Understanding green areas is of paramount importance to also understand the population’s mental health and well-being, as well as to achieve ecological understanding and its impact on urban infrastructure. Thus, the aim of the present study is to carry out a survey on both urban afforestation structure and on its social impact on a Brazilian municipality. It also sought to understand the damages caused by these species to urban infrastructure in comparison to data collected in 2009, to assess forest coverage in this municipality and tree planting underutilized capacity. Accordingly, all the streets in this municipality’s urban area, the botanical data of each tree and its damage to the city’s infrastructure and phytosanitary conditions were surveyed (from 1 to 5). Data were compared to those from the 2009 census, and social issues were analyzed. In total, 5044 individuals belonging to 189 species were recorded. The most often found species were Lagerstroemia indica and Murraya paniculata. Out of the total number of trees, 458 trees scored at least one score “5” in one of the criteria, and this number represents 8.9% of the total of the trees. L. indica was the species accounting for the highest rates of phytosanitary and infrastructure issues. Data comparison evidenced that urban tree canopy lost 25% of its vegetation between the two measurements taken herein, but the number of species has increased. When it comes to damages, many trees started showing phytosanitary issues or damage to urban infrastructure.展开更多

Data comparison evidenced that urban tree canopy lost 25% of its vegetation between the two measurements taken herein, but the number of species has increased. When it comes to damages, many trees started showing phytosanitary issues or damage to urban infrastructure.

文摘In view of the seriously-polluted water and broken eco-waterscapes in the Qiusuo Brook on campus of China Three Gorges University, this paper proposed the ecological restoration concept and mode of campus river according to field investigation and monitoring results,i.e. "reduce exogenous pollution—restore sediment microorganism—build intensified plant filter strip—build river water ecosystem and optimize landscapes—maintain ecological river course".In addition to introducing the design concept and principle of this mode, this paper specified the concrete projects such as sewage interception and water supplement, restoration of sediment microorganism, restoration of water plants, ecological restoration of embankment etc.,and also gave planar layouts and sketches of some projects,in order to provide references for the researches and practices of campus river ecological restoration in China Three Gorges University and other similar projects.
文摘The current education field is experiencing an innovation driven by big data and cloud technologies, and these advanced technologies play a central role in the construction of smart campuses.Big data technology has a wide range of applications in student learning behavior analysis, teaching resource management, campus safety monitoring, and decision support, which improves the quality of education and management efficiency.Cloud computing technology supports the integration, distribution, and optimal use of educational resources through cloud resource sharing, virtual classrooms, intelligent campus management systems, and Infrastructure-as-a-Service(IaaS)models,which reduce costs and increase flexibility. This paper comprehensively discusses the practical application of big data and cloud computing technologies in smart campuses, showing how these technologies can contribute to the development of smart campuses, and laying the foundation for the future innovation of education models.
文摘In view of rural revitalization, the Meigu area,as a key region of the Tibetan-Yi Corridor, faces challenges in educational development and the construction of campus cultural landscapes.Campus landscape culture,as the foundation of campus culture,is one of the important factors affecting the quality of campus education.Integrating traditional cultural elements such as Yi patterns and totems into the design can effectively enhance the aesthetic of the campus, promote the local ethnic characteristic culture, and inject new vitality into rural revitalization. Therefore, this paper applies traditional Yi cultural elements to the design of campus cultural landscapes. This is of great significance for improving the rural school environment and enhancing students’enthusiasm for learning and cultural identity.Besides,it provides an alternative for the preservation and development of local culture.
文摘Persons with disabilities have difficulties traveling from one point to the other due to the limited options of travel modes for the first and last mile.Western Michigan University tested using an autonomous shuttle on the main campus's sidewalks for persons with disabilities. This study's objectives are to understand the empathy college students without disabilities had on the need for suitable transportation services for students with disabilities and the perceived risks of the services'operation on sidewalks. The Bayesian ordered logit model and text mining analyzed 396 survey responses. The Bayesian ordered logistic regression results revealed that age, gender, and ethnicity are important factors that contribute to different opinions concerning perceived risks and sympathy brought by an autonomous shuttle operating on pedestrians'sidewalks. The text mining results revealed several patterns. While respondents who were against the operation focused on potential safety hazards and the crowdedness of the sidewalks, supporters focused on the expected improved mobility for people with disabilities. The findings from this study are expected to assist policymakers and vehicle manufacturers with pedestrian expectations and considerations related to risk and safety when sharing their walkways with the autonomous shuttle.
文摘In recent years, the government has issued a series of documents to promote the construction of digital campuses. This initiative serves to encourage the deep integration of information technology and intelligent technology education and digital reform, the combination of virtual reality and campus management is the need for innovative thinking and economic and social development, and then better change our learning style and living environment. The construction of the digital campus is based on virtual reality technology,BIM,GIS,and three-dimensional modeling technology to provide an immersive platform for students, promote the integration of virtual reality technology and education, help teachers, students, and parents to understand all kinds of education information and resources,to achieve their interoperability. From the off-campus environment to the school teaching equipment, teachers to teaching quality certification, and learning,to extracurricular entertainment, opening ceremonies to graduation parties,to bring more efficient, convenient, and safe campus life for teachers, students, and staff in school, and break the traditional information restrictions.
文摘What is it?Ecology is the science of how humans, animals and plants live together. For example,in the city you can find birds, rats, insects and plants that all live in the same space. Many of them eat things that people don’t want any more.If you go to a forest, you can see different kinds of plants, insects, small animals like rabbits and birds living there;they all eat different things in the forest, and some eat each other!

文摘At present, the major problems facing the water resource environment worldwide include water pollution, water resource shortage, and water ecosystem degradation. The discharge of industrial wastewater, agricultural non-point source pollution, and the discharge of urban sewage lead to a serious decline in water quality, which directly affects the safety of human drinking water and the living environment of aquatic organisms.Additionally, the unbalanced distribution and excessive exploitation of water resources lead to the problem of water shortage in many areas, which then leads to social and economic contradictions and ecological crises. In terms of ecosystems, the phenomena of water ecological degradation and reduction of biodiversity are increasingly obvious, and the carrying capacity of aquatic ecosystems are gradually declining. This paper aims to analyze the natural, social, and economic factors affecting the water resource environment, and propose effective strategies to protect the water ecology. To provide a theoretical basis and practical guidance for the sustainable utilization of water resources and the long-term development of the water ecosystem.
