文摘This study investigates the identity of English for Specific Purposes(ESP)teachers within the dynamic landscape of shifts in public English teaching positioning.Adopting a mixed-methods approach,qualitative and quantitative analyses were employed to explore the complexities of ESP teacher identity construction and adaptation.Qualitative findings revealed key themes including strong professional identity grounded in specialized expertise,the impact of changing educational policies and curriculum reforms,and the importance of cultural competence and intercultural communication.Quantitative analysis of survey data indicated high levels of job satisfaction among ESP teachers,with significant correlations between variables such as professional development participation,perceived efficacy in technology integration,and self-perceptions of identity as ESP educators.
文摘The main goal of English teaching in colleges and universities is to cultivate students’ability to use the language,but many students are still unable to complete oral communication fluently after years of study.For this reason,teachers need to deeply analyze and study the linguistic features of oral English corpora and formulate reasonable teaching strategies to improve students’oral expression skills.This paper outlines the linguistic features of oral English corpora,comparatively analyzes the differences between oral English corpora and written English corpora,and explores effective teaching strategies,hoping to provide guidelines for relevant teachers.
文摘The inseparable relationship between language and culture indicates that culture teaching is indispensable in English teaching.The ultimate goal of culture teaching in English teaching is to cultivate learners’cross-cultural communication skills.Cross-cultural communication is a two-way process,which requires not only knowledge of English culture but also the use of English as a medium for disseminating Chinese culture to the outside world.However,in actual English teaching,the teaching of Chinese culture is a mere formality,and the teaching effect is not obvious.Therefore,it is necessary to conduct a survey and research on Chinese culture teaching in high school English classrooms to understand its current situation,existing problems,and their causes,so as to provide suggestions for Chinese culture teaching in high school.
文摘In the context of the information age,modern electronic technology has gradually penetrated into every aspect of our lives,and the field of education is no exception.Especially in English reading teaching,the application of electronic technology has provided unprecedented convenience and possibilities for teachers and students.However,just as every coin has two sides,modern electronic technology has also brought a series of challenges.Some students may overly rely on electronic devices for reading and overlook traditional paper-based reading methods,leading to a decline in reading comprehension ability.In addition,prolonged use of electronic devices can also have a negative impact on students’eyesight.Therefore,when using electronic technology for reading teaching,teachers need to pay attention to guiding students reasonably,balancing the use of electronic devices and traditional reading methods,and protecting students’vision and reading comprehension abilities.This article aims to explore the promotion and challenges of modern electronic technology in English reading teaching.
