The projection uses process energy budget (measured in kJ) on the horizontal axes and process density (measured in kJg−1) on the vertical axes. These two axes allow both mass usage efficiency (Environmental-Factor) and energy efficiency to be evaluated for a range of microwave applicator and metal synthesis. The metrics are allied to the: second, sixth and eleventh principle of the twelve principle of Green Chemistry. This analytical approach to microwave synthesis (widely considered as a useful Green Chemistry energy source) allows a quantified dynamic environmental quotient to be given to renewable plant-based biomass associated with the reduction of the metal precursors. Thus allowing a degree of quantification of claimed “eco-friendly” and “sustainable” synthesis with regard to waste production and energy usage.展开更多

Cata‐lytic combustion is an effective way to eliminate VOCs. The key issue is the availability of high per‐formance catalysts. Many catalysts including transition metal oxides, mixed metal oxides, and sup‐ported noble metals have been developed. Among these catalysts, the porous ones attract much attention. In this review, we focus on recent advances in the synthesis of ordered mesoporous and macroporous transition metal oxides, perovskites, and supported noble metal catalysts and their catalytic oxidation of VOCs. The porous catalysts outperformed their bulk counterparts. This excel‐lent catalytic performance was due to their high surface areas, high concentration of adsorbed oxy‐gen species, low temperature reducibility, strong interaction between noble metal and support and highly dispersed noble metal nanoparticles and unique porous structures. Catalytic oxidation of carbon monoxide over typical catalysts was also discussed. We made conclusive remarks and pro‐posed future work for the removal of VOCs.展开更多

The introduced metals induced high dispersion in the vanadium species and the formation of vanadates on the TiO2 support, and increased the amount of surface acid sites and the strength of these acids. The strong acid sites might be responsible for the high N2 selectivity at higher temperatures. Among these catalysts, Cu-V/TiO2 showed the highest activity and N2 selectivity at 225-375 ~C. The results of X-ray photo- electron spectroscopy, NH3-temperature-programmed desorption, and in-situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy suggested that the improved performance was probably due to more active surface oxygen species and increased strong surface acid sites. The outstanding activity, stability, and SO2/H2O durability of Cu-V/TiO2 make it a candidate to be a NOx removal catalyst for stationary flue gas.展开更多

Physicochemical properties of the as-synthesized samples were characterized by means of various techniques, and their catalytic activities for HCHO(0.2%) oxidation were evaluated. Among the samples, Cu/Na Sep exhibited superior performance, and complete HCHO conversion was achieved at 100 ℃(GHSV = 240000 m L/(g·h)). Additionally, the sample retained good catalytic activity during a 42 h stability test. A number of factors, including elevated acidity, the abundance of oxygen species, and favorable low-temperature reducibility, were responsible for the excellent catalytic activity of Cu/Na Sep. According to the results of the in-situ DRIFTS characterization, the HCHO oxidation mechanism was as follows:(i) HCHO was rapidly decomposed into dioxymethylene(DOM) species on the Cu/Na Sep surface;(ii) DOM was then immediately converted to formate species;(iii) the resultant formate species were further oxidized to carbonates;(iv) the carbonate species were eventually converted to CO2 and H2O.展开更多

文摘The transition metal complexes of triaminoguanidine(TAG-M,where M=Cobalt(Co)or Iron(Fe))have been prepared. The catalytic effect of these complexes on the thermolysis of energetic composite based on nitrocellulose and diethylene glycol dinitrate, has been investigated.Extensive characterization of the resulting energetic composites was carried out using scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC).Isoconversional kinetic analysis was performed to determine the Arrhenius parameters associated with the thermolysis of the elaborated energetic formulations. It is found that TAG-M complexes have strong catalytic effect on the thermo-kinetic decomposition of NC/DEGDN by decreasing the apparent activation energy and significantly increased the total heat release. The models that govern the decomposition processes are also studied, and it is revealed that different reaction processes are accomplished by introduction metal complexes of triaminoguanidine.Overall, this study serves as a valuable reference for future research focused on the investigation of catalytic combustion features of solid propellants.

文摘Ultraviolet photodetectors(UV PDs)are widely used in civilian, scientific, and military fields due to their high sensitivity and low false alarm rates. We present a temperature-dependent Lewis acid p-type doping method for transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs),which can effectively be used to extend the optical response range. The p-type doping based on surface charge transfer involves the chemical adsorption of the Lewis acid SnCl_(4)as a light absorption layer on the surface of WS_(2),significantly enhancing its UV photodetection performance.Under 365 nm laser irradiation,WS_(2)PDs exhibit response speed of 24 ms/20 ms,responsivity of 660 mA/W,detectivity of 3.3×10^(11)Jones,and external quantum efficiency of 226%.Moreover,we successfully apply this doping method to other TMDs materials(such as MoS_(2),MoSe_(2),and WSe_(2))and fabricate WS_(2) lateral p–n heterojunction PDs.

文摘Diesel engine exhaust comprises nitrogen oxides(NOx)and soot particles, which cause serious air pollution. However, owing to the contradictory nature of NO_(x)reduction and soot oxidation,a trade-off exists in the simultaneous removal of NO_(x)and soot.Consequently, catalytic technology has become a hot research topic. This study prepared MOδ/Fe-Beta(M=Fe,Co,Ni,Mn,Cu)catalysts through incipient wetness impregnation using Fe-Beta as the support and explored the catalytic performance of the above catalysts. The results exhibited the good performance of the prepared catalysts. The introduction of Mn resulted in a lower peak temperature of soot combustion for the catalyst, and slightly decreased deNOx performance of Fe-Beta.The soot combustion temperature was as low as 422℃,and the temperature window for 80%NO conversion was 164-423℃.The interaction between MnOd and zeolite can regulate the acid sites and produce sufficient active oxygen species for the catalyst. The catalytic activity of the MnOδ/Fe-Beta catalyst is due to its strong redox property, the appropriate number of acid sites, and sufficient number of active oxygen species. In addition, the catalyst had good stability and water and sulfur resistance, therefore it had great potential for future application in the simultaneous removal of NO_(x)and soot from diesel engine exhaust.

文摘Engineering transition metal compounds(TMCs)catalysts with excellent adsorption-catalytic ability has been one of the most effec-tive strategies to accelerate the redox kinetics of sulfur cathodes.Herein, this review focuses on engineering TMCs catalysts by cation doping/anion doping/dual doping,bimetallic/bi-anionic TMCs,and TMCs-based heterostructure composites. It is obvious that introducing cations/anions to TMCs or constructing heterostructure can boost adsorption-catalytic capacity by regulating the electronic structure including energy band,d/p-band center, electron filling, and valence state. Moreover, the elec-tronic structure of doped/dual-ionic TMCs are adjusted by inducing ions with different electronegativity, electron filling, and ion radius, resulting in electron redistribution, bonds reconstruction, induced vacancies due to the electronic interaction and changed crystal structure such as lat-tice spacing and lattice distortion.Different from the aforementioned two strategies, heterostructures are constructed by two types of TMCs with different Fermi energy levels, which causes built-in electric field and electrons transfer through the interface, and induces electron redistribution and arranged local atoms to regulate the electronic structure.Additionally, the lacking studies of the three strategies to comprehensively regulate electronic structure for improving catalytic performance are pointed out.It is believed that this review can guide the design of advanced TMCs catalysts for boosting redox of lithium sulfur batteries.
文摘Rational design of efficient pH-universal hydrogen evolution reaction catalysts to enable large-scale hydrogen production via electrochemical water splitting is of great significance, yet a challenging task.Herein,Ru atoms in the Ru_(2)P structure were replaced with M=Co,Ni,or Mo to produce M_(2-x)Ru_(x)P nanocrystals. The metals show strong site preference, with Co and Ni occupying the tetrahedral sites and Ru the square pyramidal sites of the CoRuP and NiRuP Ru_(2)P-type structures. The presence of Co or Ni in the tetrahedral sites leads to charge redistribution for Ru and, according to density functional theory calculations,a significant increase in the Ru d-band centers. As a result, the intrinsic activity of CoRuP and NiRuP increases considerably compared to Ru_(2)P in both acidic and alkaline media. The effect is not observed for MoRuP,in which Mo prefers to occupy the pyramidal sites. In particular,CoRuP shows state-of-the-art activity, outperforming Ru_(2)P with Pt-like activity in 0.5 M H_(2)SO_(4)(η_(10)=12.3 mV;η100=52 mV;turnover frequency(TOF)=4.7 s^(-1)).It remains extraordinarily active in alkaline conditions(η10=12.9 mV;η_(100)=43.5 mV)with a TOF of 4.5 s^(-1),which is 4x higher than that of Ru_(2)P and 10x that of Pt/C.Further increase in the Co content does not lead to drastic loss of activity, especially in alkaline medium, where, for example, the TOF of Co_(1.9)Ru_(0.1)P remains comparable to that of Ru_(2)P and higher than that of Pt/C,highlighting the viability of the adopted approach to prepare cost-efficient catalysts.
文摘This paper describes mass-based energy phase-space projection of microwave-assisted synthesis of transition metals (zinc oxide, palladium, silver, platinum, and gold) nanostructures. Thus allowing a degree of quantification of claimed “eco-friendly” and “sustainable” synthesis with regard to waste production and energy usage.

文摘Most of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are harmful to the atmosphere and human health. We made conclusive remarks and pro‐posed future work for the removal of VOCs.

文摘Different transition metals were used to modify V2O5-based catalysts (M-V, M = Cu, Fe, Mn, Co) on TiO2 via impregnation, for the selective reduction of NO with NH3. The outstanding activity, stability, and SO2/H2O durability of Cu-V/TiO2 make it a candidate to be a NOx removal catalyst for stationary flue gas.

文摘LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 cathode was synthesized using transition metal acetates under different synthesis conditions. Simultaneous thermogravimetric–differential scanning calorimetry–derivative thermogravimetric analysis was applied to investigating the mixture of transition metal acetates. X-ray powder diffraction and charge–discharge test were adopted to characterize the as-prepared LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2. The mixture of transition metal acetates undergoes dehydration and decomposition during heating. All the examined LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 samples have a layered structure with R3 m space group. LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 samples prepared with different lithium sources under different synthesis conditions exhibit very different charge–discharge performances. The sample synthesized via the procedure of sintering at 800 °C after heating lithium carbonate and transition metal acetates at 550 °C achieves a highest capacity of 200.8 m A·h/g and an average capacity of 188.1 mA ·h/g in the first 20 cycles at 0.2C.
文摘Sodium-treated sepiolite(Na Sep)-supported transition metal catalysts(TM/Na Sep;TM = Cu, Fe, Ni, Mn, and Co) were synthesized via a rotary evaporation method. According to the results of the in-situ DRIFTS characterization, the HCHO oxidation mechanism was as follows:(i) HCHO was rapidly decomposed into dioxymethylene(DOM) species on the Cu/Na Sep surface;(ii) DOM was then immediately converted to formate species;(iii) the resultant formate species were further oxidized to carbonates;(iv) the carbonate species were eventually converted to CO2 and H2O.

文摘As a main oxidizer in solid composite propellants, ammonium perchlorate(AP)plays an important role because its thermal decomposition behavior has a direct influence on the characteristic of solid composite propellants. To improve the performance of solid composite propellant,it is necessary to take measures to modify the thermal decomposition behavior of AP.In recent years, transition metal oxides and carbon-supported transition metal oxides have drawn considerable attention due to their extraordinary catalytic activity. In this review,we highlight strategies to enhance the thermal decomposition of AP by tuning morphology, varying the types of metal ion,and coupling with carbon analogue. The enhanced catalytic performance can be ascribed to synergistic effect, increased surface area, more exposed active sites, and accelerated electron transportation and so on.The mechanism of AP decomposition mixed with catalyst has also been briefly summarized. Finally,a conclusive outlook and possible research directions are suggested to address challenges such as lacking practical application in actual formulation of solid composite propellant and batch manufacturing.
