The results proved that both cinnamaldehyde and benzalacetone had an evident anticorrosion effect and could reduce the corrosion of steel effectively in acid medium, α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds with a benzene ring structure had good adsorption on steel surface. The experiments proved that polymerization of α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds on the steel surface at a high temperature and in concentrated acid medium resulted in a good corrosion inhibiting effect, which was attributed to the structures of α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds.展开更多

We report a new, effective and simple method for preparing a,fl-unsaturated carbonyl compounds by reacting ketones and aromatic alcohols at 56 ℃ in the presence of CrO3 (CrO3 acts as an oxidant and also a catalyst)...We report a new, effective and simple method for preparing a,fl-unsaturated carbonyl compounds by reacting ketones and aromatic alcohols at 56 ℃ in the presence of CrO3 (CrO3 acts as an oxidant and also a catalyst) for around 10 h. The condensation reactions occurred effectively among a wide combination of ketones and alcohols. The procedure is simple and the yields can be high up to 98%. Selective hydrogenation of the carbonyl bond inα,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds is rather challenging owing to the more feasible hydrogenation of ethylenic bond from both thermodynamic and kinetic aspects.Here,we ...Selective hydrogenation of the carbonyl bond inα,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds is rather challenging owing to the more feasible hydrogenation of ethylenic bond from both thermodynamic and kinetic aspects.Here,we demonstrate a facile emulsionbased molecule-nanoparticle self-assembly strategy for the atomic engineering of Ir species on three-dimensional CeO_(2)spheres(Ir1@CeO_(2)).When applied to the hydrogenation ofα,β-unsaturated aldehydes,Ir1@CeO_(2)catalyst remarkably exhibited~100%selectivity towards unsaturated alcohols,whereas the formation of Ir nanoparticles on CeO_(2)drastically decreased the selectivity for unsaturated alcohols.Spectroscopic studies revealed that strong metal-support interactions triggered the charge transfer from Ir to CeO_(2),leading to the partial reduction of Ce^(4+)to Ce^(3+)along with the formation new Ir^(δ+)-O_(2)--Ce^(3+)(OV)interfaces.The electrophilic atomic Ir species at the Ir^(δ+)-O_(2)--Ce^(3+)(OV)interfaces would therefore preferentially adsorb and facilitate hydrogenation of polar C=O bond to achieve exceptional selectivity.展开更多

One-sixth of the currently known natural products containα,β-unsaturated carbonyl groups.Our previous studies reported a rare C-sulfonate metabolic pathway.Sulfonate groups were linked to theβ-carbon ofα,β-unsatu...One-sixth of the currently known natural products containα,β-unsaturated carbonyl groups.Our previous studies reported a rare C-sulfonate metabolic pathway.Sulfonate groups were linked to theβ-carbon ofα,β-unsaturated carbonyl-based natural compounds through this pathway.However,the mechanism of this type of metabolism is still not fully understood,especially whether it is formed through enzyme-mediated biotransformation or direct sulfite addition.In this work,the enzyme-mediated and non-enzymatic pathways were studied.First,the sulfite content in rat intestine was determined by LC-MS/MS.The results showed that the amount of sulfite in rat intestinal contents was from 41.5 to 383μg·g^(-1),whereas the amount of sulfite in rat feed was lower than the lower limit of quantitation(20μg·g^(-1)).Second,the reaction kinetics of sulfite-andrographolide reactions in phosphate buffer solutions(pH 6-8)was studied.The half-lives of andrographolide ranged from minutes to hours.This was suggested that the C-sulfonate reaction of andrographolide was very fast.Third,the C-sulfonate metabolites of andrographolide were both detected when andrographolide and L-cysteine-S-conjugate andrographolide were incubated with the rat small intestine contents or sulfite,indicating that the sulfite amount in rat intestine contents was high enough to react with andrographolide,which assisted a significant portion of andrographolide metabolism.Finally,the comparison of andrographolide metabolite profiles among liver homogenate(with NADPH),liver S9(with NADPH),small intestine contents homogenate(with no NADPH),and sulfite solution incubations showed that the C-sulfonate metabolites were predominantly generated in the intestinal tract by non-enzymatic pathway.In summary,sulfite can serve as a substrate for C-sulfonate metabolism,and these results identified non-enzymatically nucleophilic addition as the potential mechanism for C-sulfonate metabolism of compounds containingα,β-unsaturated carbonyl moiety.展开更多
Emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and carbonyls from residential coal combustion of five coals with different maturities were studied in a simulated room.The coals were burned in form of honeycomb briqu...Emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and carbonyls from residential coal combustion of five coals with different maturities were studied in a simulated room.The coals were burned in form of honeycomb briquettes in a domestic coal stove,one of the most common fuel/stove combinations in China.Through a dilution system,VOCs and carbonyls samples were collected by canisters and silica-gel cartridges and analyzed by gas chromatography and mass spectrum (GC/MS) and high performance liquid chromatography/ultraviolet (HPLC/UV),respectively.The results show that the bituminous coals with medium volatile matter content produce the highest emissions while the anthracite yields the lowest.Among the identified carbonyls from the coal smoke,the aromatic compounds (benzaldehyde,2,5-dimethylbenzaldehyde and p-tolualdehyde,m/o-tolualdehyde,benzene,m,p-xylene and trimethyl-benzene) were relatively abundant,which might be due to the molecular structure of the coal.For formaldehyde,aromatic carbonyls and aliphatic alkanes,their concentrations increase up to the maximum values and then decrease with increasing coal maturity.The total carbonyls and VOCs have the same tendency,which was observed for the emission factors of organic carbon (OC),elemental carbon (EC),particulate matter (PM) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) detected in the series study.展开更多
