The total number of publications was 2 052 from 1870-2001. Two peaks in the number of publications occurred during 1950-1965 and 1978-2001, respectively. In 2 052 publications, most of them were published by the science-research sector, accounting for 54.2% of total publications. The percentage of publications from the science-research sector has been increasing over time, however, the contribution from the foreign sector has produced a contrary trend. Over 9% of total publications were indexed by SCI. The highest percentage of publications indexed by SCI took place during 1966-1977. In all publications indexed by SCI, those from the science-research sector dominated other sectors (59.1% of total publications). However, the foreign sector led with 30.1% of its own publications being in SCI. Studies of primatology were divided into nine areas. The percentage and change in percentage of publications in areas of primatology were counted. During 1978-2001 ecology and behaviour, neurobiology, reproduction and captive feeding were rapidly developing;fossil primates, morphology and anatomy decreasing;and taxonomy and distribution, cellular and molecular evolution became relatively poor. Increasing attention was paid to conservation biology. Prevention and control of diseases was fairly well studied in periods Ⅱ (1950-1965) and Ⅳ (1978-2001). The number of authors was highest during period Ⅳ, however, the mean number of publications per author in period Ⅳ was not as high as in period Ⅰ (1870-1949). Generally speaking, Chinese authors dominated the authors included in SCI. However in period Ⅰ, the sole author indexed by SCI was a foreign scholar, and foreign scholars comprised 60% of indexed authors in period Ⅲ (1966-1977).展开更多

The annual cost of schizophrenia in China was estimated at US$2586 per patient.Aims The study has two aims:(1) to conduct a targeted literature review of the economic literature on oral ziprasidone in China, and(2) to develop an inpatient economic model that compared the cost of intramuscular ziprasidone with other regimens including electroconvulsive therapy(ECT) for the management of acute agitation in patients with schizophrenia from a hospital's perspective in China. Methods A targeted literature review was conducted using PubMed and the Chinese literature databases for studies published between January 2007 and December2017. Studies that assessed costs associated with oral ziprasidone treatment for schizophrenia in China were summarised. In the inpatient economic model, cost measures included hospital room and board, antipsychotics,ECT and medications for the management of extrapyramidal symptoms(EPS). Input for standard antipsychotic regimens and unit cost were obtained from the literature. Hospital length of stay(LOS), utilisation of ECT and incidence of EPS were derived from the literature and supplemented/validated with a survey of psychiatrists in China. Cost was presented in 2017 Chinese yuan. Results The average estimated LOS was 29 days with ziprasidone, 33 days with risperidone+benzodiazepine,32 days with olanzapine, 35 days with haloperidol and 29 days with ECT. The cost of antipsychotics was $1260 with ziprasidone, $137 with risperidone+benzodiazepine, $913 with olanzapine and $210 with haloperidol; ECT treatment costs $785. The base-case analysis suggested that higher antipsychotic cost with ziprasidone was offset by savings with shorter LOS. Using intramuscular ziprasidone for acute management was associated with a total cost of $11157, the lowest among all antipsychotic regimens($11 424 with risperidone+benzodiazepine, $11 711 with olanzapine and $11 912 with haloperidol) and slightly higher than ECT($10 606). The cost of antipsychotics and ECT accounted for 1 %-11 % of the total cost. Varying LOS between the lower and upper bounds of the 95% CI, the total cost was comparable between these regimens. Conclusions Overall, the cost for the management of acute agitation was similar between intramuscular ziprasidone and other antipsychotics. Compared with other antipsychotics, the higher medication cost of intramuscular ziprasidone can be offset by savings with shorter hospital stay. The results from this economic analysis were complementary to the findings in the published literature assessing the economic outcomes of oral ziprasidone.展开更多

METHODS: Case reports of myotonia congenita were retrieved from the Chinese Journal Full-text database, dating between 1980 and 2007, and analyzed for clinical characteristics of myotonia congenita. RESULTS: There were 35 published reports and 258 cases about myotonia congenita. Six reports (62 cases) were excluded due to lack of clinical data, imprecise diagnosis, or duplication. Finally, 29 published reports and 196 cases (140 males and 56 females) were included in this analysis. About 78.6% of patients were diagnosed with myotonia congenita before the age of 20, and among these, 86.1% were classified as dominant inheritance. Lower and upper extremities were frequently affected with severe symptoms. Eyelids, mouth and lingual muscles, and trunk muscles and cervical muscles were less frequently involved. However, muscles for swallowing, sphincter muscles, and smooth muscles were not involved. There were no reports of cataracts, cardiac conduction block, or dyscrinism. myotonia congenita symptoms were induced or aggravated by cold temperatures in 71.9% of the patients and warming-up effect occurred in 95.6% of the patients. Muscle hypertrophy was observed in 69.6% and percussion of muscles in 76.5% of the patients. Myotonia potential or myotonia-like potential was detected in all patients using electromyography. Muscle fiber swelling or hypertrophy was frequently detected through muscular biopsy. CONCLUSION: Myotonia congenita frequently occurs in males before the age of 20, in particular as the autosomal dominant form of myotonia congenita. Skeletal muscles throughout the body, especially the lower and upper extremities, are involved. However, muscles for swallowing, sphincter muscles, and smooth muscles are not involved. Warming-up effect is the main characteristic of myotonia congenita.展开更多

The da Vinci surgical system, which is currently the most widely used telerobotic device, was approved by the Food and Drug Administration of the United States of America for clinical use in all abdominal operations in July 2000. The first da Vinci surgical system in China was installed in November 2005 at our institution. We herein report the first telerobotic-assisted laparoscopic abdominoperineal resection using the 3-arm da Vinci surgical system for low rectal cancer in Hong Kong and China, which was performed in August 2006. The operative time and blood loss were 240 min and 200 mL, respectively. There was no complication, and the patient was discharged on postoperative day five. An updated review of published literature on telerobotic-assisted colorectal surgery is included in this report, with special emphasis on its advantages and limitations.展开更多

The systematic literature review methodology is a replicable, rigorous, and transparent methodology for synthesizing existing literature to answer questions on a specific topic. The synthesis allows for knowledge consolidation, such as identifying knowledge gaps. In our illustration of this methodology, we focused on the expanding knowledge about the magma pathway at Mount Cameroon, one of Africa’s active volcanoes. Our synthesis of the relevant international geoscience research literature is based on the framework of knowledge about the magma pathway beneath a typical basaltic volcano. The framework has three primary components: magma supply, storage, and transport to erupting vents. Across these components is a total of twelve secondary components. The result is a previously non-existent and fragmented overall understanding of the magma pathway at Mount Cameroon. The gaps in the understanding (such as in the magma supply rates, timescales of chamber processes, and magma ascent rates) may be addressed in future research. Another key implication of the presented research lies in the proof of concept of the systematic literature review methodology as an applicable qualitative research methodology in the study of volcanoes.展开更多

However, specific therapeutic communication methods have not been systematized. The purpose of this study was to clarify therapeutic communication methods for families/family members from the perspectives of verbal communication and non-verbal communication through a review of existing literature. Methods: We conducted a search using the medical literature databases PubMed and Ichushi-Web using the keywords “therapeutic communication”. Analysis was performed on seven articles from PubMed and 14 articles from Ichushi-Web that described therapeutic communication methods performed by healthcare professionals for families/family members. Through directed content analysis, therapeutic communication methods were subcategorized, and classified into three categories: verbal communication, non-verbal communication, and verbal/non-verbal communication. Results: A total of 23 subcategories were extracted. Verbal communication included 11 subcategories, such as “asking questions using the communicatee’s words as they are”. Non-verbal communication included five subcategories, such as “noticing changes in the content of the communicatee’s story”. And verbal/non-verbal communication featured seven subcategories, such as “making the communicatee aware of one’s own beliefs”. Conclusion: Therapeutic communication methods included basic care/caring in family interviews/meetings, as well as verbal communication and non-verbal communication that act on family/family members’ beliefs. It is believed that changes in family/family members’ beliefs can be used to eliminate, reduce, or improve problematic conditions in the family. .展开更多

An updated review of published literature on telerobotic-assisted colorectal surgery is included in this report, with special emphasis on its advantages and limitations.

文摘The presented research illustrates the applicability and productiveness of the systematic literature review methodology, a non-empirical methodology in the geological sciences, particularly volcanology. Another key implication of the presented research lies in the proof of concept of the systematic literature review methodology as an applicable qualitative research methodology in the study of volcanoes.

文摘In order to explore researches about the chromosome karyotype analysis and fluorescence in situ hybridization(FISH) technology in China, using the bibliometric method, taking " fluorescence in situ hybridization(FISH) " and " chromosome" as key words, this paper made a statistical analysis on the literature published in China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI) during 2002-2016.The results indicated that the number of papers published in 2002 was the smallest(37),while the number of papers published in 2012 was the largest(125).In terms of the distribution of organizations of authors,in 1201 papers,11 organizations published papers ≥15,accounting for 21.65%.In terms of distribution of papers published by different periodicals,11 periodicals published papers ≥10,accounting for 17.65%.In terms of the papers supported by foundation projects,in all papers searched,377 papers were supported by foundation projects, accounting for 31.39%.In terms of the distribution of doctoral and master's dissertations,259 papers were master's dissertations, accounting for 21.57%;92 papers were doctoral dissertations, accounting for 7.66%.
文摘Background and Purpose: Therapeutic communication is a new term in family health care nursing, defined by Hohashi (2019) as a method of family intervention, and characterized by inclusion of not only verbal conversation but also nonverbal interaction. It is believed that changes in family/family members’ beliefs can be used to eliminate, reduce, or improve problematic conditions in the family. .

文摘As a nation with an extensive coastline,China has regions that have flourished and prospered due to the sea,and marine culture has developed vigorously, with marine literature being an indispensable component. In the new era,the youth in higher education institutions should focus on the ocean, listen to,inherit, and promote marine literature, aligning with policies to establish confidence in marine culture.Research indicates that the integration of marine literature offers numerous benefits to students’learning and future development, playing a crucial role in education. This paper will analyze the significance of marine literature in education, its current development status, and explore the application value of Chinese marine literature in educational settings.
文摘Background:The Transitional Care Model(TCM)for nursing care has yet to be implemented in China despite its success in Western countries. However, rapid social changes have demanded an upgrade in the quality of nursing care;in 2010,the Chinese government has acknowledged the need to implement the TCM in China. Objective:This study has the following objectives:(1)perform a thorough review of the literature regarding the development and implementation of the TCM in China's Mainland within the past 5 years;(2)provide a comprehensive discussion of the current status, problems, and strategies related to the implementation of the TCM in China's Mainland;and(3)suggest strategies pertaining to the future of the TCM in China.Design:The current pertinent literature is systematically reviewed.Data sources:Systematic and manual searches in computerized databases for relevant studies regarding the TCM led to the inclusion of 26 papers in this review.Review methods:Abstracts that satisfied the inclusion criteria were reviewed independently by the two authors of this manuscript, and discrepancies were resolved through discussion. The same reviewers independently assessed the paper in its entirety for selected abstracts. Results:The present English literature reviewrevealed a paucity of updated information about the development and implementation of the TCM in China's Mainland.Nevertheless, the dramatic growth of the TCM in the past 5 years has had a vital impact within the society and in nursing development. This review also revealed numerous issues regarding the focus of the TCM.Overall implications for practiceandrecommendations for future researchare discussed. Conclusion:Despite the potential of this nursing model to have a successful and beneficial impact in China's Mainland,it remains an under-researched topic.Further research on education and training as well as premium policies for nurses under the TCM are needed.
文摘With the deepening of globalization, immigration and pluralism have become increasingly common social phenomena. The research of the resulting immigrant literature is an important way to understand the mental journey of immigrant groups and their construction of cultural identity. In the German-speaking area, immigrant literature has gradually taken center stage over the years, becoming an important part of the German language literature, and immigrant writers have also frequently won various literary prizes, which can be described as particularly dazzling.Meanwhile, generations of writers have been thinking about and exploring the intergenerational relationships and differences among immigrant groups in the context of their own experiences. This paper will focus on some outstanding immigrant writers and discuss the intergenerational writing in immigrant literature by means of their works.
文摘BACKGROUND Isovaleric acidemia(IVA)is a rare autosomal recessive inherited organic acidemia caused by a genetic deficiency of isovaleryl-CoA dehydrogenase(IVD).Its morbidity is low,but mortality is high. There is no effective cure for this disease.Early identification of IVA using clinical features can significantly slow disease progression and reduce mortality. Here we report a Chinese neonate with two mutations of IVD and share valuable information on this disease.CASE SUMMARY A 12-day-old male neonate with“poor response for 1 d and repeated convulsions accompanied by high muscle tension for 6 h”was hospitalized. The patient was the first child of nonconsanguineous ethnic Chinese parents. He was delivered by cesarean section due to breech position at 39+1 wk of gestation with a birth weight of 3.27 kg.Initially,he suffered from dyspnea and rhinobyon, and at 10 d after birth the patient suddenly developed poor feeding, low response, lethargy and seizures.Organic acid analysis of blood and urine by tandem mass spectrometry and gas chromatography mass spectrometry showed extremely high concentrations of isovaleryl glycine. The patient had an acute episode of IVA causing severe metabolic stress and eventually died.CONCLUSION A new case of an IVA patient carrying c.1193G>A(p.Arg398Gln)and c.1208A>G(p.Try403Cys)mutations is reported in China.
文摘After Hurricane Katrina in 2005,literary works related to such a crisis sprouted the southern America, which are known as Post-Katrina Literature. This thesis, taking Salvage the Bones and The Not Yet as examples, scrutinizes how writers respond to the Post-Katrina environmental crisis in different ways.In Salvage the Bones,Jesmyn Ward employs a biographical genre to record the Katrina disaster, thereby, writings serving as a way of healing the psychic trauma of the writer herself;and in The Not Yet,Moira Crone presents a post-natural world by the employment of the Cli-Fi genre. Both writers enrich the tradition of Southern literature as well as American eco-literature.
