Understanding the Global Identification with China’s Stories: A Cross-Cultural Perspective

Cross-cultural storytelling is a primary way for humankind to seek mutual recognition of value orientations between cultures,which facilitates the ability to jointly address the problems of human existence in the context of globalization.In this study,we conducted an interview survey of 6,130 respondents who were college students or graduates from 107 countries.The results show that there were a number of cross-cultural values embodied in China’s stories seen by the respondents as part of a common vision for the future of humankind and widely identified guidance on collaborative responses to global challenges.These cross-cultural values are common prosperity,ecological harmony,individual-collective integration,the urgency of global peace,as well as respect for multicultural and indigenous development paths.

Research on Strategies for Enhancing the Ability of Chinese German Learners to Tell Chinese Stories Through Short Videos

In the age of new media,short videos play an increasingly important role in international cultural exchange.However,German learners often encounter challenges when producing and sharing short videos due to factors such as technology and language proficiency.Such challenges can affect the professionalism and attractiveness of the videos.This study focuses on German learners at the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology.The aim of this study is to investigate students’experiences in producing short videos,identify issues through surveys and interviews,and concentrate on editing skills,language proficiency,and intercultural communication abilities.It proposes strategies for developing these skills and aims to provide insights for German and other foreign language learners in telling Chinese stories using short videos.

A Study of a Moral Dilemma Stories Teaching Model Focusing on the Development of Higher-Order Thinking --"Synthetic polymers" as an example

Cultivating students'higher-order thinking is one of the important goals of modern education,and innovative teaching model is an effective way to achieve this goal.Aiming at the inadequacy of the existing moral dilemma stories approach in the transformation of knowledge and behavior,this research constructs a new Project Based Learning-Ethical Dilemma Stories(PBL-EDS)Teaching Model applicable to China's secondary education stage based on the innovative features of the moral dilemma stories approach on the core competencies,taking the chemistry subject as an example to carry out practice,and puts forward suggestions for the implementation of the teaching model.Chemistry as an example to carry out the practice,and suggestions are made for the implementation of the teaching model.

Practical Paths for Integrating“Stories of China”in the New Era into Ideological and Political Education in Universities

As socialism with Chinese characteristics enters a new era,ideological and political education in universities is presented with new opportunities.Telling the“Stories of China”is not only necessary for inheriting and promoting the excellent traditional Chinese culture but also an important way to build the socialist core value system and cultivate qualified builders of socialism.Effectively integrating the“Stories of China”with the ideological and political theory courses in universities is of great significance for guiding students to establish correct worldviews,outlooks on life,and values.This paper focuses on the practical paths of integrating the“Stories of China”with ideological and political theory in universities,deeply analyzes the existing integration mechanisms,principles to follow,and challenges faced,and explores innovative paths.It aims to provide a new perspective for ideological and political education in universities,promote the comprehensive development of students,and provide solid theoretical support for cultivating qualified socialist builders.

基于Ghost-SE-Res2Net的多模型融合语音唤醒词检测方法

语音唤醒词检测(WWD)是语音交互中的关键技术,选择合适大小的检测窗对WWD性能的影响很大。提出一种新的多模型融合方法,通过融合小检测窗和大检测窗的检测结果来提高WWD性能。多模型融合方法包含两个分类模型,分别使用小检测窗和大检测窗,均基于轻量化的挤压与激励残差网络(SE-Res2Net)模块,即GhostSE-Res2Net,SE-Res2Net结构的多尺度机制可显著提升WWD的能力。在Ghost-SE-Res2Net中,首先使用Ghost卷积替换SE-Res2Net中的普通卷积以降低模型参数量,然后使用注意力池化层替换SE-Res2Net中的全局平均池化层进一步提升WWD能力。在实际检测时融合连续3个小检测窗模型的检测结果的最大值和1个大检测窗模型的检测结果,来判断唤醒词是否被触发。在训练时引入困难样本挖掘算法,选择性地学习较难检测的唤醒词信息以提高分类模型的检测性能。在包含2个唤醒词的Mobvoi数据集上评估系统性能,实验结果表明,在每小时0.5次错误唤醒的情况下,该系统在2个唤醒词上的错误拒绝率分别为0.46%和0.43%,实现了与先进基线相似的性能,并且系统参数量比基线少31%。

基于Ghost-YOLOv5s的SAR图像舰船目标检测

基于星载合成孔径雷达(synthetic aperture radar,SAR)图像的舰船目标检测中,为了平衡模型大小与检测精度,提出了一种基于Ghost卷积的SAR图像舰船目标检测方法Ghost-YOLOv5s。在YOLOv5s的颈部引入Ghost卷积,以减少模型参数和压缩模型体积;将高效的通道注意力机制(efficient channel attention,ECA)融入到颈部的C3模块里,以突出重要特征,从而保持较高的检测性能;使用SIoU损失函数替换原来的CIoU损失函数,以减少预测框和真实框之间的偏差,提高检测算法精度。实验结果表明,在SSDD遥感数据集上,改进模型与YOLOv5s相比,模型参数量减少了6.28%,模型体积减小了6.21%,检测精度达到了98.21%,实现了模型大小与检测精度的平衡。

Hero Hua Mulan With a Thousand Faces:Why Chinese Stories Can Move the World?Evidence From a Global Cross-Cultural Interview Survey

While people from Western countries do not always understand of the underlying cultural values of most Chinese stories,the Hua Mulan story has gained significant recognition from Western audiences.Therefore,it would be quite beneficial if we could understand the key elements that have contributed to the success of the Hua Mulan story so that we can employ similar elements in other intercultural communication programs and promote the communication and dissemination of cultures between China and the rest of the world.According to the findings from the interviews of 6,130 respondents from 107 countries,we found that the Hua Mulan story gains global acceptance because it represents a story of“a hero with a thousand faces,”which embodies the integration of Chinese traditions and contemporary spirit through sharing a global meaning while responding to various culturally common challenges.Five key cultural value dimensions are responsible for this Chinese story’s cross-cultural affinity and influence,which helped it win recognition and empathy worldwide.The five key cultural value dimensions are loyalty and patriotism,the courage to take responsibility,compatibility of individualism and collectivism,respondence to the multicultural appeal,and hero growth.These dimensions are then generalized as the value identity orientation grounded in a Global Shared Meaning(GSM)in this study.

移动设备下全景动画的叙事特征表达研究——以Google Spotlight stories 为例

目的:当前,全球以移动流媒体的视频消费能力最强,人们不再满足于传统影视观看方式,转而寻求多样化、互动型的沉浸式观看方式,全景动画应运而生。全景动画独特的叙事特征消解了传统动画叙事结构,需要对全景动画影片的独特叙事形态进行分析,促使其在传达故事的同时强化观众的互动体验。方法:文章阐述在全景技术的差异变化下,动画叙事难度与信息密度有所增加,以及观众身份在观影时发生变化等问题。以Google Spotlight stories平台出品的动画为主要案例,分析影响全景动画影片叙事的因素,阐明如何通过全景媒介实现观众互动与讲故事之间良好的叙事融合,强化受众对故事的体验感。结果:对Duet、Pearl和Buggy Night三部全景动画进行分析,说明通过建立分化事件、镜头视角以及观众引导三方面可以协调观众互动和故事表述之间的平衡关系,并以此探讨全景动画的叙事特征。结论:基于移动终端的全景动画不仅提供了更加便捷的观看方式,还打造了有趣且具有互动性的叙事体验。全景技术打破了传统叙事结构中导演的绝对控制权,允许观众根据自身观影习惯寻找或选择故事的展开方式。在此叙事过程中,应该更注重观众的体验与故事的传达方式。

Joint Authentication Public Network Cryptographic Key Distribution Protocol Based on Single Exposure Compressive Ghost Imaging

In the existing ghost-imaging-based cryptographic key distribution(GCKD)protocols,the cryptographic keys need to be encoded by using many modulated patterns,which undoubtedly incurs long measurement time and huge memory consumption.Given this,based on snapshot compressive ghost imaging,a public network cryptographic key distribution protocol is proposed,where the cryptographic keys and joint authentication information are encrypted into several color block diagrams to guarantee security.It transforms the previous single-pixel sequential multiple measurements into multi-pixel single exposure measurements,significantly reducing sampling time and memory storage.Both simulation and experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of this protocol and its ability to detect illegal attacks.Therefore,it takes GCKD a big step closer to practical applications.

High-visibility ghost imaging with phase-controlled discrete classical light sources

We take phase modulation to create discrete phase-controlled sources and realize the super-bunching effect by a phasecorrelated method. From theoretical and numerical simulations, we find the space translation invariance of the bunching effect is a key point for the ghost imaging realization. Experimentally, we create the orderly phase-correlated discrete sources which can realize high-visibility second-order ghost imaging than the result with chaotic sources. Moreover, some factors affecting the visibility of ghost image are discussed in detail.

Lu Xun(1881-1936)has been acclaimed father of modern Chinese literature.He is the first writer to use the vernacular to write fiction.His stories have laid a solid foundation for the development of modern Chinese fiction.Call to Arms(1923)and Wandering(1926)represent the greatest achievement of Chinese story-writing at that time.Since the 1920’s,Lu Xun’s stories have been translated into various languages and published throughout the world,enjoying an international reputation.The three English versions chosen are different with various features,especially in dealing with Chinese traditional culture according to different purposes and towards different English readers.

基于Ghost卷积的高级别浆液性卵巢癌复发预测方法

高级别浆液性卵巢癌是一种恶性肿瘤疾病,进行术前复发预测能帮助临床医生为患者提供个性化治疗方案,降低病人的死亡率。因该疾病的医学数据较少且难以获取,导致其深度学习模型难以得到充分的训练,复发预测准确率有待提高。针对此问题,本文设计了一种改进的低参数残差网络TGE-ResNet34,以ResNet34为主干网络,将传统卷积模块用Ghost卷积代替,完成病灶区特征的提取,降低模型的参数量,在2个Ghost卷积之间融入ECA(Efficient Channel Attention)注意力机制,抑制无用特征提取的干扰,最后通过5折交叉验证模型,避免数据随机划分的偶然性。实验结果表明,改进设计的TGE-ResNet34网络准确率为96.01%,相比原基线网络准确率提高4.52个百分点,参数量减少15.98 M。

基于相位变换和GhostNet-门控循环单元的自动调制识别方法

针对信号调制方式低信噪比条件下识别准确率不高的问题,提出了一种由相位变换、GhostNet、压缩与激励网络(Squeeze and Excitation Network,SENet)、门控循环单元(Gated Recurrent Unit,GRU)和深度神经网络组成的模型,用于自动调制识别接收信号。首先,采用基准数据集RML2016.10a和RML2016.10b同相正交数据作为模型输入;其次,构建识别模型,其中,相位变换用于降低相位偏移对调制识别的影响,GhostNet和GRU分别用于提取调制信号的空间特征和时间特征,SENet用于对特征图权重进行调整;而后,通过深度神经网络进行分类;最后,对所提模型进行了训练及测试。实验结果表明:与现有模型CGDNet、CLDNN、IC-AMCNet、MCLDNN和LSTM相比,所提出模型显著降低了参数量,有效提升了低信噪比条件下的识别准确率,平均识别准确率分别达到62.30%和64.45%。

An Empirical Study on Teaching Non-English Major Adult Students Reading with Allusions and Their Stories

Effective English reading requires readers not only possess good English grammar, flexible reading skills and plentiful vocabulary but also master rich cultural background knowledge.However, for the adult students educated in the Continuing Education College, it is rather obvious that they have troubles learning English The author of this thesis pro-posed a new idea of English reading teaching-teaching with allusions and their stories in English reading class.The author tries to apply the relationship between schema theory and reading in the process of teaching adult students so that they can get a deeper understanding of English allusions and their stories.The author of this thesis did an empirical research and made a quantitative analysis for pretest and posttest.The result of this research indicates that to improve English reading proficiency, either teachers or students should attach equal importance both to language structures and to cultural background knowledge.

基于Ghost模块的改进YOLOv5目标检测算法

现有以YOLOv5为代表的目标检测技术,存在骨干网络对特征提取不充分以及颈部层未高效融合浅层位置信息和深层高级语义信息等问题,这会导致检测精度较低,小目标误检、漏检。针对此问题,从兼顾实时性与检测精度出发,对YOLOv5进行改进,提出一种改进网络YOLOv5-CBGhost。首先在骨干网络中引入Ghost模块对模型进行轻量化处理,引入CA模块来更好地获得全局感受野,提高模型获取目标位置的准确度;然后借鉴双向加权特征金字塔网络,对原PAN结构进行改进,有效减少了特征冗余以及参数量,并通过跨层加权连接融合更多特征,提高了模型的目标检测精度;最后,增加多检测头以获取图片更丰富的高层语义信息,有效增加了检测精度。通过在PASCAL VOC2007+2012数据集上实验,YOLOv5-CBGhost的目标精度达到81.8%,相较于YOLOv5s,提高了3.0%,计算量减少42.5%,模型大小减少3.5%。

Shaking table tests and dynamic analyses of masonry wall buildings with frame-shear walls at lower stories

This paper describes shaking table tests of three eight-story building models： all are masonry structures in the upper stories, with or without frame-shear walls of one- or two- stories at the bottom. The test results of damage characteristics and seismic responses are provided and compared. Then, nonlinear response analyses are conducted to examine the reliability of the dynamic analysis. Finally, many nonlinear response analyses are performed and it is concluded that for relatively hard sites under a certain lateral stiffness ratio （i.e., the ratio of the stiffness of the lowest upper masonry story to that of the frame- shear wall story）, the masonry structure with one-story frame-shear wall at the bottom performs better than a structure built entirely of masonry, and a masonry structure with frame-shear wall of two stories performs better than with one-story frame- shear wall. In relatively soft soil conditions, all three structures have similar performane. In addition, some suggestions that could be helpful for design of masonry structures with ground story of frame-shear wall structure in seismic intensity region VII, such as the appropriate lateral stiffness ratio, shear force increase factor of the frame-shear wall story, and permissible maximum height of the building, are proposed.

An Automatic Method to Identify Citations to Journals in News Stories: A Case Study of UK Newspapers Citing Web of Science Journals

Purpose: Communicating scientific results to the public is essential to inspire future researchers and ensure that discoveries are exploited. News stories about research are a key communication pathway for this and have been manually monitored to assess the extent of press coverage of scholarship.Design/methodology/Approach: To make larger scale studies practical, this paper introduces an automatic method to extract citations from newspaper stories to large sets of academic journals. Curated ProQuest queries were used to search for citations to 9,639 Science and3,412 Social Science Web of Science(WoS) journals from eight UK daily newspapers during2006–2015. False matches were automatically filtered out by a new program, with 94% of the remaining stories meaningfully citing research.Findings: Most Science(95%) and Social Science(94%) journals were never cited by these newspapers. Half of the cited Science journals covered medical or health-related topics,whereas 43% of the Social Sciences journals were related to psychiatry or psychology. From the citing news stories, 60% described research extensively and 53% used multiple sources,but few commented on research quality.Research Limitations: The method has only been tested in English and from the ProQuest Newspapers database.Practical implications: Others can use the new method to systematically harvest press coverage of research.Originality/value: An automatic method was introduced and tested to extract citations from newspaper stories to large sets of academic journals.

融合注意力机制与GhostUNet的路面裂缝检测方法

路面裂缝是道路最为常见的缺陷,随着深度学习技术的发展,利用深度学习的方法对路面图像中的裂缝信息提取的方法愈来愈多。针对现有深度学习路面裂缝检测方法提取裂缝特征不完整导致精度低以及实时性不足的问题,提出一种融合注意力机制与GhostUNet的路面裂缝检测方法。本方法由编码器和解码器组成,将U-Net中的常规卷积改进为Ghost卷积,减少模型参数量;在编码和解码部分,为了提高对裂缝特征的提取能力,引入ECA注意力机制和残差连接,ECA注意力模块可以过滤不相关的特征信息,利用残差连接可以避免网络退化现象。为评估本方法在裂缝检测方面的有效性,使用两个公开裂缝数据集,并进行消融实验和对比实验,实验结果F1_score、P和R分别比U-Net平均提高了14.48%、14.35%和14.45%;该模型相比U-Net参数量下降了14.2 MB。该模型与同类模型比较,分割的准确率更高,参数量更少。
