Plugging agent treatment and acid stimulation have completely different mechanisms for improving injection profiles. In this paper, a hybrid procedure is introduced to reduce the damage of the plugging agent to low and medium permeability zones and the penetration radius of acid into high permeability zones. The procedure is: First inject plugging agent to block high permeability zones, and then inject acid to remove plugging agent damage from the low and medium permeability zones and stimulate them. To perform this procedure successfully, three kinds of plugging agents, namely strong strength plugging agent for the wells with fractures or high permeability streaks, weak gel for those with thick layer in which serious heterogeneity exists, temporary plugging agent for those in which the absorption ability of high permeability zones needs maintaining, were screened out for use in different reservoirs. Several acid systems were evaluated to be compatible with the three kinds of plugging agents. The objectives of this paper are:(1)To show the screen results about the compatible plugging agent and acid; 2 To show how to optimize the operation process;(3)To tell some experience gained ( ) from the oilfield applications of this technique. From Jan. 2001 to Dec. 2002, 46 operations using this procedure were carried out in Weicheng and Mazhai Oilfields of SINOPEC. Results show that the average benefit/cost ratio is over 3.5. Experience acquired from these applications was summarized in the paper. 展开更多

Osteoarthritis(OA)is a complex"whole joint"disease pursued by inflammatory mediators, rather than purely a process of"wear and tear".Besides cartilage degradation, synovitis, subchondral bone remodeling, degeneration of ligaments and menisci, and hypertrophy of the joint capsule take parts in the pathogenesis.Pain is the hallmark symptom of OA,but the extent to which structural pathology in OA contributes to the pain experience is still not well known. For the knee OA,intraarticular(IA)injection(corticosteroids,viscosupplements,blood-derived products)is preferred as the last nonoperative modality,if the other conservative treatment modalities are ineffective.IA corticosteroid injections provide short term reduction in OA pain and can be considered as an adjunct to core treatment for the relief of moderate to severe pain in people with OA.IA hyaluronic acid(HA)injections might have efficacy and might provide pain reduction in mild OA of knee up to 24 wk.But for HA injections, the costeffectiveness is an important concern that patients must be informed about the efficacy of these preparations.Although more high-quality evidence is needed, recent studies indicate that IA platelet rich plasma injections are promising for relieving pain, improving knee function and quality of life, especially in younger patients, and in mild OA cases. The current literature and our experience indicate that IA injections are safe and have positive effects for patient satisfaction. But,there is no data that any of the IA injections will cause osteophytes to regress or cartilage and meniscus to regenerate in patients with substantial and irreversible bone and cartilage damage. 展开更多

Despite its unique high efficiency and good environmental compatibility, the water-soluble binder system still encounters problems achieving a desired sintered part via ceramic injection molding because of the poor compatibility and the powder-binder segregation between ceramic powders and binders. The objective of this study was to obtain a sintered part with excellent properties by introducing a small quantity of oleic acid to the surface of zirconia powders before the mixing process. As opposed to many previous investigations that focused only on the rheological behavior and modification mechanism, the sintering behavior and densification process were systematically investigated in this study. With the modified powders, debound parts with a more homogeneous and smaller pore size distribution were fabricated. Also, a higher density and greater flexural strength were achieved in the sintered parts fabricated using the modified powders. 展开更多

Objective: To observe and elucidate the neuroprotective effect of Xingnaojing (XNJ) injection on hippocampal N-methyl-D-aspartic acid (NMDA) receptors of focal cerebral ischemia in rats. Methods: Cerebral ischemia was established by occluding the middle cerebral artery with an intraluminal suture technique in rats. Neurological deficit score, infarct volume and quantity of NMDA receptors were estimated in all groups and compared. Results: After being treated with XNJ, the score decreased in the initial 6 hours and infarct volume decreased in 24 hours. And within 24 hours, the quantity of NMDA receptors obviously decreased compared with the model group (P<0. 01) It indicated that XNJ could ameliorate neurological behavior of middle cerebral artery occlusion rats and down-regulate the expression of hippocampal NMDA receptors. Conclusion: The neuroprotective effect of XNJ on focal cerebral ischemia is possibly related to down-regulating the expression of NMDA receptors in rats. 展开更多

A flow injection irreversible biamperometric method for the determination of chlorogenic acid is described. The proposed method is based on the electrochemical oxidation of chlorogenic acid at pretreated platinum electrode and the reduction of permanganate at another electrode to form an irreversible biamperometric detection system. Under the external potential difference (z^v) of 0 V, in the 0.05 mol/L sulfuric acid, chlorogenic acid can be determined over the range 0.8-120 mg/L with a sample measurement frequency of 80 samples/h. The detection limit is 0.18 mg/L. The proposed method exhibits the satisfactory reproducibility with a relative standard derivation (R.S.D.) of 2.21% for 19 successive determinations of 40 mg/L. 展开更多

A simple and sensitive flow injection(FI) spectrophotometric method was reported for the determination of uric acid based on the reduction of Fe(III)/ferricyanide in the presence of uric acid. The in situ reduced ions reacted with unreduced portion of ferricyanide/Fe(III) to form soluble Prussian blue, which was monitored at an absorption wavelength of 735 nm. The optimized conditions allow a linear calibration graph in a concentration range of 1―100 μmol/L. The relative standard deviation was in a range of 0.5%―2.5%, with a detection limit(3σ blank) of 0.3 μmol/L and a sampling frequency of 60 injection/h was obtained. The effect of common substances present in human physiological fluids on the determination of uric acid was examined. The method was applied to determining uric acid in human urine samples with the recoveries in a range of 96%―105%. The results agree well with those by spectrophotometric reference method at a confidence level of 95%. Spectrophotometric procedures for uric acid determination in clinical samples were reviewed briefly. 展开更多

The purpose of this study was to establish a high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method for the simultaneous determination of sodium danshensu, protocatechuic aldehyde, rosmarinic acid, salvianolic acid B, and 4-coumaric acid in Danhong injection. The chromatographic method employed was as follows: the column was a Welch Ultimate XB-C18 column (250 mm × 4.6 mm, 10 μm), the mobile phase was a gradient elution of 0.4% formic acid aqueous solution (A) and acetonitrile (B), the detection wavelengths were 280 nm for sodium danshensu, protocatechuic aldehyde, and salvianolic acid B and 326 nm for 4-coumaric acid and rosmarinic acid, the sample volume was 10 μL, the flow rate was 1.0 mL/min, and the column temperature was 35°C. This method can realize the separation and determination of sodium danshensu, protocatechuic aldehyde, rosmarinic acid, salvianolic acid B, and 4-coumaric acid within 50 minutes. The linear relationships of the five peak areas and their concentrations are good (R2> 0.9997). The precision RSD values are all less than 1.0%. The reproducibility RSD values are all less than 1.3%. The stability RSD values are all less than 2.2%. The recovery values ranged from 92.4% to 99.4%. This method is simple, accurate, and reproducible. It can be used for the determination of sodium danshensu, protocatechuic aldehyde, rosmarinic acid, salvianolic acid B, and 4-coumaric acid in Danhong injection. 展开更多

An adsorbent calix[4]arene carboxylic acid was employed as the adsorption material for on-line flow in jection(FI) micro-column preconcentration coupled with flame atomic absorption spectrometry(FAAS) determination of trace heavy metals(Cu, Pb, Co, Ni and Cd). Parameters such as the pH, loading time and flow rate of sample, and the concentration, volume and flow rate of eluent were optimized. The enrichment factors are 50.0, 56.5, 11.6, 12.1 and 19.1 for Cu, Pb, Co, Ni, and Cd, respectively, and a sample throughput of 20 h–1 was obtained. The limits of de tection for Cu, Pb, Co, Ni, and Cd were in a range of 1.56―3.91 μg/L, and the relative standard deviations(RSDs) were less than 2.76%(n=7). Furthermore, the proposed method was successfully applied to the determination of Cu, Pb, Co, Ni, and Cd in certified reference materials and various water samples. 展开更多

High-resolution ultrasound (HRU) imaging is a useful tool to study hyaluronic acid (HA) filler injection in the face. It is noninvasive, quick, well-tolerated, and can provide in vivo and dynamic information. The formations of pools or pearls in HA fillers could be observed real time during injection. The plane of injection could be determined accurately, and there were no specimen manipulation artifacts. It was observed that HA gel fillers with differing production technologies showed distinct spread and distribution patterns in the periocular tissues on HRU examination. The authors used HRU to assess deep injections of CHAP-Hyaluronic Acid (CHAP-HA) fillers for midface lift. 10 patients who underwent bilateral midface deep injections using CHAP-HA filler were examined with HRU before and immediately after treatment, and in 2 weeks and one month later. The CHAP-HA appeared as hypoechoic densities within the preperiosteal plane in HRU. CHAP-HA adopted variable morphology within the tissue depending on individual tissue densities and the compliance of the tissues in the plane of injection. CHAP-HA was unidentifiable with surrounding tissue after one month in 13 of the 20 injection sites. HRU allows in vivo study of CHAP-HA injection behavior and could be a tool for further studies of HA-tissue reactions. 展开更多

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide, and adjuvant radiotherapy (RT) followingtumor removal is one of the most commonly used treatments for breast cancer. However, the high risk of tumorrecurrence and inevitable radiation skin injury after RT remain fatal problems, seriously challenging the patient’spostoperative rehabilitation. Herein, a multifunctional poly (lipoic acid)-based hydrogel is constructed throughone-step heating the mixture of α-lipoic acid (LA)/arginine (Arg)/silk fibroin (SF), without introducing any nonnaturalmolecules. The multiple synergistic interactions among LA, Arg, and SF not only enhance the solubilizationof LA in aqueous systems but also stabilize poly(lipoic acid) through strong salt bridge hydrogen bondsand ionic hydrogen bonds. Intriguingly, the LA-based surfactant induced β-sheet transformation of SF can furthermodulate the bulk strength of the hydrogel. Regulating the content of LA in hydrogels not only allows efficientcontrol of hydrogel bioactivity but also enables the evolution of hydrogels from injectable forms to adhesivepatches. Based on the different biological activities and forms of hydrogels, they can be implanted internally orapplied externally on the mice’s skin, achieving simultaneous prevention of tumor recurrence post-surgery andassistance in treating radiation-induced skin damage after radiotherapy. 展开更多

Osseous and fat atrophy with aging may further contribute to the loss of soft tissue support and midface ptosis. In the aging of periorbital area and midface, fat atrophy occurs mostly in the suborbicularis oculi fat (SOOF) area. The authors proposed that injection of hyaluronic acid (HA) filler to support the SOOF area could counteract the aging sign due to fat atrophy, restore volume loss and achieve a more youthful appearance. The authors described the treatment of 10 female patients who received CHAP&reg-particle hyaluronic acid (CHAP&reg-HA) injections for cheek augmentation, using single-point deep injection technique at midface in close proximity to SOOF area. Such approach provides satisfactory cheek augmentation results without significant complications. The authors discussed a rationale for their choice of dermal filler and provided an injection technique for restoring volume in the midface region with CHAP&reg-HA. Such technique is relatively quick to perform, have little down time, and result in a high rate of patient satisfaction. 展开更多

Previously, we developed a novel siRNA transfer method to the liver by sequential intravenous injection of poly-L-glutamic acid (PGA) and cationic liposome/siRNA complex (cationic lipoplex). In this study, we examined the effects of the charge ratio (+/-) of cationic liposome/siRNA, molecular weight of PGA and cationic lipid of cationic liposome on the biodistribution of siRNA after sequential injection of PGA plus cationic lipoplex. When 1,2-dioleoyl-3-trimethylammonium-propane (DOTAP)/cholesterol (Chol) lipoplex was intravenously injected into mice, the accumulation of siRNA was mainly observed in the lungs. In contrast, when DOTAP/Chol lipoplex was intravenously injected at 1 min after intravenous injection of PGA, siRNA was largely accumulated in the liver. The charge ratio (+/-) of DOTAP/Chol liposome/siRNA did not affect the biodistribution of siRNA after sequential injection. As regards the molecular weight of PGA, the accumulation of siRNA was observed mainly in the liver after the sequential injection of PGA of 20.5, 38, 64 or 200 kDa plus DOTAP/Chol lipoplex. Furthermore, to examine the effect of cationic lipid of cationic liposome on the biodistribution of siRNA, we prepared other cationic liposomes composed of 1,2-di-O-octadecenyl-3-trimethylammonium propane chloride (DOTMA)/Chol, dimethyldioctade-cylammonium bromide (DDAB)/Chol and O,O’-ditetradecanoyl-N-(α-trimethylammonioacetyl)di-ethanolamine chloride (DC-6-14)/Chol. For the cationic liposomes, the accumulation of siRNA was observed mainly in the liver when their cationic lipoplexes were sequentially injected after injection of PGA into mice. From these findings, sequential injection of PGA plus cationic lipoplex could deliver siRNA efficiently into the liver regardless of the charge ratio (+/-) of lipoplex, lengths of PGA and cationic lipid of liposome. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Facial cosmetic procedures become popular for people with a desire to have a younger appearance, and cosmetic technology has developed rapidly over the past several decades. However, increasing complications related to cosmetic injections have been reported, and infection is one of the most serious problems and can cause anxiety and facial injury. We here report a case of Majocchi’s granuloma(MG)caused by Trichophyton rubrum after facial injection of hyaluronic acid.CASE SUMMARY A 37-year-old woman presented to our hospital with a history of red papules, nodules, and abscesses on her left zygomatic arch for 2 mo.She had received a cosmetic injection of hyaluronic acid on the left side of her face prior to the appearance of the lesions.MG caused by Trichophyton rubrum after facial injection of hyaluronic acid was diagnosed based on morphology and molecular biological identification. In vitro antifungal susceptibility testing was conducted according to the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute M38-A2 method.Minimal inhibitory concentrations were used to evaluate the antifungal susceptibility. The antifungal agents and their minimal inhibitory concentrations for the strain were terbinafine(<0.5μg/mL),itraconazole(0.06μg/mL),amphotericin B(0.25μg/mL),fluconazole(32μg/mL),voriconazole(0.125μg/mL),posaconazole(0.125μg/mL),and isavuconazole(0.06μg/mL).We initially administered 250 mg/d oral terbinafine for 2 mo,but the patient still had painful papules, nodules and abscesses on her face. Then,we adjusted the treatment to itraconazole 400 mg/d for 8 wk based on the in vitro antifungal susceptibility testing results. The skin lesions improved significantly, and there was no recurrence during follow-up.CONCLUSION This case revealed that facial injection of hyaluronic acid may cause serious MG.Antifungal susceptibility testing should be considered in the treatment of MG caused by Trichophyton rubrum. 展开更多

Polar acrylic monomers show low abundance by gas chromatography. Because of this, a home-made pyrolysis liquid chromatographic injector by means of cryogenic-focussing is developed to determine the presence and concentration of hydroxyl and carboxyl functional monomers present in water- and solvent-borne acrylics. We have shown the prove-of-principle of using cryogenic-focussing for UPLC (pyrolysis-ultra-performance liquid chromatography) injection. 展开更多

Post-stroke depression (PSD) is one of the most common affective disorders after acute cerebrovascular injury. It significantly increases the mortality, disability rate and recurrence rate of stroke, which places a heavy burden on families and society. The etiology of PSD is not yet clear, involving a series of complex mechanisms. Inflammatory response, apoptosis, neurotrophic factors, neurotransmitters and many others may play important roles, and there is no effective treatment. Salvianolic acid for injection (SAFI) has the functions of anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidative stress, anti-apoptotic and can improve depressive behavior. It is expected to become a new antidepressant for the treatment of PSD. 展开更多
