In light of the possibility of reignition when unsealing the closed fire zones, the occurrence of reignition was simulated by a home-made experimental device, hydrogen variety rule from combustion to unsealing was analyzed, the three-stage generation model of hydrogen during reignition in fire zone was put forward and the probability that hydrogen was taken as an indicator gas was discussed. The results show that: when fire zone is ready to unseal, which is filled with hydrogen at a high concentration, it is more prone to reignite. 展开更多

The effects of magnesium/polytetrafluoroethylene(Mg/PTFE)pyrotechnic compositions on the coupled flow field and reignition mechanism are important aspects governing the perfommance and range of base bleed projectiles(BBPs).Owing to a decrease in pressure and temperature when the BBP leaves the muzzle,rapid depressurization occurs,which extinguishes the base bleed propellant.The Mg/PTFE py-rotechnic composition pressed in the igniter of the base bleed unit(BBU)provides additional energy to the BBU via a chemical reaction.Thus,the extinguished base bleed propellant is reignited under the effect of high-temperature combustion gas jets from the igniter.In this study,a numerical analysis is conducted to evaluate the effects of PTFE and Mg granularity as well as Mg/PTFE pyrotechnic compo-sitions.Owing to the rapid depressurization,the temperature and pressure was found to decrease fordifferent Mg/PIFE pyrotechnic compositions.However,the depressurization time increased as the PTFE granularity increased,the Mg granularity decreased,and the Mg content increased.When the pressure in the combustion chamber of the BBU decreased to the atmospheric pressure,the combustion gas jets from the igniter expand upstream(rather than downstream).However,these combustion gas jets exhibit different axial and radial expansion characteristics depending on the pyrotechnic compositions used,The results show that the reignition delay time,ta,of the base bleed propellant was 377.608,94.27,387.243,523.966,and 221.094 ms for cases A-E,respectively.Therefore,it was concluded that the Mg/PTFE pyrotechnic composition of case B was the most beneficial for the reignition of the base bleed propellant,with the earliest addition of energy and mass to the BBP. 展开更多

In the condition of the 3 mm gap, experiments for 360 Hz intermediate-frequency vacuum arc are carried out in interrupters with the diameters being 41 mm and with the contact materials being CuCr50 and Cu-W-WC alloy respectively. The results indicate that the contacts material is closely related to the breaking capacity of the vacuum interrupters and characteristics of an intermediate-frequency vacuum arc. For contacts with the same diameter, the breaking capacity of CuCr50 is better than that of Cu-W-WC. When the current fails to be interrupted, the arcs overflow the gap and present irregular performances in the first half wave. Consequently a voltage spike appears. More macroscopic metal droplets can be seen in the arc column between CuCr50 contacts because of the lower melting point. It is observed that the droplet emission is much more severe during arc reignition than that in the first half wave. It is much more conspicuous that the high frequency arc voltage noises appear in Cu-W-WC contacts when the vacuum arcs reignite, for higher temperature and stronger electronic emission ability of Cu-W-WC contacts. 展开更多

However,the steady laminar flamelet model(SLFM) does not explicitly give this functional relationship. The present study addresses this relation in the SLFM.It is found that reaction rate is not continuous in the mixture-fraction space.As a result,the SLFM is unable to predict local extinction and reignition.Furthermore,we use the unstable branch of the'S-curve'to fill the gap between steady burning branch and extinction one,and find that this modification leads to a continuous dependent of reaction rate on temperature.Thus the modified SLFM can describe the local extinction and reignition. 展开更多
