Objective:This integrative review aimed to identify the common characteristics of moral distress in nursing and distinguish it from other types of distress by examining nurses’perspectives in the literature.These ins...Objective:This integrative review aimed to identify the common characteristics of moral distress in nursing and distinguish it from other types of distress by examining nurses’perspectives in the literature.These insights will help update existing tools and create new ones to capture moral distress better,guiding the development and implementation of strategies to support nurses in addressing this challenge.Methods:Whittemore and Knafl’s integrative review method was employed to guide a systematic search for literature in three databases(EBSCO Medline,CINAHL,and PubMed).Additionally,two journals,Bioethics and Nursing Ethics,were manually searched to reduce search bias.The included studies were primary resources published in English between 2018 and 2023,utilizing quantitative,qualitative,or mixed methods to examine moral distress’s characteristics,components,and definitions.All of identified studies were screened,extracted,and analyzed independently by two researchers.Results:Nineteen studies were included.The results were grouped into five themes shaping the main characteristics of moral distress:1)experiencing a moral situation,with five ethically conflicted situations identified,including treatment plans,professional and personal moral values,team dynamics,complex contexts,clinical practices,and patient-centered care;2)making a moral judgment,where nurses experience moral distress when they cannot act consistently with their values,ethical principles,and moral duties;3)the presence of constraints,categorized at three levels:individual factors related to the nurse,patient,and patient’s family;team factors related to the team or unit involved;and system factors,including institutional and policy elements;4)moral wrongdoing,which occurs when nurses are unable to perform the right moral action;and 5)moral suffering,with studies showing that moral distress impacts physical,emotional,and psychological well-being.Conclusion:The findings enhance the understanding of moral distress characteristics among nursing staff,highlighting the concept of the crescendo effect,which underscores the cumulative and escalating nature of unresolved moral distress,emphasizing the need to address moral conflicts proactively to prevent the erosion of moral integrity and professional satisfaction.展开更多

By accepting this relationship, generalists emphasize the nec...Moral generalism and particularism are two positions in meta-ethics which have different views regarding the relation between moral thought and principles. By accepting this relationship, generalists emphasize the necessity of principles in decision making process, and claim that the rationality of moral thought depends on the provision of a suitable supply ofmoral principles. In contrast, particularists have rejected, or at least doubted, the existence of moral principles, and believe that the rationality of moral thought depends on recognizing special features of a case and relevant conditions. This is why, unlike generalists, they use case study method rather than syllogism in decision making process and moral judgment. Consequently, to support their view, particularists commonly resort to holism in the theory of reasons, while atomism is in support of generalism. To evaluate these two attitudes, this study surveys some arguments that particularists and generalists proposed to justify their view and criticize the rival's one, and also explains their positions concerning the epistemological and metaphysical role of moral principles and reasons. Finally, after evaluating their claims, the importance of both approaches in meta-ethics is stressed.展开更多

Dewey's criticism of rigid moral training in ...Moral education as practiced in schools today roughly falls into two kinds, either taught as an independent subject or practiced as a form of school-wide social learning. Dewey's criticism of rigid moral training in traditional schools gives credence to the latter trend. For instance, in 2000 Taiwan's Ministry of Education decided to eliminate moral education as a required subject from the national school curriculum and suggested that all schools and teachers should infuse morality into the school culture as a whole. More than a decade has passed, and many people question whether schools have been infused with morality. Some even suggest that not teaching morality in schools has led to an eroding of moral standards in society at large. In light of this controversy, in this paper, I take a close look at Dewey's conception of the nature of morality, and in particular, his distinction between reflective and customary morality. Drawing on Dewey's own moral struggles in life to illustrate his major contentions, I explore what Dewey means by moral reflection, dramatic rehearsal, and growth. Finally, I argue for the importance of committed moral values as the foundation for realizing Dewey's ideal of reflective intelligence. Overall, I aim to unpack the underlying assumptions in Dewey's ideas in order to renew his lessons for moral education today.展开更多

Objectives:The present study examined the relationship between college students’moral elevation and prosocial behavior.As well as the mediating role of perceived social support and the moderating role of moral identi...Objectives:The present study examined the relationship between college students’moral elevation and prosocial behavior.As well as the mediating role of perceived social support and the moderating role of moral identity.Methods:A sample of 489 college students were recruited for the study.They were asked to complete a series of questionnaires,including Moral Elevation Scale(MES),Perceived Social Support Scale(PSSS),Moral Identity Scale(MIS)and Prosocial Tendency Measure(PTM).As part of the data analysis,we used correlation analysis and the method of constructing latent variable structural equation model to explore the mechanism of action among variables.Results:After controlling for gender,discipline,the research found that:(1)Moral elevation positively predicted the prosocial behavior among the college students;(2)Perceived social support mediated the relationship between moral elevation and prosocial behavior;(3)Moral identity moderated the second half of the model(i.e.,the link between perceived social support and prosocial behavior).Specifically,the mediating effect of perceived social support was stronger for college students with high-level moral identity compared to those with low-level moral identity.Conclusions:Moral identity significantly moderates the mediating effect of perceived social support,and the mediating model with moderated is established.展开更多

文摘The Moral and Law course serves as a critical platform for educating university students about ideals and beliefs,and it has a significant impact on the effectiveness of ideals and beliefs education.This paper establishes a mechanism through which Moral and Law course teaching influences the effectiveness of ideals and beliefs education and conducts an empirical evaluation.The results reveal that factors such as the relevance and applicability of the teaching content,the integration of theory and practice,the innovation,interactivity,and participation of teaching methods,as well as classroom atmosphere,teaching facilities,and campus culture,all have a significant positive impact on the effectiveness of ideals and beliefs education for university students.
文摘AFuller makes the morality be divided into two groups of morality in the book "The Morality of Law" . One group is the desiderative morality and compulsory morality, and other group is innernal and external morality of law. The desiderative morality is the good morality with life, excellent morality and the morality which can make human' s power be fully realized. The author makes the interactive relationship between innernal morality and external morality be explained that there is experience contact about innernal and external morality of law. The explanation about this kind of experience relationship conforms with the position of the sociology of law which is definited by Fuller in law. In addition, seen from the practical experience and historical experience of human, this kind of explanation not only conforms with the demand of human practice but also conforms with the reality at the same time. There is also some significance which can be reference for us to discuss how to conduct the law practice.

文摘This paper first analyses the reasons for the low effectiveness of moral education in the current higher mathematics teaching,and then puts forward the contents,methods,and approaches of integrating moral education into higher mathematics teaching in the new era on this basis,and finally finds out the points for attention in the integration of moral education in higher mathematics teaching in the new era.Theoretically,the moral education content is innovated.We should set up the moral education idea of students as the foundation and moral education as the first,establish the attainable goals of moral education in different stages and levels,excavate the moral education resources contained in the current real life and social hot spots,and pay attention to the inheritance and enlightenment of Chinese excellent traditional culture,especially the mathematical culture and history in moral education.In practice,the moral education methods are improved and the moral education approaches are broadened.Moral education methods should be close to reality and life,should adapt to students’personality and hobbies,and should be diversified.Moral education can be carried out by improving the working mechanism of moral education management,publicity,and so on,strengthening the construction of moral education team and creating an atmosphere of full staff education.
文摘Moral education as practiced in schools today roughly falls into two kinds, either taught as an independent subject or practiced as a form of school-wide social learning. Dewey's criticism of rigid moral training in traditional schools gives credence to the latter trend. For instance, in 2000 Taiwan's Ministry of Education decided to eliminate moral education as a required subject from the national school curriculum and suggested that all schools and teachers should infuse morality into the school culture as a whole. More than a decade has passed, and many people question whether schools have been infused with morality. Some even suggest that not teaching morality in schools has led to an eroding of moral standards in society at large. In light of this controversy, in this paper, I take a close look at Dewey's conception of the nature of morality, and in particular, his distinction between reflective and customary morality. Drawing on Dewey's own moral struggles in life to illustrate his major contentions, I explore what Dewey means by moral reflection, dramatic rehearsal, and growth. Finally, I argue for the importance of committed moral values as the foundation for realizing Dewey's ideal of reflective intelligence. Overall, I aim to unpack the underlying assumptions in Dewey's ideas in order to renew his lessons for moral education today.
文摘The moral postulate is the key concept of ethical pragmatism that suggests that whatever is genuinely beneficial,an individual must be genuinely good for the group.Dewey suggests that the moral postulate implies the solutions to moral disagreements.This paper examines pragmatists’ethics and proposes that people are justified to hold this belief.Moreover,that people hold the belief makes the realization of the moral postulate and solutions of moral disagreements possible.This paper provides a unique approach to solving moral disagreements and avoids the dichotomy between Kantianism and Utilitarianism.

文摘Objectives:The present study examined the relationship between college students’moral elevation and prosocial behavior.As well as the mediating role of perceived social support and the moderating role of moral identity.Methods:A sample of 489 college students were recruited for the study.They were asked to complete a series of questionnaires,including Moral Elevation Scale(MES),Perceived Social Support Scale(PSSS),Moral Identity Scale(MIS)and Prosocial Tendency Measure(PTM).As part of the data analysis,we used correlation analysis and the method of constructing latent variable structural equation model to explore the mechanism of action among variables.Results:After controlling for gender,discipline,the research found that:(1)Moral elevation positively predicted the prosocial behavior among the college students;(2)Perceived social support mediated the relationship between moral elevation and prosocial behavior;(3)Moral identity moderated the second half of the model(i.e.,the link between perceived social support and prosocial behavior).Specifically,the mediating effect of perceived social support was stronger for college students with high-level moral identity compared to those with low-level moral identity.Conclusions:Moral identity significantly moderates the mediating effect of perceived social support,and the mediating model with moderated is established.

文摘The double moral hazard of "company + farmer" and the time preference cost of company and farmer was analyzed. According to static game model, it re-vealed that the reason for low compliance rate of "company + farmer" model was the existence of market risk, namely, the fluctuation of market price, and the stable market price in contracts was actualy a kind of interval, instead of a specific value. Furthermore, the effect of default penalty, market transaction cost and time prefer-ence cost on the stability of contract was studied. The results showed that default penalty, market transaction cost and time preference cost had positive influence on the price interval range of a contract.
文摘学界一般认为,康德没有严格区分Sitten和Moral,故均以“道德”译之。近有文章予以严格区分,分以“伦理”和“道德”译之。主要理由有4条:(1)古代只有伦理(Sitten),并无道德(Moral);(2)Metaphysik der Sitten(道德形而上学)与Moralphilosophie(道德哲学)不同;(3)Sittenlehre(道德学说)与Moral(道德学)不同;(4)Sittlichkeit与Moralit?t不同。经文献梳理发现:(1)古代既有道德的词源即ηθοs,又有道德的内容即德性(Tugend);(2)道德形而上学与道德哲学之不同非Sitten和Moral不同之故,系哲学和形而上学不同之故;(3)道德学说和道德学之差异非Sitten和Moral之差异,系两者作为“学说”(Lehre)在性质和范围上的差异;(4)按严格区分Sittlichkeit与Moralit?t的方式翻译康德文本,会导致与这一区分预设的立场相悖的结论。故严格区分的理由并不成立。
