The Essential Role of Zheng Qi in Promoting Health: From the Perspective of Chinese Medicine and Modern Medicine

The concept of Zheng Qi in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) refers to the vital energy produced by the interaction of Yin and Yang forces in the body. Zheng Qi performs two main functions: Wei Qi (defensive Qi), which shields the body from external pathogens, and Ying Qi (nutritive Qi), which sustains the internal organs and enhances their functionality. In TCM, Chinese tonifying herbs can help restore the balance of Yin/Yang and Qi/Blood function in visceral organs (i.e., optimal physiological functions), thereby fostering the efficient production of Zheng Qi and enhancing health. To ensure the quality of Chinese herbal products, functional assays to measure Yin/Yang, Qi/Blood functions, and Zheng Qi production should be implemented. The efficacy of Yang and Qi herbs can be evaluated by their ability to increase mitochondrial ATP in cultured mouse cardiomyocytes, while Yin and Blood herbs are tested through their immunostimulatory effects on antigen-induced T/B cell proliferation in mouse splenocytes and the production of erythropoietin/nitric oxide in hepatocytes/vascular endothelial cells, respectively. Additionally, Zheng Qi’s effect can be gauged by examining natural killer cell activity and antigen-induced T/B cell proliferation in mice ex vivo. These assays act as biomarkers for assessing the quality and effectiveness of herbal health products within TCM theory.

A preliminary study on life history of marine red alga Stylonema alsidii(Zandardini)Drew f.ramosum Zheng et Li

Stylonema alsidii(Zandardini)Drew f.ramosum Zheng et Li is a common species in the genus Stylonema,but there are limited reports on morphological taxonomy and a lack of studies on life history and the regulation of early development.The early development,discoid formation,and erect thallus growth of Stylonema alsidii f.ramosum were observed under laboratory conditions.In addition,the influence of main environmental factors such as temperature and light intensity on its development was briefly studied,and various stages of its life history were observed.The result shows:(1)there are two reproductive modes:asexual reproduction and sexual reproduction;(2)the morphology of this species varies in different degrees under laboratory culture conditions;(3)sexual reproduction and asexual reproduction can coexist under suitable conditions.Five pathways of life history were inferred from experimental phenomena.Mature sporophytes form mature gametophytes by producing initially isolated or initially attached monospore,and mature gametophytes form mature sporophytes by fertilization of eggs and sperms.The sexual and asexual reproduction processes of Stylonema alsidii f.ramosum were reported for the first time,and this is also the first report on sexual reproduction in the genus Stylonema.

Study on Preservative Formula and Shelf Life of Cantonese Style Moon Cakes

To ensure the safety of consumers, prolong the shelf life of moon cake and reduce the cost of manufacturing and marketing enterprises, the optimization of preservative formula and the shelf life of cantonese style moon cake were studied. Through single and compound formula preservative test, the results showed that potassium sorbate and sodium dehydroacetate could inhibit the microorganisms in the moon cake, but the inhibitory effect of sodium dehydroacetate was stronger than that of potassium sorbate; and the combination of potassium sorbate and sodium dehydroacetate had a synergistic effect, and the best formula is ＇potassium sorbate 0.44 g/kg mixed with sodium dehydroacetate 0.38 g/kg. A batch of moon cake was prepared with the best preservative formula, then the total number of colonies, molds and coliform group in the samples were detected by random sampling at irregular intervals. The total number of molds exceeded the limit on the 187^th d, and it indicated that the shelf life of the product was 187 d. Compared with the conventional 15-day shelf life, this research greatly prolongs the sheff life of cantonese style moon cake, and cut down the cost of moon cake enterprises. It is worthy of popularization and application.

Distribution of Mandarin Mingled by Cantonese: Survey Based on Pearl River Delta in China

Mandarin Mingled by Cantonese is common in Guangdong dialect area.Its main manifestation is the heterogeneous pronunciation and vocabulary,and its performance degree can measure speakers’Mandarin level.In the summer of 2019,this paper conducted a survey on the Pearl River Delta area and found that:(1)the rank of Mandarin of each city is from high to low:Shenzhen,Dongguan,Guangzhou,Zhuhai,Foshan,Huizhou,Zhongshan,Jiangmen,Zhaoqing;(2)The degree index of Mandarin Mingled by Cantonese in the Pearl River Delta is calculated.It’s wise to strengthen the promotion of Mandarin in Guangdong,to promote the balanced development of regional economic integration.

Characteristic and effect analysis of protein and peptide in Cantonese cured meat processing

The aim of this work was to explore the physicochemical and structural properties,lipid oxidation and antioxidant capacity of the peptides extracted from Cantonese cured meat and as well as to investigate the effect of drying time on the sarcoplasmic and myofibrillar proteins of Cantonese cured meat.The results suggested that salting out,protein oxidation and heat treatment were closely related to surface hydrophobicity and the secondary structure of peptides was changed by processing.And the peroxide value and the value of tributyltin compounds were different in evaluating the degree of lipid oxidation.Glu and His were the major amino acid.The approximate molecular weights of the sarcoplasmic proteins and myofibrillar proteins ranged from 31 kDa to 50 kDa and 66 kDa,respectively.The results indicated that reducing the levels of protein oxidation and improvement of the antioxidant properties should be of great interest to preserve the nutritional quality of meat products and prolong preservation period.

Applying the Frame Theory to Translating Animal Metaphors in Cantonese Nursery Rhymes into English

From the perspective of the frame theory,with the analysis of animal metaphors in Cantonese nursery rhymes,this paper discusses the feasible translation strategies,suggesting that direct translation can be adopted for animal metaphors that can evoke the similar cognitive frame in both Cantonese and English cultural contexts.As for those without identical frame,translation without the original vehicle can be used for the metaphors of physicalification,while translation with annotation can be applied for the metaphors of personification.

Motivation and Pragmatic Strategies of Code-switching--A Case Study of the Switching between Cantonese and English on Campus in Guangzhou City

Code-switching is a daily affair in multilingual communities.A set of negotiation system exists in the conversations made by speakers and hearers,which is used to test whether the participants have such kind of linguistic repertoire to handle codeswitching,in order to take different conversation strategies to keep the conversation going on or to end it.With the assistances of several ways of analysis applied,including fieldwork and conversational analysis,this paper focuses on the social motivation and pragmatic model of code-switching between Cantonese and English.

Mandarin Mingled by Cantonese:A Phenomenon of Language Variation

Mandarin mingled by Cantonese is a phenomenon of Mandarin variation.This paper adopts heterogeneous words to explore its specific performances within the context of Mandarin by investigating 21 cities in Guangdong Province of China,and applies the average ratio of heterogeneous words to measure the variation degree of Mandarin influenced by Cantonese.The statistical results suggest that language variation is mainly reflected in pronunciation,vocabulary and grammar,especially in pronunciation.Variation can be found in all kinds of parts of speech,mostly nouns,verbs and adjectives.Furthermore,there is a certain internal correlation between variation and residents’individual characteristics:the elder,less educated and rural resident,the more serious the variation is;and male is more prone to variation than female.Additionally,the degree of variation varies greatly from city to city.The Mandarin level in Shenzhen and Dongguan is much higher than that in Yunfu and Jieyang,which is closely related to the level of regional economic development.

A Study on the Metaphorical Image of Cantonese Cuisine and Its Translation

Guangdong, as one of the many tourist attractions in China, has gained increasing popularity among travelers around the globe. The image of the place is by and large determined by several respects, among which, the most prominent is no other than the food, Cantonese cuisine, whose dish names are usually rich in metaphors. This paper aims to analyze the metaphors embedded deeply in the dish names, with hope to decipher the mapping from the source domain, or the metaphorical image, to the target do?main, so as to help deliver a viable solution to translate them, and improve the image of Cantonese cuisine.

郑氏手法结合针刺治疗中老年神经根型颈椎病对其颈椎生理曲度影响的临床观察

目的观察郑氏手法结合针刺治疗中老年神经根型颈椎病的临床疗效及对其颈椎生理曲度的影响。方法将该院2021年6月—2022年5月收治的63例符合神经根型颈椎病急性期诊断标准的患者分为治疗组和对照组,其中治疗组在治疗中脱离2例,完成治疗30例,对照组在治疗中脱离1例,完成治疗30例。治疗组采用郑氏手法结合普通针刺治疗,对照组采用普通手法结合针刺治疗。1周治疗5次,两组均治疗2周。比较两组总体疗效,比较两组治疗前后视觉模拟评分法(visual analogue scale,VAS)、颈椎功能障碍指数(neck disability index,NDI)和颈椎病临床评价量表(clinical evaluation scale of cervical spondylosis,CASCS)评分变化;比较两组治疗前后颈椎生理曲度变化。结果治疗组治疗总有效率为86.67%(26/30),对照组治疗总有效率为63.33%(19/30)。治疗组总体疗效优于对照组(P<0.05);治疗组治疗后VAS评分、NDI评分低于对照组,CASCS评分高于对照组(P<0.05);治疗组治疗后颈椎生理弧度高于对照组(P<0.05)。结论郑氏手法结合针刺是治疗神经根型颈椎病的有效方案,值得临床进一步研究。

准噶尔盆地沙湾凹陷二叠系上乌尔禾组流体相态及油气藏类型

准噶尔盆地腹部地区沙湾凹陷超深层蕴含丰富的油气资源。根据烃源岩热演化模拟实验分析了沙湾凹陷二叠系上乌尔禾组烃源岩生烃产物类型,结合地层流体高温高压物性实验数据,运用相图判别法和经验参数法对沙湾凹陷征10井地层流体相态进行深入研究。研究结果表明:①沙湾凹陷征10井上乌尔禾组油气主要来自于下乌尔禾组泥质烃源岩,其有机质类型为Ⅱ1型,镜质体反射率(Ro)为1.05%~1.46%,岩石热解峰温(T_(max))为433~446℃,处于成熟—高成熟演化阶段,目前处于生轻质油阶段。②上乌尔禾组地层流体成分表现为凝析气藏的流体组成,地层温度为166.0℃,介于临界温度和临界凝析温度之间,地层压力为155MPa,远高于露点压力,地-露压差大,表明地层条件下流体呈凝析气相特征,但地下油气相态与地表采出流体相态具有一定差异。相图判别法和经验参数法烃类流体相态分析结果均显示,征10井上乌尔禾组气藏为含大油环的凝析气藏。③沙湾凹陷上乌尔禾组具有优越的成藏条件,紧邻下乌尔禾组烃源岩,油气近源垂向输导,向局部隆起区运聚,巨厚的三叠系及上乌尔禾组中上部区域盖层起到重要的封盖作用,最终在局部隆起区形成岩性-构造凝析气藏。

中国人文经济学的产生,是马克思主义与中国具体实际和中华优秀传统文化相结合的结果。中国人文经济学的构建和发展,一方面要采用现代科学方法,另一方面要发扬中国人文传统。中国经济学的科学方法来源于马克思主义和现代科学的基本理念,而中国人文传统是中国人民通过观乎天文,观乎人文,彰往察来,显微阐幽,经数千年而形成的历史文脉。“春秋三事”是中国古代圣贤总结历史经验提出的基本政治经济理念,具体来说就是要合理利用天地之间各种资源,并在此基础上做好三件事,即正德、利用、厚生,并将“三事”统合协调,执中惟和,从而实现人民安乐,万世永赖。所以,正德、利用、厚生成为中国历代国家和社会治理的基本原则。本文认为,“春秋三事”经马克思主义的现代阐释,并与现代市场经济理论结合,可以作为中国人文经济学构建的基础框架。

19世纪粤洋海盗海外形象译介研究

作为近代中国海洋文化的重要历史组成部分,19世纪粤洋海盗的海外文献尚未厘清,其海外形象仍不清晰。经考,19世纪西方译介粤洋海盗活动的英文译、著达14种。这些译、著以专门史、传记小说和社会政治评论等多种体裁呈现,书写了粤洋海盗的犯罪行为、生活方式及其被镇压的过程,这些作品打破了人们对于海盗的固有印象,综合展现了粤洋海盗的犯罪本性、多面人性及东方社会特性。上述发现有利于扩展学界对粤洋海盗研究视角,并有助于拓宽传统中国社会海外形象的研究思路。

整体模式在郑氏手法治疗肱骨外上髁炎中的临床应用

目的观察郑氏手法治疗肱骨外上髁炎的治疗效果。方法将2021年8月—2022年1月该院筋伤科门诊收治的60例肱骨外上髁炎病人按照纳入顺序用随机数字表随机分类法随机分成两组,每组30例,治疗组30例病人予郑氏手法治疗,对照组30例病人予局部封闭治疗,两组疗程均是2周。疗程结束后评估两组总体疗效,治疗前后视觉模拟评分法(visual analog scale,VAS)评分,治疗前后Mayo肘关节功能评分,治疗前后美国特种外科医院(Hospital for Special Surgery,HSS)肘关节功能评分,治疗前后肘关节局部压痛阈值。结果治疗组的总有效率为88.89%(24/27),优于对照组总有效率81.48%(22/27)(P<0.05);两组治疗后VAS评分均降低,两组差异无统计学意义(P>0.05);两组治疗后Mayo肘关节评分和HSS肘关节评分均增高,治疗组评分明显高于封闭组(P<0.05);两组治疗后Mayo肘关节评分和HSS肘关节评分均增高,治疗组评分明显高于封闭组(P<0.05);两组治疗后肘关节局部压痛阈值较治疗前均有提升,治疗组肘关节局部压痛阈值明显高于封闭组(P<0.05)。结论郑氏手法治疗肱骨外上髁炎疗效优于局部封闭治疗,值得临床推广应用。
