At the heart of this network are the supports that allow electricity to be efficiently transported over long distances, guaranteeing the security and supply of energy to the various centers of use. In the construction of a line, supports occupy an important part in terms of safety and construction cost. It is therefore essential to optimize their use to reduce the cost of transmission lines. This work addresses this problem, which focuses on the optimal utilization of X-lattice towers in the construction of overhead power lines. The challenge is to reconcile the search for optimal cost and respect for the design, resistance and service constraints of the structure. To do this, a parameter having a strong correlation with the weight, foundation and construction cost of the X-lattice tower for 161 kV lines is determined as an important cost variable. This parameter is the wheelbase of the towers. The junction point between the structure and the foundations is obtained by measuring the forces at the base of the tower following the lowering of the loads. These efforts make it possible to size foundations which are of the inverted or isolated sole type. The results obtained reveal that from 8 meters in width, the wheelbase gradually changes until the optimum is obtained at 6.29 meters. With this wheelbase, the production cost is optimal. It clearly emerges from this study that the construction of lattice pylons with a wheelbase of approximately 6.29 meters makes it possible to optimize the cost of construction of 161 kV lines in the Republic of Benin.展开更多

However, previous projections of CREs based on the direct outputs of global climate models(GCMs) are subject to considerable uncertainties, largely caused by their coarse resolution. This study applies a triple-nested WRF(Weather Research and Forecasting) model dynamical downscaling, driven by a GCM, MIROC6(Model for Interdisciplinary Research on Climate, version 6), to improve the historical simulation and reduce the uncertainties in the future projection of CREs in the TGR. Results indicate that WRF has better performances in reproducing the observed rainfall in terms of the daily probability distribution, monthly evolution and duration of rainfall events, demonstrating the ability of WRF in simulating CREs. Thus, the triple-nested WRF is applied to project the future changes of CREs under the middle-of-the-road and fossil-fueled development scenarios. It is indicated that light and moderate rainfall and the duration of continuous rainfall spells will decrease in the TGR, leading to a decrease in the frequency of CREs. Meanwhile, the duration, rainfall amount, and intensity of CREs is projected to regional increase in the central-west TGR. These results are inconsistent with the raw projection of MIROC6. Observational diagnosis implies that CREs are mainly contributed by the vertical moisture advection. Such a synoptic contribution is captured well by WRF, which is not the case in MIROC6,indicating larger uncertainties in the CREs projected by MIROC6.展开更多

It clearly emerges from this study that the construction of lattice pylons with a wheelbase of approximately 6.29 meters makes it possible to optimize the cost of construction of 161 kV lines in the Republic of Benin.
文摘Against the backdrop of rapid development in China’s construction and infrastructure sectors, discrepancies between project budgets and actual costs have become pronounced, manifesting in project overruns and suspensions, posing significant challenges. To address inaccuracies in investment targets and operational complexities, this study focuses on a beam-bridge construction project in a district of Shijiazhuang city as a case study.Drawing upon historical analogs, the project employs a Work Breakdown Structure(WBS)to decompose the engineering works.Building on theories of Cost Significant(CS)and Whole Life Costing(WLC),the study constructs Cost Significant Items(CSIs)and develops a CNN-BiLSTM-Attention neural network for nonlinear prediction.By identifying significant cost drivers in engineering projects, this paper presents a streamlined cost estimation method that significantly reduces computational burdens, simplifies data collection processes, and optimizes data analysis and forecasting, thereby enhancing prediction accuracy. Finally, validation with real-world cost fluctuation data demonstrates minor errors, meeting predictive requirements across project execution phases.

文摘The bearing capacity of pile foundations is affected by the temperature of the frozen soil around pile foundations. The construction process and the hydration heat of cast-in-place(CIP)pile foundations affect the thermal stability of permafrost. In this paper, temperature data from inside multiple CIP piles, borehole observations of ground thermal status adjacent to the foundations and local weather stations were monitored in warm permafrost regions to study the thermal influence process of CIP pile foundations. The following conclusions are drawn from the field observation data.(1)The early temperature change process of different CIP piles is different, and the differences gradually diminish over time.(2)The initial concrete temperature is linearly related with the air temperature, net radiation and wind speed within 1 h before the completion of concrete pouring;the contributions of the air temperature, net radiation, and wind speed to the initial concrete temperature are 51.9%,20.3%and 27.9%,respectively.(3)The outer boundary of the thermal disturbance annulus is approximately 2 m away from the pile center. It took more than 224 days for the soil around the CIP piles to return to the natural permafrost temperature at the study site.

文摘Precipitation projections over the Tibetan Plateau(TP)show diversity among existing studies, partly due to model uncertainty. How to develop a reliable projection remains inconclusive. Here, based on the IPCC AR6–assessed likely range of equilibrium climate sensitivity(ECS)and the climatological precipitation performance, the authors constrain the CMIP6(phase 6 of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project)model projection of summer precipitation and water availability over the TP.The best estimates of precipitation changes are 0.24,0.25,and 0.45 mm d^(−1)(5.9%,6.1%,and 11.2%)under the Shared Socioeconomic Pathway(SSP)scenarios of SSP1–2.6,SSP2–4.5,and SSP5–8.5 from 2050–2099 relative to 1965–2014,respectively.The corresponding constrained projections of water availability measured by precipitation minus evaporation(P–E)are 0.10,0.09,and 0.22 mm d^(−1)(5.7%,4.9%,and 13.2%),respectively.The increase of precipitation and P–E projected by the high-ECS models, whose ECS values are higher than the upper limit of the likely range, are about 1.7 times larger than those estimated by constrained projections.Spatially, there is a larger increase in precipitation and P–E over the eastern TP,while the western part shows a relatively weak difference in precipitation and a drier trend in P–E.The wetter TP projected by the high-ECS models resulted from both an approximately 1.2–1.4 times stronger hydrological sensitivity and additional warming of 0.6℃–1.2℃ under all three scenarios during 2050–2099.This study emphasizes that selecting climate models with climate sensitivity within the likely range is crucial to reducing the uncertainty in the projection of TP precipitation and water availability changes.

文摘Spring consecutive rainfall events(CREs) are key triggers of geological hazards in the Three Gorges Reservoir area(TGR), China. Such a synoptic contribution is captured well by WRF, which is not the case in MIROC6,indicating larger uncertainties in the CREs projected by MIROC6.

文摘Optical multilayer thin film structures have been widely used in numerous photonic applications. However, existing inverse design methods have many drawbacks because they either fail to quickly adapt to different design targets,or are difficult to suit for different types of structures,e.g.,designing for different materials at each layer. These methods also cannot accommodate versatile design situations under different angles and polarizations. In addition, how to benefit practical fabrications and manufacturing has not been extensively considered yet.In this work,we introduce OptoGPT(Opto Generative Pretrained Transformer),a decoder-only transformer,to solve all these drawbacks and issues simultaneously.

文摘The application of the wellhead suction anchor in the second production test of natural gas hydrates(NGHs)in the South China Sea(SCS)was met with success. This design incorporates a central conductor guide pipe, which distinguishes it from traditional suction foundations. However, this addition resulted in a relatively high penetration resistance and a shallower penetration depth at the self-weight penetration stage. To mitigate this issue, the current study proposes an optimized design where the end of the suction foundation is sharpened. The installation characteristics of the traditional suction foundation and new suction foundation during self-weight penetration into sand are studied through laboratory tests and theoretical analysis. The flat and sharpened bottom shapes are considered in the traditional and new suction models. The effects of the initial penetration velocity on the initial penetration depth and soil plug and impact cavity characteristics are systematically studied. The results show that the self-weight penetration depth of the foundation with a sharpened bottom is 44.5%deeper than that of the foundation with a flat bottom. There are cavities around the foundation at the self-weight penetration stage, and the penetration depth is overestimated by 15%-30%.Finally,a model for predicting the penetration depth of the new suction foundation is proposed.

文摘In the process of suction penetration of bucket foundations with inner compartments for offshore wind turbines, most researches focus on soil seepage failure and soil plugs, while the buckling of foundations is rarely investigated. Therefore, theoretical calculation methods for critical buckling pressures of the skirt and bulkheads of the bucket foundation are first presented according to the stability theory of a cylindrical shell and the small deflection theory of a thin plate, respectively.Furthermore, two types of models with and without considering the skirt-soil interaction are developed for the calculation of critical buckling pressure of the bucket foundation.Taking a practical project as an example, theoretical and numerical methods are used to obtain the critical buckling pressures of a bucket foundation. In this work, the theoretical method and the finite element model considering the skirt-soil interaction for calculating the critical buckling pressure of bucket foundations are firstly proposed. The results can help to optimize the design process of offshore wind turbine foundations and improve the safety of offshore wind power systems.
文摘The bending and free vibration of porous functionally graded(PFG)beams resting on elastic foundations are analyzed. The material features of the PFG beam are assumed to vary continuously through the thickness according to the volume fraction of components. The foundation medium is also considered to be linear, homogeneous, and isotropic, and modeled using the Winkler-Pasternak law.The hyperbolic shear deformation theory is applied for the kinematic relations, and the equations of motion are obtained using the Hamilton’s principle. An analytical solution is presented accordingly, assuming that the PFG beam is simply supported.Comparisons with the open literature are implemented to verify the validity of such a formulation. The effects of the elastic foundations, porosity volume percentage and span-to-depth ratio are finally discussed in detail.

文摘Glutamatergic projection neurons generate sophisticated excitatory circuits to integrate and transmit information among different cortical areas, and between the neocortex and other regions of the brain and spinal cord.Appropriate development of cortical projection neurons is regulated by certain essential events such as neural fate determination, proliferation, specification, differentiation, migration, survival, axonogenesis, and synaptogenesis. These processes are precisely regulated in a tempo-spatial manner by intrinsic factors, extrinsic signals, and neural activities. The generation of correct subtypes and precise connections of projection neurons is imperative not only to support the basic cortical functions(such as sensory information integration, motor coordination, and cognition)but also to prevent the onset and progression of neurodevelopmental disorders(such as intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorders, anxiety, and depression). This review mainly focuses on the recent progress of transcriptional regulations on the development and diversity of neocortical projection neurons and the clinical relevance of the failure of transcriptional modulations.
