The Relation of Atrial Fibrillation and Inflammation Do Inflammation Imply the Pathogenesis of Atrial Fibrillation?

Atrial fibrillation （AF）, the most commonly encountered arrhythmia in clinical practice, is associated with a 2-fold increase in total cardiovascular mortality, as well as the potential for substantial morbidity, including stroke, congestive heart failure, and cardiomyopathy. Its incidence and prevalence are increasing, and it represents a growing clinical and economic burden. Owing to relative inefficacy and side effects of current pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy for AF, it remains a great challenge to improve primary and secondary AF prevention strategies to reduce this potentially enormous health burden.

Factors Affecting the Relation of Fracture Toughness V_(GC) with Critical Void Growth Ratio R_C/R_O

The relationship between fracture toughness VGC and critical void growth RC/RO was studied for ten kinds of Steel. The macroscopic fracture toughness VGC was determined by using notched tensile specimens. and the microscopic parameters of critical void growth ratio RC/RO were quantitatively measured under SEM. Then, the coefhcient C in the relation VGC = C In(RC/RO) proposed in author's past work was specifically explored. The correlation of C with tensile proderty parameter φ=σyδ/(Eφn) was presented for the Steel investigated, and the effects of low temperature on C were also discussed. Results show that the coefficient C is linearly related to the parameter and insensitive to low temperature.

Studies on the Relation between the Composition of Thermal Sensitive MnZn Ferrite and Curie Temperature

Thermal sensitive MnZn ferrite is a kind of soft magnetic ferrite material with lower Curie temperature (Tc) and can be used to make many kinds of magnetic thermal sensitive sensors with high sensitivity. In this paper, the relation between the composition of thermal sensitive ferrite and TC was studied. It was found that TC changes linearly with ZnO extent when the content of Fe2O3 is fixed. Based on lots of experiments, an experimential formula to determine was given out.

Argument on the magnitude-frequency relation

The complexity of seismicity and the relation of magnitude and frequency are discussed in this paper on the basis of nonlinear dynamics and multifractal theory. We argue that seismic active systems normally have multifractal characteristics, either for the spatial-temporal distribution or the intensity distribution of events. In the view of multifractal theory the nonlinear characteristics of the magnitude-frequency relation are discussed and the formulation is revised. Also, one example of the variance of bq estimated based on the recent New Zealand catalogue is enumerated.

THE RELATION BETWEEN INCIPIENT CAVITATION AND TENSILE STRENGTH OF A LIQUID

Since the first report on scale effect of cavitation inception with consideration of tensile strength of water was published in 1983 [1], a new technique for measuring tensile strength of liquid named by Dr. A. Keller, as 'Vortex-nozzle Cavitation Susceptibility Meter (CSM)' has been improved and developed through these years of usage. Some interesting concepts and techinque will be discussed in this paper. For example, how to calibrate the 'CSM', how to determine the 'Zero Tensile Strength of a Liquid' and how to determine the incipient cavitation number with consideration of the liquid's tensile strength.

THE RELATION OF PARATHYROID FUNCTION TO PREGNANCY-INDUCED HYPERTENTION

Parathyrin (PTH) and calcitonin were measured with radioimmunoassay in 39 cases of pregnancy-induced hypertension (PIH) in late pregnancy, 76 cases in normal early pregnancy and 278 cases in late pregnancy without PIH. Markedly increased PTH was noted in the women in late pregnancy, indicating the state of secondary hyperparathyroidism. PTH values in the women in late pregnancy with PIH were higher than those in the normal early pregnancy group, but lower than those in the women in late pregnancy without PIH. The difference between PTH values in the PIH group and late pregnancy without PIH group was of statistical significance (P<0.05), while no significant difference was seen between calcitonin values of the two groups (P > 0.05). The results suggest that the pathogenesis of PIH may be related to the function of parathyroid.

Two topological approaches to resonance energy and the relation between them

Two of the present authors recently put forward a novel approach to resonance energy which is based on a similar topological reasoning as a previously elaborated resonance energy concept. It is shown that these two approaches are not completely equivalent. Several other properties of the new resonance energy are pointed out.

f-heredity knowledge and f-heredity mining

Using S-rough sets, this paper gives the concepts off-heredity knowledge and its heredity coefficient, and f-variation coefficient of knowledge; presents the theorem of f-attribute dependence of variation coefficient and the relation theorem of heredity-variation. The attribute dependence of f-variation coefficient and the relation of heredity-variation are important characteristics of S-rough sets. From such discussion, this paper puts forward the heredity mining off-knowledge and the algorithm of heredity mining, also gives its relative application.

Sensitivity analysis of a methanol and power polygeneration system fueled with coke oven gas and coal gas

The sensitivity analysis of a polygeneration energy system fueled with duo fuel of coke oven gas and coal gas is performed in the study,and the focus is put on the relations among syngas composition,conversation rate and performance.The impacts of the system configuration together with the fuel composition on the performance are investigated and discussed from the point of cascading utilization of fuel chemical energy.First,the main parameters affecting the performance are derived along with the analysis of the system configuration and the syngas composition.After the performance is being simulated by means of the Aspen Plus process simulator of version 11.1,the variation of the performance due to the composition of syngas and the conversion rate of chemical subsystem is obtained and discussed.It is obtained from the result that the proper conversion rate of the chemical subsystem according to the specific syngas composition results in better performance.And the syngas composition affects the optimal conversion rate of the chemical subsystem,the optimal point of which is around the stoichiometric composition for methanol production(CO/H_(2)=0.5).In all,the polygeneration system fueled with coke oven gas and coal gas,which can realize the reasonable conversion of syngas to power and chemical product according to the syngas composition,is a promising method for coal energy conversion and utilization.
