It combines cognitive restructuring of core trauma-related dysfunctional beliefs and mental imagery. The effectiveness of CRIM-PTSD has recently been demonstrated in a pilot study. Method: This article presents a step-by-step description of the administration of CRIM-PTSD in a female survivor of childhood sexual abuse (CSA) suffering from PTSD and major depressive disorder related to strong self-blame. Results: The intervention showed substantial reductions in PTSD symptoms and depression in the patient comparable to those observed in the pilot study. Conclusions: CRIM-PTSD might provide an economical tool for reducing PTSD symptoms when only a short time is available for intervention. Furthermore, this tool could be included in well-established PTSD treatments. In addition to the pilot study, a randomized controlled trial is needed to further explore the feasibility and effectiveness of this short intervention.展开更多

Little is known, however, about the role of different aspects of the self in this relationship. We explored the mediating role of interferences of symptom with the self-concept in the association of menstrual symptom attitudes and depressive mood. Methods: Eighty-one women completed an online survey on menstrual symptom attitudes, perceived interferences of symptoms with various self-aspects and negative mood states. We tested our hypothesis in a mediation analysis. Results: We found a complete mediation of the relationship of symptom attitudes and depressive mood by interferences of symptoms with self-aspects. However, interferences with self-aspects did not play a role in the association of anxious mood and symptom report. Conclusion: The self-concept should receive greater attention in research on symptom attitudes and psychological well-being. This would be particularly important in research on medically unexplained symptom report.展开更多

Evidence indicates that exercise leads to an enhancement in physical self-concept and physical self-esteem. Until now however, it remained unclear whether the beneficial effects of exercise were impacted by different types of exercise environments. Thus, the purpose of this study was to experimentally investigate, whether the presence or absence of an instructor or other group members influenced elder adults’ physical self-concept and esteem. Method: Participants were 46 women and 20 men (Mean age 65.4, SD = 4.36) who were randomly assigned to one of four experimental groups differing across two factors—group versus no-group and instructor versus no-instructor. Participants took part in an 8-week-walking program with a comparable number of training sessions across the four experimental groups. Physical self-concept and physical self-esteem were assessed both pre and post exercise intervention. Results: Descriptively, the highest improvement in physical self-concept and esteem were observed in the instructor/no-group and the no-instructor/group condition. Between these two conditions, no significant difference of change was observed. Moreover, no improvement was observed when both instructor and group were present. Conclusion: Effects of either instructor presence or group presence may be explained by mechanisms of social integration and social support. An unexpected absence of effects on self-concept and esteem under the instructor/group condition are explained with reference to an individual’s cognitive dissonance caused by the need to adapt to different exercise oriented goals or attitudes of the instructor and the group members which might hinder the positive development of the self.展开更多

The aim of this concept analysis was to clarify what is meant by family functioning in the context of diabetes self-management by assessing specific attributes, antecedents, and consequences. A concept analysis model by Walker and Avant was applied. The identified attributes of family functioning in a diabetes self-management context included problem-solving, communication, roles, affective responsiveness, affective involvement, and behavioral control. Antecedents included family structure, socioeconomic status, family functioning relationships, family stage, and life events. Consequences included family satisfaction, family cohesion, and family relationships. This analysis provided a deeper understanding of a family functioning concept within a diabetes self-management context. It is recommended that health care providers should be aware of antecedent factors that could inhibit outcome improvement. Further research is needed to explain family functioning attributes in relation to antecedents and potential consequences.展开更多

In this study we estimated the modifying effect of the quality of object relations on the effect of solution-focused therapy (SFT) and shortand long-term psychodynamic psychotherapy (SPP and LPP) on self-concept. A total of 326 patients were assessed at baseline with the Quality of Object Relations Scale (QORS) and 4 times during a 3-year follow-up with the Structural Analysis of Social Behavior self-concept questionnaire, comprising altogether 10 scores on different aspects of self-concept pathology. The effectiveness of SFT, but not SPP, was significantly poorer in several domains (5/10) of self-concept for patients with low QORS, i.e. those with less mature relational patterns, than for patients with high QORS, while the reversal occurred in some (3/10) self-concept domains in LPP. The results suggest that the quality of object relations has significance for treatment selection in therapies with different mode and length.展开更多

文摘It is a fact of history that the African continent had experienced enslavement and colonialism which, unfortunately, led to the uprootedness of the being of the African.Consequently, one of the great tasks which faced the post-independent African was to come to terms with his selfhood,to construct the truth of his world. This largely helped in forming both the personal identity and the narrative identity of the African personality. This paper critically inquires into how this narrative identity that issued forth from the quest for the establishment of his being or selfhood(or individuality)helps in defining the collective identity of the African as a social being or self. One crucial question before this paper is whether the self loses his selfhood as an African in the collectivity or communalism of the African culture(way of life)together with his freedom and autonomy(of the individual),which are the essential and transcendental qualities of man.Through critical analytic and hermeneutic methods, this paper found out that the African metaphysics of reality or worldview almost sacrifices the freedom and autonomy of the self(as an individual)at the altar of the community, which constitutes its greatest pitfall. Thus,it is a considered conclusion of this paper that the concept of African personality(person or identity)as a social-self appears to ignore certain values that are clearly cherished by individuals practically in all cultures.

文摘Thermoelectric power generators have attracted increasing interest in recent years owing to their great potential in wearable electronics power supply. It is noted that thermoelectric power generators are easy to damage in the dynamic service process, resulting in the formation of microcracks and performance degradation.Herein,we prepare a new hybrid hydrogel thermoelectric material PAAc/XG/Bi_(2)Se_(0.3)Te_(2.7)by an in situ polymerization method, which shows a high stretchable and self-healable performance,as well as a good thermoelectric performance. For the sample with Bi_(2)Se_(0.3)Te_(2.7)content of 1.5 wt%(i.e.,PAAc/XG/Bi2Se0.3Te27(1.5 wt%)),which has a room temperature Seebeck coefficient of-0.45 mV K^(-1),and exhibits an open-circuit voltage of-17.91 mV and output power of 38.1 nW at a temperature difference of 40 K.After being completely cut off,the hybrid thermoelectric hydrogel automatically recovers its electrical characteristics within a response time of 2.0 s,and the healed hydrogel remains more than 99%of its initial power output.Such stretchable and self-healable hybrid hydrogel thermoelectric materials show promising potential for application in dynamic service conditions, such as wearable electronics.
文摘Objectives:Effective facilitation is crucial to improve critical care outcomes in life-threatening conditions through improved teamwork,caring,decision-making,and problem-solving.The meaning of facilitation remains unprecise in a critical care context despite its frequent usage in nursing education and clinical practice. This study aimed to report a thorough concept analysis to clarify the meaning of facilitation in the critical care context by formulating attributes, antecedents, and consequences and providing model cases related to facilitation. Methods:This analysis was performed by searching online sources published from 1999 to 2023.EBSCOhost,CINAHL,PubMed,and Google Scholar databases were searched using online search engines. The analysis also included the manual search of books, thesaurus and dictionaries that showed relevance to facilitation.Walker and Avant’s eight-step approach was applied to explore and analyze the meaning of facilitation in critical care units. Results:A total of 68 articles were included in the analysis of this study.Eleven attributes, six antecedents, and seven consequences related to facilitation were formulated. The attributes included dynamic, interactive processes, creating a positive environment, mobilizing resources, assistance, studentcentered, shared goals, collaboration, engagement, participation, and feedback.Antecedents were facilitator qualities, motivation,a positive learning environment,student-facilitator relationship, time availability, and specified learning outcomes. The consequences of facilitation were identified as follows:change, professional development, competency, quality development, increased job satisfaction, staff retention, and self-confidence.Conclusions:The findings from the analysis indicated that effective facilitation results in nurses and critical care staff developing competency, caring, critical thinking, and independence. Therefore, clinical outcomes in critical care environments are improved through teamwork,decision-making,and problemsolving in life-threatening situations.

文摘Various deep learning models have been proposed for the accurate assisted diagnosis of early-stage Alzheimer’s disease(AD).Most studies predominantly employ Convolutional Neural Networks(CNNs),which focus solely on local features, thus encountering difficulties in handling global features. In contrast to natural images,Structural Magnetic Resonance Imaging(sMRI)images exhibit a higher number of channel dimensions. However, during the Position Embedding stage ofMulti Head Self Attention(MHSA),the coded information related to the channel dimension is disregarded. To tackle these issues,we propose theRepBoTNet-CESA network,an advanced AD-aided diagnostic model that is capable of learning local and global features simultaneously. It combines the advantages of CNN networks in capturing local information and Transformer networks in integrating global information, reducing computational costs while achieving excellent classification performance. Moreover,it uses the Cubic Embedding Self Attention(CESA)proposed in this paper to incorporate the channel code information, enhancing the classification performance within the Transformer structure. Finally, the RepBoTNet-CESA performs well in various AD-aided diagnosis tasks, with an accuracy of 96.58%,precision of 97.26%,and recall of 96.23%in the AD/NC task;an accuracy of 92.75%,precision of 92.84%,and recall of 93.18%in the EMCI/NC task;and an accuracy of 80.97%,precision of 83.86%,and recall of 80.91%in the AD/EMCI/LMCI/NC task. This demonstrates that RepBoTNet-CESA delivers outstanding outcomes in various AD-aided diagnostic tasks.Furthermore, our study has shown that MHSA exhibits superior performance compared to conventional attention mechanisms in enhancing ResNet performance.Besides, the Deeper RepBoTNet-CESA network fails to make further progress in AD-aided diagnostic tasks.

文摘Three-way concept analysis is an important tool for information processing, and rule acquisition is one of the research hotspots of three-way concept analysis. However, compared with three-way concept lattices,three-way semi-concept lattices have three-way operators with weaker constraints, which can generate more concepts. In this article, the problem of rule acquisition for three-way semi-concept lattices is discussed in general. The authors construct the finer relation of three-way semi-concept lattices, and propose a method of rule acquisition for three-way semi-concept lattices. The authors also discuss the set of decision rules and the relationships of decision rules among object-induced three-way semi-concept lattices,object-induced three-way concept lattices, classical concept lattices and semi-concept lattices. Finally, examples are provided to illustrate the validity of our conclusions.
