concerning error analysis,synthesizes previous research,as well as identifies the flaws and gaps found in those literatures.This article provides several teaching suggestions based on previous analyses,which have found that the misuse of verbs and articles are the most common errors in English writing among Chinese students.Based on this,most studies attributed those errors to the negative transfer of Chinese due to the thought patterns and disparities between Chinese and English.

The Practical Use of Syntactic Error Analysis of Pronoun Mistakes in L2 Writing

One of the toughest challenges facing EFL/ESL instructors is that learners find it difficult to translate what they learn in grammar class into their own writing.Moreover,they make the same mistakes repeatedly after being corrected.In order to improve students’writing,grammatical awareness is essential.Therefore,teachers should raise the students’level of awareness of syntactic patterns and transformations of the language(Koffi,2010).In this way,teachers are not merely giving the students answers directly,but are actually showing them how to solve these syntactic puzzles by themselves.The purpose of this paper is to analyze frequently made pronoun mistakes in College ESL students’writings to offer insights into how to use pronouns accurately and to enhance learners’writing skills.This paper will look closely at a set of writings done mostly by Somali ESL students in the hope of developing some pedagogical suggestions for teaching pronouns.Frequently made pronoun mistakes will be discussed with examples from students’writing samples.

Error Analysis and Its Offset on the NC Lathe Machine in Cutting a Semi-Sphere Surface

This paper analyzed the errors that occurred by leaving the shape of the cutting edge out of consideration on a NC lathe machine in cutting a semi-sphere surface and brought forward a method to offset these errors and the correct calculated formula for some parameters on the basis of experiments. It has increased the manufacturing accuracy of the semi-sphere surface on the NC lathe machine.

Error Analysis of English Pronunciation of Non-English Majors

In English study,pronunciation not only influences daily communication,but also influences listening,reading and writ⁃ing ability.However,modern English education overly focuses on the uses of vocabularies and grammars,and it is short of the prac⁃tice of pronunciation.Therefore,English pronunciation errors become a common problem among non-English majors.The focus of this research is on analyzing the errors of English pronunciation through sampling thirty non-English majors in college.Based on error analysis theory,and with the assistance of pronunciation test,this study figured out several types of non-English majors’pro⁃nunciation errors in pronunciation,stress,tone and intonation these dimensions.
