基于可视化手段分析的国外听障儿童语言习得与康复干预研究述评——以Clinical Linguistics & Phonetics为域

为了及时跟进国际研究前沿,以充实和完善我国听障儿童康复干预体系,本研究选择国际权威学术期刊《Clinical Linguistics & Phonetics》,选取其中59篇聚焦于听障儿童语言习得与康复干预的核心文献,以期通过对期刊总计1194篇文献进行深入可视化处理后,探究听障儿童相关研究在二十年期间内的主要聚焦点。根据研究领域的变迁,将听障儿童语言习得与康复干预的研究分为三个阶段:阶段一(2002~2008年),该阶段的研究主要以语音学为核心;阶段二(2009~2015年),语音学研究依旧占据主导,但非语音学研究开始逐步增多,显示听障儿童语言康复研究的初步拓展;阶段三(2016~2022年),非语音学相关研究的数量和影响力显著超越语音学研究,标志着听障儿童语言康复研究进入了多元化发展阶段。In order to follow up the international research frontier in time, so as to enrich and improve the rehabilitation intervention system of hearing-impaired children in China, this study selected the international authoritative academic journal Clinical Linguistics & Phonetics, and selected 59 core literatures focusing on language acquisition and rehabilitation intervention of hearing-impaired children, in order to explore the main focus points of related research on hearing-impaired children in 20 years after in-depth visualization of a total of 1194 literatures in the journal. According to the changes of research fields, the research on language acquisition and rehabilitation intervention of hearing-impaired children is divided into three stages: stage 1 (2002~2008), which mainly focuses on phonetics;In the second stage (2009~2015), phonetic research still dominates, but non-phonetic research begins to gradually increase, showing the initial expansion of language rehabilitation research for hearing-impaired children;In the third stage (2016~2022), the number and influence of non-phonetics-related research significantly surpassed that of phonetics research, marking that language rehabilitation research for hearing-impaired children has entered a diversified development stage.

English Phonetics Problems under the Chinese Mother-tongue and Dialect Cultures and its Countermeasures

Many people do believe that the pronunciation just related to the phonetic transcription, if we can master it, then we have good pronunciation. However, during the process of language study, we can found that the phonetics is affected by many factors. Experimental Phonetics Contrastive Study on [d?][t?][?]——Spoken by American Native Speakers and Yantai English Learners

The negative transfer of native language influences the English acquisition process of the college students from Yantai in a great degree,both in the segmental and suprasegmental level,while the consonants in the segmental level are influenced most.The paper makes an experimental phonetic contrastive study on [d?],[t?],[?] in the aspect of frication between native English speakers from America and English learners from Yantai basing on processing a large number of English word corpora by using PRAAT.It is found that the degree of frication of [d?],[t?],[?] in American English is strong,while Yantai weak.

An Analysis of Innovative Teaching of English Phonetics for Non-English Major Students

Phonetics is the cornerstone of language.The improvement of the proficiency of pronunciation has a great effect on the level of English listening and speaking skills.Learners with high proficiency in pronunciation can communicate effectively in terms of thoughts,culture,and emotions[1].However,due to the limitations of the language environment,subject characteristics,and traditional teaching methods,non-English majors often face problems such as difficulty in pronunciation and lack of motivation for learning,which raise concerns regarding the English phonetic learning situation among these students.Therefore,innovative phonetic teaching is of great significance to non-English majors.This paper aims to provide some innovative and effective strategies for the innovative teaching of English phonetics for non-English majors to meet the learning needs of students,and to provide useful guidelines for future teaching reform and practice.According to the literature review and personal teaching experience,the article summarizes some innovative strategies that can improve the teaching of non-English majors’pronunciation,such as using real situations and technical assistance,encouraging cooperative learning,gamifying phonetic learning,and so on.By implementing these strategies,students can improve phonetic sensitivity and pronunciation accuracy,thereby enhancing their listening skills and oral fluency.

The Concept of "Object" in Activity Theory and Its Application in Classroom Research:A Case Study of a Phonetics Course

Activity Theory （AT） has its philosophical roots in classical German philosophy, in the works of Marx and Engels, and in the Soviet Russian cultural-historical school of psychology （Engestrom, 1999）. AT and the Activity System （AS） model developed by Engestrom are widely used in a variety of fields in social sciences. In this paper, I consider how the AS model and the concept of ＂object＂ in particular can be adopted when researching the complexity and dynamics of teaching activity and its outcome on a phonetics course at a university in China. The findings indicate that varied ＂object＂ that each individual student is working at during the teaching and learning activities constitutes an important and direct factor leading to differentiated learning outcome in the phonetics course. A thorough examination of the relationship between the components of the AS reveals ways of narrowing the gap between the collective ＂object＂ that is constructed publicly and explicitly during the lesson and the individual ＂object＂ constructed silently and implicitly by each individual. The author argues that the closer the collective ＂object＂ is to the individual ones, the more rewarding a lesson will be to the majority of the students. Thus it is the teachers＇ responsibility to identify various individual ＂objects＂ and to bridge the gap between the collective and individual ＂objects＂ in order to improve the quality of classroom teaching and learning.

GP‐FMLNet:A feature matrix learning network enhanced by glyph and phonetic information for Chinese sentiment analysis

Sentiment analysis is a fine‐grained analysis task that aims to identify the sentiment polarity of a specified sentence.Existing methods in Chinese sentiment analysis tasks only consider sentiment features from a single pole and scale and thus cannot fully exploit and utilise sentiment feature information,making their performance less than ideal.To resolve the problem,the authors propose a new method,GP‐FMLNet,that integrates both glyph and phonetic information and design a novel feature matrix learning process for phonetic features with which to model words that have the same pinyin information but different glyph information.Our method solves the problem of misspelling words influencing sentiment polarity prediction results.Specifically,the authors iteratively mine character,glyph,and pinyin features from the input comments sentences.Then,the authors use soft attention and matrix compound modules to model the phonetic features,which empowers their model to keep on zeroing in on the dynamic‐setting words in various positions and to dispense with the impacts of the deceptive‐setting ones.Ex-periments on six public datasets prove that the proposed model fully utilises the glyph and phonetic information and improves on the performance of existing Chinese senti-ment analysis algorithms.

Canadian English and its phonetic features

British English and American English are regarded as the two major varieties of English in the world, and Canadian English is often treated as a variation of American English. The paper aims to identify the major phonetic features of Canadian English by addressing its differences from British and American English based on a historical, demographical, and regional and dialectal analysis. Canadian English is a cultural phenomenon that has evolved on the basis of British English and under the heavy influence of American English. As a distinctive variety of English, Canadian English possesses its phonetic uniqueness. And in the context of globalization, Canadian English will remain subject to Americanization.

Ambiguity in our daily language usage in both English and Chinese

Ambiguity is a unique linguistic feature and is caused by many factors. This paper first introduces the definitions of ambiguity and then mainly illustrates ambiguity in our daily language usage in both English and Chinese from phonetic level and syntactic level. People can learn the relationships among those levels and grasp the rule of learning language. Thus, people can realize the complexity and importance of using language and know that it is not easy to express ideas accurately.

On the Application of Task-based Language Teaching Approach to English Phonetic Teaching

Task-based language teaching approach(TBLTA), which lays stress on "learning by doing", gained increasing popularity in English teaching in recent years. The design of phonetic teaching calls for more emphasis from English educators since it is one of the basic rounds of English teaching. This paper made a trial on the utilization of TBLTA in the English phonetic teaching context and designed a TBLTA model for English phonetic teaching based on discussions about model and merits of TBLTA.

On Negative Transfer in Pronunciation by English Majors in Higher Vo cational and Technical Colleges

In the reform of educational structure in China recently, vocational education is being focused and higher vocational education is developing rapidly. With the increase of student enrollment in Higher Vocational Technical College (HVTC), the quality of students is declining in the meantime and especially the students who major in English have a low proficiency in English language. This thesis explores the theory of phonetics and the theory of transfer in second language learning and deals with negative transfer of mother tongue in segmental and supra-segmental levels to HVTC students when they learn English pronunciation and intonation.

Evaluation of Speech Intelligibility of a Cleft Palate Patient with Speech Prosthesis before and after Palatographical Analysis and Prosthesis Modification

The aim of the study was to evaluate the alterations in speech intelligibility in a cleft palate patient, before and after extending and modifying the palatal contour of the existing prosthesis using a correctable wax recording. An eight-year-old girl studying in second grade with a velopharyngeal defect using an obturator reported to the outpatient clinic complaining of lack in clarity of speech. The existing prosthesis was lacking a speech bulb hence it was decided to add the speech bulb to the existing prosthesis and evaluate the speech. Even after the use of speech bulb it was observed that she was unable to pronounce the vowels and words like shoe, vision, cheer, etc. clearly. Hence, a palatography was done using a correctable wax technique and the existing prosthesis was altered accordingly. Great improvement in speech, mastication, and velopharyngeal function was achieved after the palatography alteration of the existing prosthesis.

Analysis of early history of Chinese by Cassirer＇s theory of language

The German master of philosophy--Ernest Cassirer＇s theory of language that covered most aspects ranged from sounds to forms was predominately related to his study of Indo-European languages. Whereas his fruitful researches are applicable to Chinese, though they were not clearly mentioned in his works as well as to its western counterparts. The essay thus is carried out around the major linguistic aspects--phonetics, formation of words and syntax to detect the applicability of Cassirer＇s theory to the early development of Chinese.

The Direct Spelling Method

According to the difficulties in articulating words, phonetics and L ettters for the English beginners, the author made an experiment on the Direct S pelling method put forward by professor ZhangJianZhong.
