The aim of this study was to investigate the inhibitory effect of heparin/fibronectin (Hep/Fn) complexes on neointimal hyperplasia following endovascular intervention. Hep/Fn complexes were immobilized onto titanium (Ti) surfaces, with subsequent X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Toluidine Blue 0 (TBO) and immunohistochemistry methods were used to characterize surface properties. Smooth muscle cell (SMC) cultures were used to evaluate the effect of Hep/Fn complexes on SMC proliferation. Results showed that Hep/Fn complexes successfully immobilized onto Ti surfaces and resulted in an inhibition of SMC proliferation. This study suggests that Hep/Fn surface-immobilized biomaterials develop as a new generation of biomaterials to prevent neointimal hyperplasia, particularly for use in cardiovascular implants. 展开更多

Abstract We develop a highly efficient scheme for numerically solving the three-dimensional time-dependent Schrödinger equation of the single-active-electron atom in the field of laser pulses by combining smooth exterior complex scaling(SECS)absorbing method and Arnoldi propagation method.Such combination has not been reported in the literature. The proposed scheme is particularly useful in the applications involving long-time wave propagation. The SECS is a wonderful absorber, but its application results in a non-Hermitian Hamiltonian, invalidating propagators utilizing the Hermitian symmetry of the Hamiltonian. We demonstrate that the routine Arnoldi propagator can be modified to treat the non-Hermitian Hamiltonian. The efficiency of the proposed scheme is checked by tracking the time-dependent electron wave packet in the case of both weak extreme ultraviolet(XUV)and strong infrared(IR)laser pulses. Both perfect absorption and stable propagation are observed. 展开更多

We clarify the relation between the subcategory D_(hf)~b(A) of homological finite objects in D^b(A)and the subcategory K^b(P) of perfect complexes in D^b(A), by giving two classes of abelian categories A with enough projective objects such that D_(hf)~b(A) = K^b(P), and finding an example such that D_(hf)~b(A)≠K^b(P). We realize the bounded derived category D^b(A) as a Verdier quotient of the relative derived category D_C^b(A), where C is an arbitrary resolving contravariantly finite subcategory of A. Using this relative derived categories, we get categorical resolutions of a class of bounded derived categories of module categories of infinite global dimension. We prove that if an Artin algebra A of infinite global dimension has a module T with inj.dimT <∞ such that ~⊥T is finite, then D^b(modA) admits a categorical resolution; and that for a CM(Cohen-Macaulay)-finite Gorenstein algebra, such a categorical resolution is weakly crepant. 展开更多
