In this study, the maxillofacial tumors were subjected to a mimic operation on a computer following CT scanning and 3-dimen-sional reconstruction. The data similar to those of real operation were obtained,which could be used for developing operative plans. As compared with data on the basis of conditions in the real operation, computerized mimic operation reflected the real conditions during operation. Computerized mimic operation is valuable for the preoperative planning and the prediction of probable intraoperative events.展开更多
In recent years,an increasing number of application services are deployed in the cloud.However,the cloud platform faces unknown security threats brought by its unknown vulnerabilities and backdoors.Many researchers ha...In recent years,an increasing number of application services are deployed in the cloud.However,the cloud platform faces unknown security threats brought by its unknown vulnerabilities and backdoors.Many researchers have studied the Cyber Mimic Defense(CMD)technologies of the cloud services.However,there is a shortage of tools that enable researchers to evaluate their newly proposed cloud service CMD mechanisms,such as scheduling and decision mechanisms.To fill this gap,we propose MimicCloudSim as a mimic cloud service simulation system based on the basic functionalities of CloudSim.MimicCloudSim supports the simulation of dynamic heterogeneous redundancy(DHR)structure which is the core architecture of CMD technology,and provides an extensible interface to help researchers implement new scheduling and decision mechanisms.In this paper,we firstly describes the architecture and implementation of MimicCloudSim,and then discusses the simulation process.Finally,we demonstrate the capabilities of MimicCloudSim by using a decision mechanism.In addition,we tested the performance of MimicCloudSim,the conclusion shows that MimicCloudSim is highly scalable.展开更多
Red blood cells(RBCs)have recently emerged as promosing candidates for cancer treatment in terms of relieving tumor hypoxia and inducing oxidative damage against cancer cells,but they are still far from satisfactory d...Red blood cells(RBCs)have recently emerged as promosing candidates for cancer treatment in terms of relieving tumor hypoxia and inducing oxidative damage against cancer cells,but they are still far from satisfactory due to their limited oxygen transport and reactive oxygen species generation rate in tumor tissue.Herein,artificial RBCs(designated FTP@RBCM)with radical storm production ability were developed for oncotherapy through multidimensional reactivity pathways of Fe-protoporphyrin-based hybrid metal-organic frameworks(FTPs,as the core),including photodynamic/chemodynamic-like,catalase-like and glutathione peroxidase-like activities.Meanwhile,owing to the advantages of long circulation abilities of RBCs provided by their cell membranes(RBCMs),FTP with a surface coated with RBCMs(FTP@RBCM)could enormously accumulate at tumor site to achieve remarkably enhanced therapeutic efficiency.Intriguingly,this ROS-mediated dynamic therapy was demonstrated to induce acute local inflammation and high immunogenic cancer death,which evoked a systemic antitumor immune response when combined with the newly identified T cell immunoglobulin and mucin-containing molecule 3(Tim-3)checkpoint blockade,leading to not only effective elimination of primary tumors but also an abscopal effect of growth suppression of distant tumors.Therefore,such RBC-mimic nanocatalysts with multidimensional catalytic capacities might provide a promising new insight into synergistic cancer treatment.展开更多

London, one of the most popular settings in literature, is portrayed in many literary works not only as the centre of power, dreams, expectations, and fears, but also as the city of plurality and multiplicity of cultu...London, one of the most popular settings in literature, is portrayed in many literary works not only as the centre of power, dreams, expectations, and fears, but also as the city of plurality and multiplicity of cultures. Considering V. S. Naipaul's The Mimic Men (1967) in terms of the depiction of London, what comes to the fore is that Naipaul's own background has an undeniable impact upon his illustration of London. Naipaul, as an in-between individual belonging to his hometown Trinidad and also to England, where he received his education, has experienced a metaphorical colonization due to his inner conflicts because of his hybridity. In this sense, in The Mimic Men, he creates his character Ralph Singh, who is struggling with the social and political forces and trying to find a place not only in his own country on the Caribbean Island of Isabella, but also among the English in London as a politician. In the novel, London is regarded as the city of freedom and hopes as well as the city of disillusionments and hopelessness. Therefore, in this paper, hybridity, otherness in London, and the influence of Naipaul's own biography upon his portrayal of London in The Mimic Men will be explored.展开更多
Lesion mimic often exhibits leaf disease-like symptoms even in the absence of pathogen infection,and is characterized by a hypersensitive-response(HR)that closely linked to plant disease resistance.Despite this,only a...Lesion mimic often exhibits leaf disease-like symptoms even in the absence of pathogen infection,and is characterized by a hypersensitive-response(HR)that closely linked to plant disease resistance.Despite this,only a few lesion mimic genes have been identified in wheat.In this investigation,a lesion mimic wheat mutant named je0297 was discovered,showing no alteration in yield components when compared to the wild type(WT).Segregation ratio analysis of the F_(2)individuals resulting from the cross between the WT and the mutant revealed that the lesion mimic was governed by a single recessive gene in je0297.Using Bulked segregant analysis(BSA)and exome capture sequencing,we mapped the lesion mimic gene designated as lm6 to chromosome 6BL.Further gene fine mapping using 3315 F_(2)individuals delimited the lm6 within a 1.18 Mb region.Within this region,we identified 16 high-confidence genes,with only two displaying mutations in je0297.Notably,one of the two genes,responsible for encoding flavonol synthase,exhibited altered expression levels.Subsequent phenotype analysis of TILLING mutants confirmed that the gene encoding flavonol synthase was indeed the causal gene for lm6.Transcriptome sequencing analysis revealed that the DEGs between the WT and mutant were significantly enriched in KEGG pathways related to flavonoid biosynthesis,including flavone and flavonol biosynthesis,isoflavonoid biosynthesis,and flavonoid biosynthesis pathways.Furthermore,more than 30 pathogen infection-related(PR)genes exhibited upregulation in the mutant.Corresponding to this expression pattern,the flavonoid content in je0297 showed a significant decrease in the 4^(th)leaf,accompanied by a notable accumulation of reactive oxygen,which likely contributed to the development of lesion mimic in the mutant.This investigation enhances our comprehension of cell death signaling pathways and provides a valuable gene resource for the breeding of disease-resistant wheat.展开更多

Case Report: We report the case of a 69-year-old female...Objective: The authors report an extremely rare case of stroke-mimicking, spontaneous cervical epidural hematoma treated with tissue plasminogen activator (TPA). Case Report: We report the case of a 69-year-old female presenting with left-sided hemiparesis of the arm and leg. She was administered by TPA because she was thought to have an ischemic stroke and intracranial CT showed no hemorrhage. However, her neurological condition continued to decline, and MRI of her cervical spine revealed a large spontaneous epidural hematoma. Subsequently, the patient underwent emergency surgery. Conclusions: TPA administration to spinal epidural hematoma (SEH) patients is dangerous. Because cervical epidural hematomas can mimic stroke, the attending medical staff needs to exercise vigilance in diagnosis. In addition to the head, the spine should also be scanned prior to TPA administration.展开更多
