In this work, a cavity-integrated structure coupled to the SNSPD is used to enhance the light absorption of nanowire. Ultra-thin Nb films are successfully prepared by magnetron sputtering, which are used to fabricate Nb/Al SNSPD with the curve of lOOnm and the square area of 4 × 4μm2 by sputtering and the lift-off method. Conditional on no photon leakage from the cavity, the N-qubit W state can be prepared perfectly by turning on a classical coupling field for an appropriate time. Compared with the previous ones, our scheme requires neither individual laser addressing of the atoms, nor demand for controlling N atoms to go through an optical cavity simultaneously with a constant velocity. We investigate the influence of cavity decay using the quantum jump approach and show that the preparation time decreases and the success probability increases with atom number because of a collective enhancement of the coupling.展开更多

It occurs when the noise interacts with the system's nonlinearity, thus improving signal-to-noise ratio and increasing sensitivity. Although parametric resonances in an atomic spinor Bose-Einstein condensate have been investigated, the question of whether one can observe stochastic resonance in such a system persists. In this study we propose a scheme for generating stochastic resonance in a cavity-spinor Bose-Einstein condensate coupling system. We demonstrate stochastic resonance through numerical calculations using the mean-field theory and truncated Wigner approximation methods. Furthermore, the characteristics of the system's response to noise and periodic signals are studied in detail. This study unravels a new scheme for observing stochastic resonance via linking atomic many-body physics with cavity quantum electrodynamics.展开更多

This paper first presents a review of finesse measurement techniques, including a comparative analysis of the advantages, disadvantages, and potential limitations of several main methods from both theoretical and practical perspectives. A variant of the existing method called the free spectral range(FSR) modulation method is proposed and compared with three other finesse measurement methods, i.e., the fast-switching cavity ring-down(CRD) method, the rapidly swept-frequency(SF) CRD method, and the ringing effect method. A high-power OEC platform with a high finesse of approximately 16000 is built and measured with the four methods. The performance of these methods is compared, and the results show that the FSR modulation method and the fast-switching CRD method are more suitable and accurate than the other two methods for high-finesse OEC measurements. The CRD method and the ringing effect method can be implemented in open loop using simple equipment and are easy to perform. Additionally, recommendations for selecting finesse measurement methods under different conditions are proposed, which benefit the development of OEC and its applications.展开更多

One particularly interesting application of indefinite media is an optical cavity supporting anomalous scaling laws. In this Letter, we show that by replacing an indefinite medium with magnetized plasma one can construct a tunable indefinite cavity. The magnetized plasma model is based on realistic semiconductor material properties at terahertz frequencies that show hyperbolic dispersion in a certain frequency regime. The hyperbolic dispersion features are utilized for the design of optical cavities. Dramatically different sizes of cavities can support the same resonance mode at the same frequency. For a cavity of fixed size, the anomalous scaling law between the resonance frequency and mode number is confirmed. The resonance frequency can be strongly modulated by changing the strength of the applied magnetic field. The proposed model provides active controllability of terahertz resonances on the deep subwavelength scale with realistic semiconductor materials.展开更多

Here we present an efficient entanglement concentration protocol(ECP) for nonlocal atom systems in the partially entangled W-class states, using the single-photon input-output process regarding low-Q cavity and linear optical elements. Compared with previously published ECPs for the concentration of non-maximally entangled atomic states, our protocol is much simpler and more efficient as it employs the Faraday rotation in cavity quantum electrodynamics(QED) and the parameter-splitting method. The Faraday rotation requires the cavity with low-Q factor and weak coupling to the atom, which makes the requirement for entanglement concentration much less stringent than the previous methods, and achievable with current cavity QED techniques. The parameter-splitting method resorts to linear-optical elements only. This ECP has high efficiency and fidelity in realistic experiments, and some imperfections during the experiment can be avoided efficiently with currently available techniques.展开更多

Rev. A 58 3030]; Liu L W, Tan T and Xu Y 2008 J. Mod. Opt. 56 968; Cho J, Angelakis D G and Bose S 2008 Phys. Rev. A 78 062338. This is reflected in the deviation of the population 5, of which the value is 10^-3 - 10^-2. We further find the deviation of the dipole force and demonstrate that the deviation of atomic population will not notably affect the dipole force of the atom in the strong coupling condition. As the Cs cell temperature is kept between 118℃ and 144℃, both the 1359nm and 147Ohm lasing outputs of dual-wavelength bad cavity laser are detected. The laser output power of dual-wavelength bad cavity laser is measured when changing the 455 nm pumping laser frequency and power at 127℃ Cs cell temperature. Both the 1359 nm laser and the 1470 nm laser are working at the deep bad cavity regime, and the ratio between the linewidth of cavity mode and the laser gain bandwidth a ≈ 40 for 1359nm and 1470nm lasers. The 147Ohm laser linewidth is measured to be 407.3Hz. The dual-wavelength bad cavity laser operating on atomic transitions demonstrated here has a potential in the application as a stable optical local oscillator, even an active optical frequency standard directly in the future.

文摘The experimental scheme of 633 nm and 1359 nm good-bad cavity dual-wavelength active optical frequency stan- dard is proposed, where He-Ne 633nm and Cs 1359nm stimulated emissions are working at good-cavity and bad-cavity regimes, respectively. The cavity length is stabilized by locking the 633nm output frequency to a super-cavity with the Pound Drever-Hall (PDH) technique. The frequency stability of 1359 nm bad-cavity stim- ulated emission output is then expected to be further improved by at least 1 order of magnitude than the 633nm PDH system due to the suppressed cavity pulling effect of active optical clock, and the quantum limited linewidth of 1359nm output is estimated to be 72.5 mHz.

文摘Entanglement plays an important role in quantum information science, especially in quantum communications. This ECP has high efficiency and fidelity in realistic experiments, and some imperfections during the experiment can be avoided efficiently with currently available techniques.

文摘Beam steering in implant defined coherently coupled vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL) arrays is simulated using the FDTD solution software. Angular deflection dependent on relative phase differences among elements, inter-element spacing, element size and emitted wavelength is analyzed detailedly and systematically. We design and fabricate 1×2 implant defined VCSEL arrays for optimum beam steering performance. Electroni- cally controlled beam steering with a maximum deflection angle of 1.6° is successfully achieved in the 1 × 2 VCSEL arrays. The percentage of the power in the central lobe is above 39% when steering. The results show that the steering is controllable. Compared with other beam steering methods, the fabrication process is simple and of low cost.

文摘Using the master equation approach to a V-type three-level atom inside a high-finesse single-mode cavity in the strong coupling condition, we demonstrate the approximation of eliminating populations of atomic excited states, which is widely used in the field of the atom cavity systems [Hechenblaikner G, Gangl M, Horak P and Ritsch H 1998 Phys. A relevant experimental case is also presented.

文摘The magneto-optical Kerr effect of the HfO2/Co/HfO2/A1 multilayer structure is investigated in this work, and an ob- vious cavity enhancement of the Kerr response for the HfO2 semiconductor is found both theoretically and experimentally. Surprisingly, a maximum value of about -3 of the polar Kerr rotation for s-polarized incident light is observed in our experiment. We propose that this improvement on the Kerr effect can be attributed to the multiple reflection and optical interference in the cavity, which can also be proved by simulation using the finite element method.
